The path towards completing the GMAT is indeed well trodden and well documented these days. Whether you are just starting this journey, or find yourself at an impasse like I did, I hope my example can offer you some guidance and encouragement. My journey was long and at times a struggle. When I decided to take the GMAT, I knew that it was going to be tough, but I never anticipated how tough. The last time I had grappled with maths was at the age of 15 when I finished my GCSE's. Some 12 years later, with a language degree and brand consultancy career behind me, I set about learning Maths again from scratch. After 2 months I had studied the Manhattan Foundations Quant book from cover to cover and buoyed with confidence, sat my first mock....which was a disaster. 350. At this point I realised that if the GMAT was my Everest, I had yet to arrive even at basecamp. Undeterred, I set about another month's study, concentrating my energies on the higher-level Quant questions, however further mocks showed only modest improvements. By this stage, deadlines for business schools were fast approaching and I realised I needed to reach out for help. It was about early December 2016 that I was introduced to Michael Maietta, (@GMATNinjaTwo) (msmaietta@gmail.com) via Charles Biblios, aka GMAT Ninja. Mike came highly recommended by Charles. One final credit I would like to bestow upon Mike was his insight into the tactics of taking the test. Mike helped work towards my deadlines and had a solid strategy for using the precious Mock tests/ practice material. As the test date neared, he adjusted the intensity to ensure I was exam fit and was always conscientious of the external factors that would also play an important role in optimising my test day performance, such as sleep, exercise and diet. I trusted in his guidance and when the big day came, I felt as ready as I ever could be. When I left the exam centre, I not only had a 280 point improvement over my previous scores (I'll let you be the judge of the scale of this improvement), but also a score that got me into IESE Business School, one of the top 3 business schools outside of the USA. **VERY late with my review but I didn't want to forget this before I graduate from my program in May 2025!** GMAT Ninja has been my lifeline while I was preparing my MBA admissions for fall 2023. I started preparing GMAT by myself in Q122', and had some help from other tutors in Q222, but my GMAT scores just weren't able to break the averages T15 and M7 schools were reporting. I had the rest of my application components finalized for Round 1 submission, but by mid-August, I knew Round 1 was bust because I just didn't have the scores I needed. I reached out to GMAT Ninja team's website intake form in desperation: throughout my studies in H122', I saw number of their videos on Youtube, and some of their tips/guidelines were easier to follow and understand than the resources I have been using, so I figured I reached out for some wisdom. Within an hour, Charles got back to me, analyzing my situation with pinpoint accuracy and following up with some next steps. Within a week, I was paired with Alex Cotton, V51 veteran/780 scorer (my weakness was with verbal at the time) to iron out all the skills I needed for GMAT. Despite the time and effort Alex and I put in together from September to November, my GMAT scores were still not within T15 and M7 school range: turned out, I had severe test anxieties that weren't allowing my practiced skills to come through during the actual tests - the adaptive nature of GMAT was getting in my head. It almost felt like the test was constantly judging me one problem after another, and I just couldn't get over that hurdle to save me. Fortunately, Charles and I reconnected during this time, and he introduced me to Erika Osherow, GMAT Nina's mental performance coach, to help me identify and address my anxieties so I could still perform. Simultaneously, Alex and Charles also recommended that I also give GRE a shot - their assessment said I had my skills for GMAT, so let's remove the constant adaptive question by question "judging" nature of GMAT, and try the section adaptive GRE, where I would have the freedom to skip around and come back to question. Besides, GMAT skill load is somewhat higher than GRE especially in critical reasoning/reading comprehension/quantitative sections, so many of the fundamental work I have been doing would carry over - only area I spent some time preparing with Alex was the vocabulary part of GRE. And that did the trick: I scored 160Q and 160V on my first GRE test after few weeks of prep! The combination of Erika's guidance in helping me address my anxiety and Charles + Alex's strategic call in pivoting me to GRE was exactly what I needed. I got rest of my application in order, and submitted them all for R2. I have been accepted to T15s and one M7 schools of my choice - I have no doubt that my GRE score contributed to getting green lights for acceptance and interviews from those schools. Much better than the sub 600s I was getting with GMAT scores. Bottom line: if you are struggling to find a footing for GMAT, I highly recommend working with GMAT Ninja team. If you are in a similar situation like me, where you have the GMAT skills but the test anxiety is eating your scores, definitely work with Erika, and GMAT Ninja team will be able to assess whether GRE might be the move for you as well. Charles is the most sincere and coolest guy out there! And for his service, simply unbeatable. I was paired with Harry and what can I say, he is a GMAT wizard :). I initially went with other gmat services like Veritas, E-gmat, Target Test Prep, and Manhattan. Perhaps, they didn't work for me and I ended up butchering the gmat. I realized that I needed something more structured and tailored to my needs. Harry really helped with that. The process and approach is the best