We came on a Sunday afternoon. The atmosphere was quiet and not so crowded so why not. We started with the rib tip appetizer. It was okay. They have an assortment of sauces with traditional, golden, and another one I can't remember. I'm a Carolina girl so golden sauce will always be my go to. As you can see in the picture, the rib tips are seasoned and fork tender. However, there was nothing special about them. It wasn't nasty but there wasn't a "wow" factor either. Because of the appetizer, I decided play it safe and ordered a Cobb salad with pork. Again, the salad was just okay, nothing wow. I would recommend that the salad needed some special seasoning or something to give it that umpf. Overall, service was nice, clean space, nice quiet day to enjoy lunch but I feel the chef is playing it safe with the food. For a bbq joint, I expected a flavor party. This restaurant space has been unoccupied for quite some time so I have been eager to see what would replace the last business. Well bay-beeee this new restaurant did not disappoint! It is still a BBQ restaurant but this time, it is black owned and the proprietor is Cam Newton. The layout is the same as when it was Smoke Ring and it is still spacious and clean. I sat at the bar and originally came to try the ribs and the brisket but the Mayor had a large order that day that wiped them out of both meats. Therefore, I redirected and ordered the Fried Pickles, the Sampler Plate with 1/4 chicken and pulled pork with the sweet and spicy BBQ sauces, dirty rice, and collard greens to eat and the house margarita to drink. When I say EVERYTHING was delicious?!! I was pleasantly surprised that the meats were so tender and the sides were so flavorful! The bartender/bar manager Khas was dope as heck! He was pleasant, patient, personable, and made my experience 100% awesome! I will most certainly be back and look forward to becoming a regular at this spot. read more

We stumbled across this place as we parked in the parking deck next door. We had two hours to kill before the game started so we decided to go check it out and watch the Georgia before we headed to the stadium for the Atlanta United game. As soon as I walked in I didn't feel the vibe. Not one worker greeted us, we say the sign that said " please seat yourself" so me and my friends found a table and sat down. We waited about 10 minutes to see if anyone would come to us but nope. There were other customers there but no one came around after they got their food. After 10 minutes went by I decided to wave down a server. She came took our orders, brought us out drinks and someone else brought us out food. We didn't see her again until i waved an employee down AGAIN for our check. The place wasn't even busy for them to not serve us. And I was annoyed that they automatically added 18% gratuity for 3 people because they didn't deserve it! Parking Being right downtown I assumed I would have to pay for parking. To my pleasant surprise I was able to find free street parking close by. If you aren't able to find street parking, I did notice a garage around the corner. Service Our waitress was kind, attentive and answered our questions about the menu. Food They do have happy hour specials. I arrived just after happy hour ended so I wasn't able to take advantage of any of the deals. I ordered smokey marg and the fish plate. The plate came with two sides and I decided on greens and the mac & cheese. My marg was good - a bit too sweet to compliment the smokey flavor but still a good drink. The fish had great flavor and cooked well. My favorite part of my meal was the collard greens. The mac & cheese disappointed me - it was too heavily seasoned with garlic powder. 12/30/2023 @ 4:00pm approximate arrival. I would not recommend anyone to go to this resturant. I only gave it a two(food) because my wife liked the burger. First, there is automatically a 15% gratuity added to your bill (I tip well for good service as I used to work for service when I was younger). Force tip promotes crappy service. She took our order and never saw her again until the bill after 5pm. She already printed them ahead of time. No refills on drinks, how you are doing, NOTHING. She had no name tag and wore a yellow shirt. She went by indi on the receipt. This place should of been packed wall to wall since a stones throw to the Mercedes Benz stadium. No manager/owner checking in customers. Bartender brought out the food. No condiments on the table, we had to get up and go ask for them from the bartender. Again waitress no where to be seen or helpful. Food Appetizer, Pretzel had no flavor and cheese dip was over cooked Pulled pork sandwich was dry and wasn't a fan of the sauce (maybe it was just because of the little amount of sauce). Fries were great for some odd reason. Presentation looked good. My wife liked the stallion burger and fries. But again no service for refills. This is for the owner. Now this was really odd, drinks come out in a plastic solo type cup and silverware was pre-packaged white fork and knife with napkin salt and pepper. We checked out Smokey Stallion after leaving a Falcons game last month and had a hankering for some good BBQ. Smokey Stallion delivered on the good BBQ but was entirely average when it came to every other aspect. They didn't have half the sides advertised on the menu and said they hadn't offered those for a while. The drinks were fine and the other guests were enjoying themselves after a Falcons win! We took home half our meals for the next day so the portion sizes were definitely respectable. I got the brisket plate and I loved the baked beans and dirty rice sides. The problem I had is that the brisket plate was the third entree I ordered and baked beans were the second side I ordered. You can't tell customers that 3 or 4 things on the menu are not available. You've either got to adjust your hours or adjust your menu, because that's no way to run a restaurant. It's probably fine to eat here during lunch or afternoon hours, because they probably haven't run out of anything at those times. But I can't recommend eating dinner there to anyone knowing there are potential issues with what is on the menu vs what they can actually serve. I went to eat here on a Saturday before a concert. The service was awful. It took 10 mins for them to even get our drink order. The drink order came out 15 mins after that. Only one drink came out. We had been sitting for 30 minutes one of the drinks never came out but our food came out long before. There was maybe 15 people in the restaurant but the service was not willing to take care of anyone but people at the bar. Multiple people walked out before their order was even taken. read more

our experience here was probably the worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant. honestly. waitress was super kind and took our order, and it was on a really good track. 40 minutes went by refill our drinks. Next 30 minutes, there was only one table left, and a couple people at the bar, a member of a group went up and asked for an update our food. I went with them. They asked me out soon, if not, we understood but were just going to leave. About 15 minutes later, they brought half of our food out, forgot my numbers food and had to make it. Then charge does the phone out plus gratuity at 15%(we had six people at our table) when the food did come out (an hour and 37 minutes later) it was not good. I was just really disappointed.
