My daughter has been attending Patience Montessori for over a year and a half now…read more My wife and I looked at a variety of local schools and chose Patience because we loved the diversity among teachers and the convenient logistics. Colorado isn't a particularly diverse state so having several ethnicities and cultures represented at school is important to us. Our daughter has been taught to love learning and be independent there. She's been shown a tremendous amount of love and has grown out of her shy, quiet demeanor into a social, confident personality. The fact that Patience is open from 7:30am to 5:45pm has been an unexpectedly important part of our happiness with the school. As a two income family having the flexibility to drop off early and pick up without having to leave the office in the middle of the afternoon has taken a lot of stress out of our lives. I highly recommend that you look at Patience - we have been incredibly happy with the education, care, and love for our daughter.

Our Experience at Patience Montessori: A Cautionary Account…read more Our time at Patience Montessori was unfortunately marked by significant concerns regarding the care of our child and the overall environment of the daycare. What should have been a nurturing, supportive partnership turned into a stressful and unhealthy experience for our entire family. Mismanagement and Poor Communication From the beginning, I had concerns about the center's management. When I approached the director to discuss issues such as classroom transitions, choking hazards, teacher turnover, and the handling of pumped breast milk, I was met with a dismissive and defensive attitude. Instead of engaging in a constructive dialogue, the director consistently deflected responsibility and placed blame on parents or staff. Communication at this daycare was a recurring problem. Any concerns raised were typically ignored or met with hostility. Over time, it became clear that the director only engaged with me to point out what she believed I was doing wrong as a parent--including breastfeeding choices, carrying my child, or even my child removing her shoes at school. This level of intrusion into parenting decisions felt entirely inappropriate and overreaching. High Staff Turnover and Questionable Hiring In just six months, my child had six different teachers in the toddler room. This high turnover created instability and was never proactively communicated to parents. After the sixth teacher, my child--previously happy to attend--began crying at drop-off and describing the new teacher as "mean" and "scary." I later learned that this teacher refused to offer milk based on a personal belief that another child might mistakenly drink it. Shockingly, she had cycled through twelve different daycare centers before arriving at this one. Concerning Treatment of Children and Staff More alarming were the reports I heard directly from staff members, who confided in me about the director's behavior. They expressed discomfort with being sworn at in front of children, being pressured to operate over legal child-to-adult ratios, and being given questionable directions, including how to minimize parent-teacher interactions during drop-off. On multiple occasions, the director interrupted private conversations I was having with my child's teachers under the pretense of needing to "talk privately" with them. This left me feeling that transparency with parents was being intentionally avoided. Emotional Wellbeing and Child Development One of my deepest concerns was the director's approach to emotional development. Patience's philosophy, as described to me, discouraged staff from comforting children in distress. Staff were reportedly told not to hold, soothe, or validate a crying child's emotions. "She needs to be on her own," they were instructed. This rigid interpretation of the Montessori philosophy felt, to me, like emotional neglect rather than encouragement of independence. Montessori education values independence, yes--but not at the cost of compassion and emotional support. Children deserve comfort and guidance as they learn to regulate their feelings. What I witnessed and heard about at Patience Montessori deeply contradicted those values. Final Thoughts What I hoped for was a nurturing and professional childcare environment--one that would support my child and work with me as a parent. Instead, I encountered a toxic culture, a lack of professionalism, and a director who was more interested in control than care. Ultimately, we had to find a new daycare where our child could feel safe, supported, and understood. I share our experience to help other families make informed decisions and to advocate for higher standards in early childhood care.

She has…read morebeen attending the Boulder location for over three years, and before we moved here, we were part of the Longmont location -- both locations have been fantastic. The staff at Boulder do an excellent job ensuring everyone is knowledgeable in all areas of math and are attentive to different learning styles. Alan and Margaux, in particular, are extremely supportive. My daughter frequently talks about how helpful they are and always leaves with a solid understanding of the current subject matter. What sets Mathnasium apart is that their support goes beyond the sessions. They help with her homework, making sure she fully understands the concepts and leaves confident enough to excel in school. Whenever I notice she might need a little extra help, I reach out, and they proactively check in with her. Mathnasium truly feels like an extension of my daughter's education, enrichment, and learning. I can't recommend them highly enough!

