This is a decent spot for Japanese food in Midtown, though it doesn't quite reach the level of some of the places I've been in OTP. The restaurant itself is charming as they have private booths with curtains, which makes for a cozy dining experience. I ordered the sukiyaki with a mini chirashi and shared the okonomiyaki. The chirashi was the really good because the fish was fresh and flavorful. However, the sukiyaki was a bit too salty for my palate, and the beef was slightly overcooked. The okonomiyaki was enjoyable, though I personally would have loved a bit more sauce to round it out. The interior of this place is very cool and thoughtfully designed. The service is also top notch, each table has a button to call your server and mine came super fast every time i needed them. I got the ramen and 2 sushi rolls set, and it came out quickly. The portion was perfect size for a big meal for 1 person, or if you have 2 people you could split it and add an appetizer and it would be perfect. The shoyu yuzu chicken ramen was delicious, very fresh and flavorful toppings and great noodles and broth. I got the spicy tuna and crunchy yellowtail for sushi rolls, and of these i liked the crunchy yellowtail more but they were both really good. It's been a little while since I've been here, but my sister and I were really craving some quality sushi. However, we were slightly disappointed. We both got separate orders of the Four Seasons and spicy tuna rolls, which has become a bit of a staple pairing for me at this restaurant, but the fish didn't taste as fresh as it usually did and the seaweed was very hard to cut as if it we sitting out. I haven't had dinner here, though I would think it would be just as good as lunch. Service was friendly and quick, and the interior is pretty. I didn't think it would be from the outside walking by, but it's nice and felt private, which is good for conversation. Unfortunately service wasn't good, the food was just okay and we won't be coming back. We were seated at the bar and received very slow service. Nagomiya has a lot of things going well for it, they have an attached parking lot (accessible from W Peachtree) where they validate parking for two hours. The ambience is perfect for date night with private booths and a button to call the server. My friend and I ordered cheese karaage and spicy shrimp sumai. The cheese karaage is Korean fried chicken bites topped with cheese (delicious) The appetizers were both priced $7-$8. We ordered a spicy crunchy shrimp roll from the classic rolls section and a midnight roll from the signature rolls section. While we had an overall decent experience at this place, I'm only giving them 3 stars. We didn't have a reservation so the hostess mentioned the only table available were the high tops next to entrance. We opted to sit there and a server brought us waters right away. We waited for a loooong time for our drinks. Probably 20 mins before we got it. Mind you, the restaurant was not at full capacity. Since we were near the hostess stand, people were getting turned away because all tables are booked but there were tons of empty seats at the sushi bar and regular bar. The entire time we were there, only 3 or 4 parties who had reservations came yet there were still empty seats in the restaurant. Aside from that, we also waited a looooong time for our food. Our salad came 30 mins after ordering, then 15 mins later, the two more complicated rolls came first and last was the spicy tuna roll. We were thinking our server may have missed the spicy tuna roll because it took awhile for us to get it. We observed the other people around us get their food shortly after ordering but we just didn't get the same luck I guess. Their food though was pretty tasty. The salad was good with the crunchy bits on top. All the sushi rolls we ordered were good too. Parking was kinda tricky. You park in the 10 West apartments and pay for it but the hostess has info on how to get your parking validated. Essentially, parking will be refunded if you get it validated. read more

What a treat. My husband and I stopped by on a whim as this spot was close to the hotel we were staying and he was dying for some sushi. To start the tables are super intimate with drawn curtains. Super unique. They also have a button you press when you need your waitress. This was hard for us to adapt to, but also very unique. They never took it off unless I decided to return my food. I was faced with accept it or don't When I spoke to the host about it, she said she would talk to management; however, she said she didn't know very much about sushi.
