Das BBQ was a great place to meet up with others and has a great space. The food was good but I think there's better options for bbq in Atlanta. I'd be back again when there's events there though!

Das BBQ was perfect for lunch, honestly tons of food, so maybe too much for lunch, but it was good and tasty so it was worth it. First, I highly recommend the pulled pork. It had so much flavor, not too much fat, and was a great sandwich with the bbq sauce. The brisket was also very good; tender, moist, and a huge portion, which was great for our first time. Lastly, the mac and cheese was good, maybe not the best I've ever had, but still very good and worth getting it as a side. I can't wait to get back and try a few more things.

Great BBQ. Two people told me this was the best Q in Atlanta, and who am I to doubt them. It's the only one I've been to here and I thought the brisket and pulled pork were fantastic. Texas style I read somewhere. Hella delicious style is what I would call it! Collard greens too, which had an interesting slight vinegar/pickle flavor. It's a five star joint in my eyes. But I will say that the mac and cheese was just very good, and not off the chart like the rest of my meal. If that was a point off, they got the point back for having a good selection of beer! Lots of seating inside and out. A nice place to go on evenings and weekends because they have games outside and a great hangout vibe. Kudos to the staff for the great service. And an extra thanks to the really cool brother who was in line in front of me. It was a true act of hospitality the way he shared about his favorites on the menu. I was completely surprised in a "this would never happen in California" way when he even invited me to step in front of him in line to order. Good gosh, almighty folks are cool down here.

Nice little setup outside as well as inside. , the service was friendly. The brisket was a bit dry, but the food as a whole was tasty. The Das corn caught me by surprise with a little spice/peppers in the creamed corn. Parkin was a challenge, but it was a good visit and good meal.

I loved the ambiance! 5/5 It's nice and spacious, with an indoor and outdoor space curated for large or small parties to relax, eat and drink. (A dope Brent Faiyez playlist made a total vibe!) Service 5/5- "Q" was the name of our attendant and he was welcoming and had a pleasant disposition. Food 3/5- Ribs were kinda' dry but the smoked turkey was delicious! The macaroni and cheese was a bit greasy and tasteless. The collard greens lacked flavor but the peach cobbler was tasty!

Wow... after touring the Carter Center, my friend brought me and my grandson here for lunch. The meal was excellent and the service was impeccable. We enjoyed dining outdoors on a breezy late winter afternoon. After the sumptuous meal, we had an extended walk through Oakland Cemetery due to its proximity. It topped off a wonderful day.

3 Meat Combination Plate (Pork, Brisket & Ribs)

4.25* (out of 5) Food: 4* Atmosphere: 5* Value: 4* Service: 4* 03/15/2024 A downtown tour guide commented on how good their BBQ is and that he especially liked the Peach BBQ sauce, so we just had to give it a try on our way out of the downtown area. The curb appeal and decor are definitely attractive - a mix of modern with a rustic cabin vibe. While urged to order more, we opted to share the 3 Meat Combination Plate with Pork, Brisket & Ribs - with Mac & Cheese & Brisket Chili for sides (see picture). I found all of the meats as well as the BBQ sauces above average. I'm a bit of a brisket 'snob' as I make it at home and prefer it wrapped tight and very juicy. This had a great smoke rink and flavor...but the juiciness wasn't quite at the top. The Macaroni & Cheese was excellent - not only creamy and flavorful, but also a great smoke taste. While it was a little on the pricey side for just one person ($30), there was enough food to serve both of us - so I rated the Value above average. If you find yourself in the downtown area with a hunger for BBQ, this is definitely a solid stop. If you found this review helpful, please show your appreciation with a Like or a Follow. Our waitress was Erica. She made our visit a culinary experience to remember for the ages. She took our order orders and made the best Side-Car cocktail ever. One of the managers came out to ensure we were being taken care, and we were. The food was delicious and worth the trip.

