I've gone here twice now, each time the brisket has been absolutely killer! Counter service for the food is quick and friendly, no complaints. Plenty of seating with a great patio and ambiance. The brisket is tender, seasoned, smoky, and with delicious bark. I need to try more of the sides, the collard greens are ok (I prefer mine a bit more savory/salty) and the potato salad is good, the meat is definitely the star and I look forward to trying more options. read more

Great patio. This place delivers real barbecue, done right. The brisket is moist, tender, and perfectly fatty, none of that dry, boiled-meat texture you get elsewhere. The sides mostly hold their own...the corn, baked beans, and potato salad are all delish! Mac and cheese is just okay. Portions are generous, and the staff is friendly and attentive. Oh and brownie...yummo! One request: I wish this location had the nachos. They serve them on their food truck and at 3 Taverns on the Beltline, which I can't wait to try! Outside of Das Bbq are rows of smokers, so before even stepping inside you're hit with the smell of woodsmoke and meat. Inside you can tell it's a bbq joint with pictures on the wall and a sink in the dining area for handwashing. There is also outside seating. The staff was friendly and helpful with suggestions, and the chicken, turkey, brisket, and Mac were all outstanding. They put their own twist on some the sides, and while the corn or beans weren't my favorite I get the appeal. Definitely would recommend and look forward to returning. read more

This review is based off of Uber Eats so I can't really speak on the service. First things first let's rename the corn, "crack corn"... it's amazing. Never had anything like it in my life. The pulled pork sandwich was good, not the best I've ever had in my life. It might've been the sauce. I'm used to a sweeter sauce, and I added sweet heat pickles on my own at home. All in all I would order again, even if it's a vat of the corn. The Ghirardelli brownies are for the chocolate lovers- tasty! read more

Das BBQ was perfect for lunch, honestly tons of food, so maybe too much for lunch, but it was good and tasty so it was worth it. First, I highly recommend the pulled pork. It had so much flavor, not too much fat, and was a great sandwich with the bbq sauce. The brisket was also very good; tender, moist, and a huge portion, which was great for our first time. We came on Sunday at 11 just as they weee opening. They were ready for us. We split a couple of bbq plates and they came out quickly. The corn was super unique and interesting. Everyone loved the Mac. And the meats were good too. I loved the big handwashing station inside. I didn't love that we had to find street parking. Overall would come back. read more

Great BBQ. Two people told me this was the best Q in Atlanta, and who am I to doubt them. It's the only one I've been to here and I thought the brisket and pulled pork were fantastic. Texas style I read somewhere. Hella delicious style is what I would call it! Collard greens too, which had an interesting slight vinegar/pickle flavor. It's a five star joint in my eyes. But I will say that the mac and cheese was just very good, and not off the chart like the rest of my meal. If that was a point off, they got the point back for having a good selection of beer! Lots of seating inside and out. A nice place to go on evenings and weekends because they have games outside and a great hangout vibe. Kudos to the staff for the great service. And an extra thanks to the really cool brother who was in line in front of me. It was a true act of hospitality the way he shared about his favorites on the menu. This is my new favorite bbq spot in Atlanta. I rated above the usuals. Consistently fall of the bone St. Louis ribs, excellent pulled pork and brisket and solid sides. Atmosphere is awesome too. I found all of the meats as well as the BBQ sauces above average. I'm a bit of a brisket 'snob' as I make it at home and prefer it wrapped tight and very juicy. This had a great smoke rink and flavor...but the juiciness wasn't quite at the top. The Macaroni & Cheese was excellent - not only creamy and flavorful, but also a great smoke taste. While it was a little on the pricey side for just one person ($30), there was enough food to serve both of us - so I rated the Value above average. I'm not going to enjoy writing this review, but you have to give an honest opinion and my thoughts are pretty average. You can tell whoever bought this place, sunk a ton of money into it. I've never seen so much smoking equipment. They have 5 industrial size smokers right in front of the restaurant. The space is huge and there was hardly anyone there on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. We came here for bocce courts, while the outside is nice, it's next to a busy road and close enough to the interstate where you hear the constant humming of cars. It kind of ruins the outside esthetic. I ordered the wings and brisket, with cream corn and baked beans. I would go back just for the corn, the cheese and pepper flavor if so good, it taste like shaved elotes. The wings were alright but pretty dry. I understand bbq is usually made the morning of, and served to order. But I've had smoked wings a lot and these were sitting out for a while. My favorite smoked wings are the local. The brisket was okay, a good bark a mediocre cut, and not very juicy. The baked beans were a bit saucy and okay. What I will say is there bbq sauce choices were awful. Not enough choices, and too much vinegar. It is my personal preference but I hate vinegar forward bbq sauce. The drinks are very good, and they have jack and coke for only 5 bucks! Even though the margs come out of a tap, they are pretty good. The service was generally pretty nice. Again I hate writing a meh review but my experience was that. I hold a high standard for bbq and the only one in Atlanta I stand by is heirloom. Bottom line I won't be back, unless some friends want to go. I don't like the interstate and big money atmosphere. This is only my second time having DAS BBQ and this was pleasant experience, but this time was a takeout order. We had my in laws over for dinner and decided to get BBQ. We opted for the family pulled pork dinner that feeds 3-4 people, with a large side of baked beans, potato salad and buns. We also ordered one lb of chopped chicken just in case we needed more food. We were underwhelmed when we opened the package but we ended up having leftovers. Their pulled pork was tender but lacked that smoky flavor I want with BBQ. The baked beans was on the sweeter side, but enjoyed the pineapple bits added. Potato salad was nice with crunch from celery/green pepper, I couldn't really tell but wish it had some onion pieces. My fave though was the sliced chicken - it was so tender and flavorful. Similar to most BBQ spaces( no table service) although staff did come to the table and asked if we were "OK" and wanted to order some drinks. I found this to be a touch above other BBQ restaurants. The drink with the best bang for your buck would be the Rita, as the others are smaller, and could use a little bit more alcohol. Grab a barbecue rack and try the various sauces before you put any on your meat! I loved the GA Peach. There is a unisex restroom but also they have gendered restrooms. This restaurant also offers live entertainment as tonight they will be having a wrestling match ! everything was really great, I would, however skip the potato salad. Picked up a quick lunch for DAS BBQ. Today wasn't my favorite experience with this establishment, my ribs were a little over seasoned and my portion size was a little small on the ribs. When paying $16 for a half slab, you expect nothing but perfection. The Mac and cheese was yummy as usual. Great atmosphere for outdoor seating. Will I go back ? I've been going to Das probably weekly since they opened since it's around the corner and have loved it. How and ever....my last 3 visits have not been so well. - Out of stock items - How is a bbq place out of ribs AND brisket at 2 pm. - Customer Service Slipping bad - Rude and untrained staff are the frequent. Today I watched a young lady give my order to someone else. The man opens the box, looks thru it, and then informs her it's not his order. She returned it to the Togo station and I waited another 10 mins until I had to ask for my order. They then proceeded to give me the order that the other customer touched. After I told the cashier about it, the (I'm assuming) manager came back and kind of dismissively asked "so what's the problem" I explained and she said well sorry but this is all the ribs we have left (it's 5pm) So I had to take and she offered nothing to fix it. That's not just some germaphobe thing, that's a health code violation. Anyway. Das you are a gem of a restaurant. Don't lose your flare. Step it up please. I would love to revise this. Oh and take the excessive amount of pineapples out the baked beans please or just remove them all together. It was cute at first now it's a fruit salad. Love yall! read more