out there. Harry was always with me and digging into my brain in order to make sure I was following the correct approach to each question and type of question. He would also remind me of my bad habits and how to conquer them during my study/practice sessions. A typical week would be Harry assigning me homework based on my progress and have me track my results on an excel spreadsheets (everything is setup so I just had to fill in the blanks) After completing the homework, during the tutoring session, Harry would gauge my level of understanding and skill on the each section (Quant, RC, CR, and SC). He gave me tips and really dove deep into what was hindering me from reaching my full potential on EACH section. He would also be realistic with me in terms of what to expect based on my level of knowledge and ceiling of improvement. Then, we would go over specific questions that I got destroyed on and walk me through the whole process on what to look for in question stems, context, and how to approach choosing answer choices. I went from initially getting 50% wrong in CR and RC to getting around 20% wrong in a span of 2 months (something I thought was impossible at the beginning of my gmat journey). My confidence grew, and that's all thanks to signing up with Charles and following Harry's guide. The sessions are not mundane and are all very proactive and enjoyable. I really learned to enjoy loving the process even though it was indeed a lot of work, but anything worth getting always requires work anyways! It is quite difficult for me to write about GMAT Ninja, but more in general GMAT, without being emotional. Probably it is because the application process took me so long. I am Italian and I hadn't any clue of what English was until I finished my bachelor's. It took me almost a year and a half to go through the whole process: learning a new language, how to write a personal statement and, of course, the GMAT. And it has been a really important part of my development as a person. In Italian "Terrific" is considered to be a false friend. "Terrificante" means terrifying, and I think these two words are perfect for describing the G-MAT. It could be ridiculous how this test digs inside you. It doesn't matter how a good student you are (Concepts are important but pretty easy). To achieve a good result, you have to understand yourself, not concepts. It is both terrifying and terrific what you can discover by facing this test. I would definitely say that I feel like a new person after the G-MAT experience, and G-MAT ninja was the engine that let me do this. So why are they the best - I would say the unique - prep test company out there? Probably a review would not be enough to speak about all the details. The approach that Charles has is something crazy. There is a lot of research on the way he (and of course the other tutors) teaches. Every part inside and outside the lesson(s) has its reason and more important is unique for every person. It was incredible that Bransen, who has followed me for "only" 6 lessons, seems to know me for ages after a couple of weeks. Sometimes he spoke some sentences that made me speechless. The way he knows my mental paths, my processes. The way he understood my fragilities and my weaknesses. But most importantly how he made me understand what to do to change my bad habits. I think it would not be possible without being obsessed with quality. Every step is thought to have the best response regardless of who the student is. Maybe I am going too far, but I would say that even the cost of the lesson is part of the lesson itself. I have not tried the Test Anxiety Program but from what I have read it seems to be the perfect child of this reality. I cannot even imagine how they work to build such a program. Apart from these technicalities, if you decide to hire them, you will hire people who are not just smart, but who know the value of communication and active listening. It is clear that the first quality to be a G MAT ninja tutor is to be a good person. If you want to maximize your score and discover something new about yourself there is no other choice apart from GMAT ninja. Also, they have great taste in terms of food. Mike Maietta is one of the best teachers I have ever had. To anyone reading this that feels like they are underperforming what they are capable of scoring on the GMAT, I highly recommend getting in touch with Mike. He singlehandedly revamped my entire approach to studying, and I am incredibly grateful for his help. I improved my GMAT score from 630 (after several months of studying) to 710. Before reading more, it is important for me to provide some background about me: I am a white male, and my first language is English. I came across GMAT Ninja having worked with 2 other tutoring services. I consistently plateaued in the mid-600s despite scoring 700+ on practice exams and decided to check out one more service before I quit. I was so impressed with Charles' email correspondence as he took the time to go through my ESRs and Practice Exams and provided me detailed level explanations related to my weaknesses and test anxiety (keep in mind this was even before I hired them). I contacted Charles around July 2021 after struggling to break a 700 in my practice exams. I had a strong quant background but my verbal lacked tremendously. After a long discussion with Charles, I immediately started to work with Alex. Alex was very easy to work with and had a strong performance on the GMAT recently. For two months, we focused primarily on the GMAT, yet I was still unable to consistently perform well on LSATs CR and RC. After another discussion with Charles and Alex, we decided to pivot to the GRE. After trying to prepare for the GMAT on my own, I decided to work with a tutor. I have ADHD, so a structured approach from someone who'd keep me accountable was needed for me to have a successful test experience.