I see why this place is always empty the parking.. oh wait there is no parking .. the ordering system is a fail plate says in come with 2 sides but get charge for them .. only for my food to come out quick and was cold . The corn dish is ‍ mac was dry .. 3 dollars extra for one slice of brisket .. sausage was not hot it was under cooked .. both sauces nasty. only good thing was the wings .. 9/10 times I will not be back

I'm not going to enjoy writing this review, but you have to give an honest opinion and my thoughts are pretty average. You can tell whoever bought this place, sunk a ton of money into it. I've never seen so much smoking equipment. They have 5 industrial size smokers right in front of the restaurant. The space is huge and there was hardly anyone there on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. We came here for bocce courts, while the outside is nice, it's next to a busy road and close enough to the interstate where you hear the constant humming of cars. It kind of ruins the outside esthetic. I ordered the wings and brisket, with cream corn and baked beans. I would go back just for the corn, the cheese and pepper flavor if so good, it taste like shaved elotes. The wings were alright but pretty dry. I understand bbq is usually made the morning of, and served to order. But I've had smoked wings a lot and these were sitting out for a while. My favorite smoked wings are the local. The brisket was okay, a good bark a mediocre cut, and not very juicy. The baked beans were a bit saucy and okay. What I will say is there bbq sauce choices were awful. Not enough choices, and too much vinegar. It is my personal preference but I hate vinegar forward bbq sauce. The drinks are very good, and they have jack and coke for only 5 bucks! Even though the margs come out of a tap, they are pretty good. The service was generally pretty nice. Again I hate writing a meh review but my experience was that. I hold a high standard for bbq and the only one in Atlanta I stand by is heirloom. Bottom line I won't be back, unless some friends want to go. I don't like the interstate and big money atmosphere. I would likely pass up the food unless it was the corn!

This is only my second time having DAS BBQ and this was pleasant experience, but this time was a takeout order. We had my in laws over for dinner and decided to get BBQ. We opted for the family pulled pork dinner that feeds 3-4 people, with a large side of baked beans, potato salad and buns. We also ordered one lb of chopped chicken just in case we needed more food. We were underwhelmed when we opened the package but we ended up having leftovers. Their pulled pork was tender but lacked that smoky flavor I want with BBQ. The baked beans was on the sweeter side, but enjoyed the pineapple bits added. Potato salad was nice with crunch from celery/green pepper, I couldn't really tell but wish it had some onion pieces. My fave though was the sliced chicken - it was so tender and flavorful. My only gripe with this was they didn't include BBQ sauce in our order, but we keep BBQ sauce at home at all times anyway.

Excellent service and really good wings. This is an order at the counter and take your tray kinda- setup. Similar to most BBQ spaces( no table service) although staff did come to the table and asked if we were "OK" and wanted to order some drinks. I found this to be a touch above other BBQ restaurants. The drink with the best bang for your buck would be the Rita, as the others are smaller, and could use a little bit more alcohol. Grab a barbecue rack and try the various sauces before you put any on your meat! I loved the GA Peach. There is a unisex restroom but also they have gendered restrooms. This restaurant also offers live entertainment as tonight they will be having a wrestling match ! everything was really great, I would, however skip the potato salad. It needed a little bit more mayo, but besides that the meat is smoked well and tasty.

First time visiting Atlanta and had to stop by and try out this highly rated establishment and so happy I made it part of my list. We arrived towards the end of the night with enough time before closing but obviously not realizing there are a few dishes that sell out so keep that in mind. Nevertheless service was stand out once we walked in and were kindly greeted by the host. We then sat down at our table and were then greeted with our server Tiffany. Let me just say we need a Tiffany everywhere, this girl really went above and beyond and truly welcomed us and genuinely was just a pleasure to interact with through out the whole visit. She really wanted to give us the best experience and recommendations for our first visit and let me just say everything was amazing and the service was top tier, such a great place with a great atmosphere, service and amazing food. What more can you ask for. She would def be the reason we visit Atlanta again and go back to eat here.