My husband and I stopped by for a quick lunch today. Unfortunately, the experience started off poorly. Upon arrival, no one greeted us even though two employees were standing right by the entrance, engaged in conversation. It was my first time here, so I wasn't sure where to place an order. I had to walk over to the bar to ask, and even then, the bartender didn't acknowledge us until I directly asked where to order. Mad respect to Das BBQ!! As a Texan I'm always suspect of "Texas-style" BBQ joints out of state, but this place is legit. Ben, the GM, slid me a sample of the brisket and this would crush in Texas. I know, I've judged a professional BBQ cook-off or two. The bark is perfect. Even thickness, great flavor and consistency. The sauce is on point. Not too sweet, complex, and gives depth. I'd prefer more black pepper but I like my sauce spicier than most - this sauce hits exactly where it needs to. The service is excellent. It's just warm and friendly - they make you feel like a regular. Kayla poured us beers and was an absolute joy to engage with. It's painfully obvious that Ben takes deep pride in the service and food, and it's awesome to see. This place feels like a small-town Texas BBQ joint - warmth, character, and quality. The only "knock" I can thing of is the wood selection, and that's not even a knock. They use hickory instead of oak or mesquite, and it works. The smoke is a light flavor, but it does a great job accentuating the flavor of the brisket. I tasted notes of brisket I hadn't noticed before. I got there around 2:30 pm and wanted to try several meats. I went for the 2 combo platter with pulled pork and brisket (they were out of ribs for the next 30 minutes, because a giant party had come in an hour before me). The person at the counter was friendly and helpful, felt like I was almost coming to his house. For sides, I knew I wanted the smoked beans, the person at the counter advised the Das corn which I went with over potato salad which is my usual, this turned out to be a mistake. I loved the Brisket and Pork, Brisket had an excellent bark and the sauces they have are great. The beans to me were the star, a little sweet but deeply smokey. The Das Corn was my least favorite item, as it felt a little jumbled, with the cheese, Jalapeno, and sweetness all not melding. I want to go back to try the ribs. In my opinion, this location is the best because there's more seating, pets are welcomed, the service is great, and I like the food better than the Collier location. The staff makes sure we're comfortable and have all the condiments (silverware, sauces, drinks, correct order, etc.). The only drawback is the limited parking. The patrons have to compete with the visitors to the Oakland Cemetery for spaces. There is a parking lot (kind of) behind the restaurant, but it's full. I ordered DAS BBQ on DoorDash and it was not worth the $120 I paid. The brisket was more like jerky. It was so dry and overcooked. The collard greens had no seasoning and tasted like old greens soaked in vinegar. The brownies were burnt on the bottom.
