With a ton of free…read moreresources on how to decode the GMAT & work through the various problems, I was able to elevate my score. I was especially proud of the 88/90 (99th Percentile) I got in Verbal, a significant increase from what I was scoring previously. After such a positive experience, I wanted to see if their application consultants would also be able to help me. I can honestly say this was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Working with James, I was able to get highly personalized, honest feedback that really made me rethink how I was structuring my applications & essays. As someone doing the MBA to double pivot (industry & function), it was very important for me to make sure I was able to convey that my career path til date made sense connecting to what I wanted to do in the future & that I could provide a unique value proposition to an incoming class. James and I invested the proper amount of time brainstorming what the best way to tell that story. I would send him a draft in the evening/night, I would do my day job and when I got back from work, I would have an updated reply with constructive personalized feedback that I would take into consideration before working on my next draft. Once I finally nailed the story, the rest was history. In the end, I was able to get admission at every M7 & T15 that I applied to, as well as collected over $120K in scholarship money. I do not think either of those would have been possible without working with James, Charles & the rest of the GMAT Ninja team. I am truly grateful the experience I had working with these folks & my only regret is that I didn't work with them sooner.

These videos were crucial in me getting a 695 on my GMAT FE exam from a prior score of 645. I knew that I needed professional help on my applications, so I worked with both James and Charles. They really took the time to get to know my entire story, leave no stone unturned, and provide detailed feedback for each part of my application. I really appreciate their honesty when evaluating my application and portraying the entire MBA application process. I'm glad to say I have now been accepted to HBS thanks to their enormous help.

The experience truly begins with the reservation, where you are asked a series of questions from your familiarity with sushi, fish preference, appetite level, and so on. This truly is an in-depth questionnaire so that the chef Yasu could source fish from Nagahama fish market for your meal. It's an incredibly personal, curated meal. On the date of, you are led to a private room in the back, Denchu Den, which is a simple, private sushi bar for up to 4 guests. Then, Chef Yasu comes out for a truly intimate experience, one that is extremely rare to come by, even in Japan. It is truly just your party and the chef as he prepares some truly epic bite. And the menu is not set, it really depends on your personal taste, and the food continues basically until you tap out. As such, there is no set price, though typically we run up about $150-200 a person. It's a 2 hour experience during which you get to experience that Japanese hospitality with chef Yasu. We talked with him about his home, learned about his experience in Denver, and he provided some fun facts about sushi and Japanese in culture in general. I cannot praise this truly unique experience enough, and, in fact, we have been back here every single year. The cherry on top is that as you return, Chef Yasu starts to remember your preference and even past conversation. And it does not end there. Based on our conversation where I discussed my next Japan trip, Chef Yasu even took time to send us an email with his recommendations. The Chef Table at Sushi Den is truly a one of a kind experience here in Denver.

What we ordered: Wagyu kushiyaki - flavor and char was great, but had to chew a good amount more than you would want with wagyu. The little side of truffle mashed potatoes is amazing. Toro nigiri - on the "fresh from Japan" menu. Kinda fell flat - not bad, but didn't have much of that melt your mouth, buttery flavor. Mikan himachi nigiri - on the "fresh from Japan" menu. This was the nigiri that was fishier than expected. Deluxe sushi platter - great option to get more food for your buck. 4 nigiri, 6 sashimi, 2 hand rolls, and 1 california roll. Salad + miso soup.

This place is absolutely phenomenal!…read more We stopped by for a quick lunch and enjoyed the lobster shooter, tuna crudo and karahi samosas. All three were packed with flavor and everything complimented each other perfectly. For entrees we had the quesadillas and the enchiladas. All of the flavors were on point. On the other hand: a meal that should have taken about 1.5hrs (2 tops) took about 3. We were never offered additional beverages other than water. And the cadence of the meal hit a wall when it came to the main courses. We went during restaurant week. Our table of 4 all opted to partake. Initial apps were delicious! A lovely sampler of their offerings. The second course was listed out as though they were plates, however they all came out as tacos. They were very good, just... unexpected. The byrini main courses were huge! And very tasty (even reheated the next day). But they took about 45min to come out, despite having ordered them at the beginning of our meal (restaurant week offering = placing full meal order right off) and there wasn't much interaction with the staff, aside from water service. The drinks we did get were delightful! We all opted for the old fashioned that came with a masala profile and they easily could have made some additional $ off all of us! Finally, dessert. My hubby and I opted for the ice cream sandwich. It was very good, though difficult to eat with a spoon due to the thickness of the outer cookie. Excellent flavor though. All in all, I'm sure we'll return at some point. We'll just be sure to expect to spend a good deal of time.

The manager gave me a…read moregenerous "Hello-how-are-you?," probably sensing my stress as a family physician--had my badge on, and I was, in fact, very stressed. That Arby 1/2 pound and 2 milks pulled me out of a funk in a hurry, and my afternoon went so much better from that small kindness. Imagine my dismay when 2 days later, with my Friday evening slot set for 2 hours of much needed libation, celebration and food with family and friends, we came to a place without even a welcome. When one drops $1000 for an anticipated culinary experience, mind you, I'm not pretentious--having been Ed Your Waiter back in the day at Pizza Hut--I did in my naïvete expect a cursory or even curt greeting from the manager. We didn't get that. We were 4 hungry yet happy souls expecting basic restaurant decorum, and didn't even get that. We did get a non-smiling curmudgeonesque man in a bolo tie who seemed angry with us for God knows what reason. I know this because he reconned our table twice and angrily bussed a few dishes off our table. Sidenote--I do as a necessity get my steak rare, every single time. While not germaine to your knowledge of me personally, our server, when I declared this, countered, " OK--OUR steaks come out rare as a baseline, so YOURS will be rare-rare, we good?." Fair enough. After a reasonable seafood tower that languished on our table for well over half hour after we'd finished, I was then served a medium-rare steak. My brussel spouts attacked the palate with manically pickled onions that were perhaps drizzled accidentally with horsey-sauce ( from Arbys?). This meal was an utter disappointment, and dampened the celebration of our son's acceptance into medical school. We're headed to Oahu where we anticipate a better experience at Black Angus. We hadn't been to 801 Cherry Creek in 7 years. The bathroom was clean, so there is that. We won 't be back.

Unfortunately, the meal made my stomach hurt afterwards severely (nothing that an antire packet of tums couldn't remedy though).