If there was a rub, it was subtle to the point of being almost untasteable. Quarter rack of Ribs: poor. Meaty, but far too tough, definitely not fall off the bone. Again lacking in flavor, and burnt in spots. Side of Mac n Cheese: easily the start of the show. Very flavorful, baked and not swimming in cheese sauce, possible notes of ritz crackers detected. I'd have eaten a main course sized portion, and imagine it could mix well with pulled pork or chopped brisket, should Matt's ever consider expanding their repertoire of meats. Side of potato salad: also very solid. Simple but nicely flavored, just creamy enough. Side of collards: fine but unremarkable. Bbq sauce: decent-ish, more tangy than sweet. Very thick. Packaging : Matt's really could improve here. The ribs and chicken, piled together between two slices of white bread, was wrapped in white paper which was in turn stuffed into a paper bag with the containers of sides. This was messy- yes, bbq is by nature a messy undertaking, but a clamshell container would've made the whole fiasco a lot easier to deal with. A fork and spoon were included, no knife... and no napkins. Really? For a paper wrapped oversauced pile of meat... not even a single napkin? I honestly would've been fine paying an extra buck or so for some better packaging and, IDK, maybe a wetnap. Overall, this bbq lover was unimpressed. Perhaps the rave reviews made my expectations too high. I've honestly had better bbq at multiple places in my relative bbq desert hometown of Boston. I was hoping for a real treat during my business trip to Atlanta; instead, I'm yearning for the joint near my suburban New England home...

Hotel that proudly…read moreadvertises a "hot breakfast" consisting of powdered eggs, coffee that tastes vaguely of burnt hazelnuts, and general disappointment. This particular morning in Atlanta was no different. As I pushed uninspired scrambled eggs around my plate I did what any food-obsessed traveler does: I opened the Michelin Guide. Surely Atlanta had something worth driving for before the afternoon meetings began. The city's Michelin stars leaned heavily toward pristine sushi counters where lunch could easily become a three-hour exercise in restraint and expense. Not today. Instead, a Bib Gourmand caught my eye. Heirloom Market BBQ. The address looked odd. The photos looked even stranger. Was Michelin seriously recommending what appeared to be a convenience store? Naturally, I was intrigued. The closer I looked, the less it resembled your grandfather's barbecue joint. Yes, there was brisket and pork. But there was also kimchi. Pickled vegetables. Gochujang. Color. Acid. Freshness. Suddenly the idea of barbecue for lunch didn't feel like signing up for an afternoon food coma. By 11:30, I was standing in line beside construction workers, office employees, and locals who clearly knew something I didn't. I ordered the smoked, diced, and braised spicy pork topped with kimchi slaw and cucumber kimchi. Korean barbecue sauce arrived on the side. For good measure, I added the green tomato kimchi--a mix of sweet and spicy pickled green tomatoes, jalapeños, and radishes. The pork was everything good barbecue should be. Tender without falling apart. Smoky without becoming bitter. Moist without relying on sauce. Deeply satisfying in that primitive way smoked meat always seems to be. The green tomato kimchi was extraordinary. Bright, crunchy, layered with acidity, sweetness, and just enough jalapeño heat to keep your attention. Every bite reset your palate before the next forkful of pork. It's the kind of side dish that refuses to stay a side dish. The Korean barbecue sauce deserves its own paragraph. Gochujang led the charge, backed by enough vinegar to cut through the richness and enough heat to remind you someone in the kitchen enjoys having fun. Against all odds, I managed to finish lunch without wearing any of it on my green Oxford shirt. A personal victory. Heirloom Market isn't polished. Service is efficient rather than memorable. You order, you eat, you leave. That's the point. What lingers isn't the hospitality. It's the confidence. This kitchen knows exactly what it wants to be. Southern barbecue filtered through Korean flavors isn't a gimmick here--it's the language they speak fluently. The entire meal reminded me of La Barbecue in Austin, another place where smoke is only part of the conversation. Michelin eventually rewarded La Barbecue with a star. Heirloom may still wear the Bib Gourmand designation, but when it comes to flavor, it's operating in the same league. Will I return? Without hesitation. Sometimes the best meal in town isn't hidden behind velvet curtains or reservation apps. Sometimes it's tucked inside what looks like an old convenience store, quietly reminding everyone that extraordinary food rarely cares about appearances.