I was a complete novice starting Spanish class, and in 7 weeks I can comprehend at a basic level,…read moream learning sentence structure, and am able to have simple conversations. I certainly didn't expect to learn as quickly as I am, and have fun at the same time! My main instructor, Varon, is patient, funny, energetic, creative, and helpful. He works hard to go out of his way to help you succeed. He met with me one-on-one (twice) to ensure I was getting the attention I needed and to ensure I was able to keep up with my classmate. The class sizes are small, 3 to 5 students on average, which I really appreciate not just for learning, but also, for the social interaction. Varon plans and schedules learning activities outside of class to engage with other students, which is a real plus, again for the cultural and social aspect. I recommend Boulder Spanish for a blast of rapid learning, high energy, friendly instructors, a comfortable environment, and fun!

Varon and other teachers keep things fun and light, which I think is a great way to learn within small group formats. The additional outside the classroom social activities (i.e. hikes, trivia, dancing, cultural lessons, and drinks) that are included with your tuition are more great ways to meet others learning Spanish and are a perfect way to practice with those eager to do so. I plan to stick with Boulder Spanish for many more months, and encourage others to check them out!

The teachers all love and value each individual child. Their handling of conflicts is excellent and they are building lifelong interpersonal skills in our kids. The students are encouraged to check in with themselves and others in a way that teaches both compassion and self-care. Our kids have very different personalities and they are both getting just what they need at Snow Lion, whether it is creative art projects or active outdoor play. Their relationships with the other kids and with their teachers are very positive and caring. The community of parents is close knit and I have made several great friendships as well as having a fun group for playdates. While being a play-based school, there is simultaneously a lot of intention behind the activities, run by deeply experienced and wise teachers. Parent nights offer incredible food for thought as we all travel together along this amazing journey of raising happy, empowered and compassionate children.

This past March, I was waitlisted at my top choice, and the odds for getting off were not great…read morewith a measly 1.8% waitlist acceptance rate in the previous year. However, in just over a month of work with Jack, I was accepted in my school's first wave. Jack's waitlist program requires a lot of dedication and work from the student, but Jack will match you in enthusiasm. Jack's passion and knowledge of the waitlist area is grounded in his own experience-- he bases the whole program on what worked for him when he was a high school senior-- and the experience of dozens of students he has helped before. If you're a statistics person, like me, his website outlines how waitlisted students continually beat the odds with his help. Jack helps students stand out beyond the standard letter of continued interest, and by the end of Jack's program, my admissions officer knew who I was out of hundreds of applicants. Jack's advice was invaluable, and I can't recommend him enough to any senior or junior looking for college counseling or waitlist help. I want to briefly add that aside from his fantastic advice, Jack is also a pleasure to work with. He is enthusiastic, passionate, and fun to talk to, which is a startling contrast to some of the other college counselors I've spoken with, who ranged from disconnected to downright unpleasant. If you need help with college or your career, Jack is the way to go.

My son began the program in the fall of his sophomore year of high school. Starting this early has…read moreallowed him to be very prepared for the fall of his senior year of high school. It also enabled him to set up a high school game plan on the jobs he took in high school, along with classes and other activities. The summer between junior and senior year, he worked on his personal statement essay along with the individual essays for the colleges in which he will apply. He had a great head start on these before his senior year classes began. What I love about having Piotr, Jack and the team at Delehey College Consulting behind us, is that they helped preserve the relationship we have with our son. They were there to ask questions and bounce ideas off of. They gave him great feedback on the essays he wrote and even though our son gave them to us to read, the feedback that Piotr provided even though it was similar to our feedback and thoughts, carried more weight as he was the expert in my son's eyes. I don't yet know the outcome of my son's college applications, but I do know that without Delehey College Consulting and Piotr's advice and guidance my son's application would not be as strong as it is and he wouldn't be as prepared as he was at the start of his school year which alleviated a great deal of stress and even got us a thank you for the push to get the essays mostly completed before the school year began. We interviewed several College Consultants and went with the consultant that my son felt most comfortable with and that he could work with the best. Delehey College Consulting wasn't the cheapest option, but in our eyes it was the best option and provided us the best bang for the buck. My son and I have known that we could ask any question and it would be answered in a short amount of time. We know that they will be there for us until my son determines which school he will attend next school year. I honestly can't say I've been disappointed even slightly throughout the contact we've had over the last 2 years and into this school year. If I had another child, we would use Delehey College Consulting for him/her as well. We believe that much in the service and guidance we have received.
