This is one of our go-to bbq spots! Great for take-out, delivery, or dining in. Large parking lot, easy ordering, plenty of space to dine in, and a bar inside as well. Every meal and side we have had from here has been great. The pork spare ribs and smoked wings are my standout meats here, they are so smoky and flavorful. The collard greens are perfectly savory and delicious, we tried the potato salad for the first time and it's my favorite I've had so far, it's not sweet at all which is my preference. My wife, stepdaughter, son-in-law, and I stopped by Pit Boss BBQ while passing through Atlanta. I had the pulled chicken BBQ sandwich along with the dry rub wings. The pulled chicken sandwich was good, but unfortunately the wings were a disappointment. They lacked flavor and weren't enjoyable enough for me to finish. My wife and son-in-law both had the pulled pork and thought it was good. My stepdaughter ordered the brisket and described it as just "okay." The service was underwhelming. The staff didn't seem particularly interested in helping, and the self-serve ice machine repeatedly jammed. The dining area also could have used a little more attention to cleanliness. Overall, the food ranged from okay to good, but nothing stood out enough to make us want to come back. With so many great BBQ options around Atlanta, I'd recommend trying somewhere else. read more

After telling the cashier that this is my first time when actually it's really my second but the first time, they ran out of brisket, so I left. Two years later, I'm back! Anyway. She let me know how I can order properly and also help me determine what size brisket I want. She assisted me with an option that isn't on the menu and it was perfect for just me. Add the sauce and whoa just whoa! We tried the brisket (B-), ribs (A), rib tips (B+), baked Beans (B+), mac n cheese (B+), Greens & potato salad (B). However the absolute star of the restaurant are the smoked wings. My goodness smoked to perfection, flavorful, crispy but juicy! I highly recommend adding the lemon pepper seasoning to take the smoked wings to an orbital level. Overall, the best bbq I've had in the Atlanta area. I've been here previously to the old location in the old building by myself. The second time visiting I went with my sister Medinah a couple of years ago in the new building. The food here is good and delicious. I didn't try the whole menu so I can't speak on all of that. My go to entree's are the smoked wings with fries and the brisket sandwich with sauce! Came across this place while in town for the weekend. It was a very spacious restaurant with a bar in the front and they had live entertainment. You come in and order at the back whether you are dining in or doing carry-out. I got my order to go but if you dine in you place your order and then choose where you want to sit and they bring your food to your table. Since I did carry out I waited near the back and they called my name when my order was ready. The staff were very friendly and it didn't take long to receive my order. I ordered the platter with 3 meats so I could try different items. I had the smoked wings, brisket and rib tips. The meats were very tender. The wings were well seasoned. Stopped in yesterday during the cold, windy snowy day we were having in Atlanta. This place was an old favorite, and I hadn't been in a really long time, and was hungry for the comfort of some tender BBQ Ribs .... Well, the young lady at the counter was super sweet in delivering the bad news that they were completely out of Ribs and Chicken :( So not to be outdone, they do serve a true "chopped pork" sandwich and it's really delicious- their sauce is good and they put plenty of meat on it. That sandwich coupled with Slaw and Fries worked out fine.... But I'm still wanting those ribs today. Also grabbed a slice of pound cake...it was delicious also. I absolutely recommend this place and will be back for ribs real soon. The food was so disappointing. I ordered the 3 meat plate but they were out of both Rob types and wings so I had the rib tips, pulled pork, and brisket. My two sides were baked beans and collard greens. I added an extra side of coleslaw. First the salt level is out of this world on everything even the coleslaw! All of the bar was over cooked and dried out. The brisket was the worst. It was hard, dried out, and chewy. The pulled pork was dry and chewy. The rib tips were ok, I believe the fat saved them on the inside but they were the most salty. The collard greens tasted like just greens with a lot of salt. The baked beans were ok just like the bush's can. The coleslaw amazingly was salty as well and had a strange celery salt flavor. Without the drink and extra side, this was absolutely not worth $38. Everything came to $43 without tip. The amount of food was not the best either, my hand is in the photo for reference. I'm ok with that though because if I ate it all I would probably greet high blood pressure. Service was quick and polite. Ambiance was like an old school bar so a bit loud but expected. Horrible customer service!!! I've been coming here for years because 98% of the time the food is great. But the service has ALWAYS been terrible, especially the old location across the street. Now the new location can accommodate more but the service still stinks!!! Ordered lunch earlier today to pickup later this afternoon. Came to pick it up and they say they ran out of the food item I ordered. They also claimed they tried to call me. The manager lied to my face about the call - we all know how cell phones work, there is a missed call log or voicemail. Secondly I had to still ask for a refund. if you knew you didn't have what I ordered, then refund me immediately!!! I guess I'll finally give up on them. read more

