This is one of my favorite places for Sunday brunch that I hit up often when meeting up with my friend from Bellingham. It is quiet worth the drive from Seattle. The owner and staff are amazingly friendly and the food is incredible. This is one of those hidden gem spots located out in a cute farm town. If you go get there early because this place is popular. Phenomenal meal here - we shared the Torta Rustica, and took home a fantastic cranberry-macadamia-chocolate crisp thing the size of a thin book, as well as a near-perfect biscotti for next day's breakfast. Everything is prepared with care and attention to detail - even the side salad that came with the tort was exceptional. Micro-sized pickled peppers were a novelty on the salad. SHITTY SERVICE. I called ahead and was told to pick it up in five mins. I came in 10 mins. They asked me to wait in the "order" line while my food sat for 15 mins outside on the porch. I stood in line for 15 mins to pick up my food. Screw this place! read more

I love this place. The service is great and the food is delicious. It's usually pretty busy on the weekends, but worth the wait.

My husband and I were lucky to visit Tweets on. A Friday morning that they were open with no line but by the time we were finished there was a long line, I wouldn't let that stop you from going though because it was so worth it! I started with a cappuccino (steamed perfectly) and a pastry. We also ordered a couple entrees - shrimp and grits and lamb chops. The shrimp were HUGE and everything on the plate complimented each other to make for the perfect bite - baked grits, shrimp, oven roasted tomato, olives and pork belly. Each entree was under $20 which to me is a star for the quality of the dish. I SO recommend Tweets and we will be going back whenever we can. read more

A gem in the middle of nowhere. This very popular, tiny restaurant offers beautifully plated, delicious, creative food. The service is s..l..o..w but, I'm not sure how they could speed up their service, as there is no room for another person behind the counter. Take a something to read, or do as several people there were doing while waiting for their food: bring a game to play. The food is worth the wait. The hot chocolate was terrific. read more

Love this place! Bring cash. Located in the heart of Old Edison, this little Café is a treasure. The food is delicious and savory. Terrific combinations for breakfast and lunch. Get cozy with other dinners. Baked goods and coffee are great too. I love how inclusive and rustic this place is. We are lucky to have them here in the Skagit Valley. I enjoy the "Rustica". It is a layered meat, cheese and veggie hearty tort that's so yummy. I have to bring home leftovers. read more

The espresso was good, and sooo cheap. A double shot for $1? Com'on. Interior is clean but strangely empty. Proprietor/barista said he only recently took over business. Nice guy but may need to raise prices so he can afford some furniture. read more

We shared the Torta Rustica and it was more than enough for two people. Fantastic flavors, beautiful presentation in a very unassuming and casual laid back cafe. Everyone working here seemed proud to be there and the food was presented with care. I saw someone order the pizza and just about ordered a second entree, but it's something to look forward to on another visit to Tweets! My partner and I recently happened across Tweets just before closing time. The owners were very gracious and chatted with us about their shop and all of the great activity happening in the community. Tweets is good for a leisurely browse -- with perhaps some of their ice cream while shopping -- and we definitely plan on a return visit when we'll have a little more time to check it all out. read more

If it's the weekend they will probably be busy so prepare yourself...they do pretty well considering the size of their space. Had the Torta Rustica 6 months ago - loved it! Then tried to come back several times, but they were closed. Tried again, and realized they only took cash/check, and there was no ATM around. Tried once more, after checking website to see if they were open, but unfortunately they were closed again! Finally, I learned to call first! This time, my food was great, but my sons cold salmon over greasy potato's was terrible. And the Frittata order lacked overall flavor. Cookies were amazing. I really can't fault a place with the guts to have an ever changing menu, when they come up with an occasional flop! Places like this are why Edison is on the map! read more

Seriously now, it doesn't get much better than this. It was a quiet day, after a big windy storm, and with kid in tow, it was time for lunch in Edison. What a nice tweet. A handwritten menu on a chalk board with things like "Torta Rustica", "Smoked Salmon Sandwich" and "Lamb Burger." Yum. Yum. Yum. When I found out they smoked the salmon themselves, the choice was made and after a quick check, the kid in tow was game. Super moist bread, house-made aioli, tender greens, thin sliced fennel and a dallop of capers topped my sandwich. Sandwich doesn't really do the meal before me justice. It was more like a masterpiece. About 3 luscious bites in, the Chef had to duck outside. Why? To go stoke the fire for more smoked salmon. Did I already say yum? Our side salad was nearly as memorable as the sandwich, mostly because my daughter ate the whole thing and then asked Chef what the dressing was. Small talk with the owners, discussing just how you can make a vineagrette taste that good. Apparently it's in the "emulsification". Hmmm.... There must be a secret ingredient. My boyfriend had the Lamb Burger and it was nice and spicy with just the right amount of blue cheese. my friend and i stumbled upon tweets during a recent road trip. they were about to close but the place looked so lovely that we decided to return in the morning. being handed a huge bunch of fragrant lavender (gratis) was the additional enticement... not only was the coffee great and our breakfast/brunch delicious (a wild mushroom omlette with lightly roasted potatoes and an eggs bennie served over an amazing house made biscuit and lovely arugula, cherry tomatoes and fresh figs), the owner, Charles, and the two chefs who were whipping up the amazing eats from a tiny open kitchen, were friendly, chatty and very funny. it was such a wonderful way to start our day! we left not only completely satisfied (post-breakfast, Jessica couldn't resist the peach strawberry pie, which was to die for) but also with handfuls of beautiful produce (chard, beets, zucchinis) grown by Charles on a nearby island farm. we will definitely return! read more