The food was amazing! Pulled pork, sliced brisket, sausage on a bun, pork rinds (Cajun & lemon pepper mixed together) and Juice Quest & Orange Diva local beers. Brisket sandwich 10/10! Absolutely delicious and you get a nice amount. By itself, it's smokey with the right amount of salty. Add a little bbq sauce, I tried both hot and regular, hot has a nice not to hot kick, but mixed with the regular and it's the perfect combination. Greens 9.6/10! Really flavorful, only reason it's not a ten, at least for me, I needed a little vinegar just to add depth. But very tender and all-around good. Peach cobbler 3/10 Too doughy, and not enough peaches. I prefer more peach than crust. It was honestly a little underbaked. Good amount of sweetness but not much more flavor. No cinnamon, no nutmeg...etc! Peach tea...I added a little to the regular sweet tea, and it was a good pairing. The little peach tea I did add had a very peachy flavor and lessened the sweetness, which was perfect. But we are in the south, and i know how sacred sweet tea is, so....the sweeter the better. Solid BBQ joint! read more

I ordered the three meats but was disappointed to find out they were all out of ribs! Before we left, they apparently ran out of chopped chicken, also. My husband really like the burger with brisket on it. I thought all three meats were flavorful, and the brisket was moist! I didn't get to taste the bbq sauce until we were about to leave. I tasted the mild one and it was good, but a bit watery (not thick like a normal bbq sauce). I also liked the collards. The Mac and cheese was not very good (lacked flavor and the cheese was a bit grainy). The bathrooms were very clean! Here for work. Many different people all said "Pit Boss!" When I asked for a good bbq joint. So I checked Yelp. And headed over. Vibe check. 1. Smells smokey and meaty. Off to a good start. 2. I got a 3 meat combo w two sides and a cup of water. Priced fairly. Food came hot and correct. Pulled pork was piled and seasoned and tasty. Brisket had bark and was in nice bite sized chunks. Didn't need sauce but sauce was yummy. I got the baby back ribs and they were meaty and tender with delicious flavor. The collard greens had good pot liquor and flavor with generous meat bits. So soft and well stewed!! And the baked beans were excellent and hot. The corn bread was firm and had corn chunks. It wasn't overly sweet or so fragile you couldn't dip it. The water was cold and likely filtered as I didn't catch that pool water tap water funk that some places have. To be clear. ALL OF THE STAFF were friendly , smiling and genuinely welcoming. But the young lady in charge of walking the dining area ? Dude !! She probably checked in little ole me alone at least 3-4 times and It wasn't cuzza my looks! She just genuinely seemed to at least on some level care that I was doing ok. What more can you ask for ? The outside is kinda unassuming and gimmick free. This was my first and last time coming to this establishment. I went with a friend of mines. I WAS going to order online, however the menu online does not match the menu on the website -- something they should fix as a matter of efficiency. I ordered my food via the telephone. We got a full rack of ribs with baked beans, mac & cheese and cornbread. 1/2 lb of rib tips, potato salad, cornbread. When we got there, we saw they had desserts. We got German chocolate cake and pound cake. My friend did not like the ribs because they were boiled and stringy (he doesn't eat out for BBQ because he does a good job on his own grill at home, so he was not enthused). The BAKED BEANS! They should be ASHAMED! SERIOUSLY! The presentation of the baked beans looks like a can of pork and beans. NOTHING but BEANS, no onions, no brisket or meat in it, JUST beans. They doctored them up to taste fine, but the presentation is atrocious. He said the mac & cheese was average. Rib tips- average. The cornbread was homemade, and I like buttery cornbread, but this was not. The potato salad needs to be renamed on the menu to add MUSTARD potato salad. Which I do NOT like. ALL it was, was potatoes and mustard, I didn't see any onions, relish or any OTHER thing besides potatoes. My friend said he liked the German chocolate cake. The pound cake was moist but salty.