I agree with the other reviewers that the food here is amazing! Torta Rustica is fantastic and the coffee cake!! But I agree with several other reviewers that this place would be an easy five stars if it weren't for that one employee. I didn't get his name, but he's a red-head and he has no business working in a position where he has any chance to speak to customers. After waiting 45 minutes for our food, I went to check to see if they had misplaced our order. I was told that "if you don't want to wait, you should go somewhere else." Wow. Tweets needs to figure out how professionals deal with customer concerns. It would have been easy enough to explain the delay and apologize -- and have happy customers instead of people who are scared to go back. Edison is too far a drive and the setting is too pretty to have to put up with a scolding from an inexperienced boor. read more

The rude, snobby service behind the counter left us feeling abused. In fact, we couldn't get out of town fast enough...so Tweet's, the way you talk to your customers also effects the other businesses in town...you ruined our morning and cut off any interest in going into any of the other businesses. Do not reward these people...go eat elsewhere! read more

A couple of things to know before you come - bring cash or a check, no plastic here. Also, every dish is made to order, and it is always packed, so be prepared to wait a bit. The wait is well worth it, as the food is fabulous! Every one of us raved about the flavors. We will return! read more

Holy shit, this place is fantastic. So good that it has reduced me to joyfully amazed profanity. I walked in past a counter of freshly made goodness and wanted one of everything I saw. I "settled" on a blackberry pastry. On its own, it would have been delicious - with the thoughtfully added scoop of perfectly sweetened fresh whipped cream, it was heavenly. My boyfriend got the same pastry and a piece of fresh-out-of-the oven chile relleno casserole. Eggs, cheese, chiles, potatoes - by itself, it was amazing. But on the side and stacked on top of it was this slaw, this slaw that was unlike anything I've ever eaten. It was crispy and spicy and sour and a little sweet and there was (cotija?) cheese sprinkled on it. That's right - cheese in the slaw. BRILLIANT. I put a bite of slaw and cheese and chile relleno in my mouth and I never wanted to eat anything again so that I could have that flavor for the rest of my life. But of course I got a sugar cookie to go. Also excellent. But my god - that effin' slaw. Should also mention that the plates are beautiful and overflowing with fresh, gorgeous produce. I would give this place ten stars if I coud!. The food is amazingly fresh and lovingly made. Not only is it really tasty fare, but each plate is artfully put together. Today I had the tostada with chorizo. They have their own farm and use eggs, meat and produce from the farm. The flavors were amazing, everything on the plate from the chorizo tot the cream fraiche was home made. Prices are awesome and the espresso drinks are great. read more

Very cute spot. Looked good. I got there a little early to meet my family for lunch. Since they were busy I knew I could not just take a seat. Myself and one other person went to order lattes and a $6 cookie. We were asked if we were getting more food and we said not yet. She explained priority seating goes to people ordering full meals. We chose not to stay at all or get anything to go. When I say they are busy it is full but not a single person was waiting for a seat as we walked out the door. Very disappointing. I've never been made to feel that approx 15 $ of food isn't enough for a couple seats for a short while. read more

There were three of us and our coffees and lunches were amazing - the chicken was fantastic, my frittata was so delicious and the other dish was delightful. I've never been to Washington State in my life but two of my friends who live nearby raved about this place at my recent visit and how they couldn't wait to take us there for Sunday breakfast and coffee. Well....WOW! From the gorgeous gigantic sunflowers out front, to the fresh vegetables laying out in baskets, to the shabby, homey, cozy, most amazing laid back, welcoming indoor eating area where just the smells of the food and watching the kitchen cookin up a storm will draw you in alone, this place is TOP NOTCH! Artisan, rustic, organic...........fresh, home grown food.........enough to make a grown up drool! I can't even say enough about how delicious everything was!
