I was extremely grateful because this would have stopped me from proceeding with my mechanical engineering degree. One thing to consider when coming here is that you need to come prepared to learn. Some tutors get paid to help you do you homework and some actually fill in the blanks from what goes over your head in class, which is infinitely more valuable. If you want someone to do your homework for you than this might not be the place for you. Buffalo Academy has lecture notes for most of the common courses so you can be sure that they know exactly what your professors are lecturing almost down to the day. One thing that Buffalo Academy offers is higher priced options for guarenteed grades in a class. At first I wasn't so sure about this but they have years of statistics to prove they are worth their word. On top of this, the academy offers invaluable career development programs for business students that you absolutely will not get on campus...period. Although it has a high sticker price, they have a plethora of proven success stories and many of their past students are available for you to reach out and hear about their experience for themselves. Overall you can't go wrong with Buffalo Academy as long as you take it seriously and put in required effort. Hold yourself accountable for your own education and success!!

My oldest, who is now going into 1st grade, was in need of a lot of stimulation outside of the home when he was little. He was one of those very active, curious kids always seeking out new adventures and interests. The education staff took great care in feeding that curiosity from the first day. Their story book journey curriculum is a tested and proven method (see Ashley Merriman's and Po Bronson's, Nurture Shock) for early childhood education success across all areas of learning, whether it be speech, pre literacy, social awareness, personal development, gross/fine motor etc. My husband and I beamed when our 3 year old son came home with books on sharks for us to read to him from the school and started memorizing facts and reciting them to friends and relatives. It seemed he had met his match. As an elementary age kiddo he has flourished into a very kind, loving, enthusiastic and confident student. I give a lot of credit for that to Elaine, the director at Children's House. Our youngest son will be starting his final year at CHP in the fall. He has developed so much from their care by learning self confidence, self reliance and finding his own voice. He is now looking forward to being a leader for next years students and I know he will continue to thrive in this loving, nurturing environment. A point worth making is that it is a one room school house meaning the children are of mixed ages together throughout their day. I can only speak from my family's experience but it has been wonderful to watch our children flourish as they get older, growing first from silent observer, to active participant and lastly to confident leader. The one room serves as a wonderfully safe and creative environment to explore through play, art, music, and pre literacy story telling. While it is a very active and diverse classroom, each child really does find their own sense of peace and space to grow within it. Children's House Preschool has been a very, very positive experience for my family.

A teacher, who, though pleasant, has no ability to teach. I took a beginner's class. (Though except for myself, there were no other beginners in the class. They clearly all had some level of experience.) The teacher would do a twenty-second demonstration (no exaggeration) of something, then expect everyone to immediately know how to do that thing perfectly. It was beyond frustrating. First class, I could tell that I wasn't executing the skill correctly. It was exceedingly obvious that my canvas looked nothing like the other, experienced students' canvases. But though the instructor walked around the table looking at the canvases, for multiple hours, he never said a word about mine. Never proactively provided any constructive criticism. He just let me flounder around for hours without any guidance. (He did interact more with the students who were doing better. There were about eight of us total.) Next class, I decided to make him provide some feedback. (Unsuccessfully, as it turned out.) I would stop him as he walked by, ask him to look at my canvas, and ask for feedback. He was non-committal. (Pleasant, but not helpful.) I would then point out something on the canvas, and say, this isn't right, is it? And he would sort of agree. But he never offered to show me how to do the skill correctly, or provide anything but a vague comment. During that class, I must have stopped him a half-dozen times, if not more, to ask for feedback, but received essentially none. By the third class, I had mostly given up. I listened, trying to glean as much as possible from the twenty-second demonstrations, but unfortunately accepted the reality that the teacher had no ability to actually teach. Again, the teacher was pleasant. But he was also a passive, low-energy person who clearly had zero ability to teach a skill to students. And, oddly, the less experienced the student, the more uncomfortable and non-interactive he became. In a beginner's class. BSOFA makes no sense. Do they not understand? People take classes because they want to learn. They pay good money to attend classes because they want to learn. Allowing a beginner to flounder, with minimal guidance, in a beginner's class is not only unacceptable, but actually a little cruel. BSOFA takes a positive, eager, happy-to-be-there student, and turns her into someone who never wants to experience any of it ever again.

We initially used their free area for ABC's and basic reading. She liked it so much that we became members. It is a great supplement to education and for home practice. It also includes math, maps, calendars, and more. For $35 a year this website has a great multitude of supplemental services for your child. It also is printer friendly. I can tell you first hand I was spending over $35 a month for workbooks and reading tools. While this site does familiarize your child with using a computer, I also print items for handwriting experience. The best part of the website is that you can try it first. While I am a fan, I only wish they had more reading practice, such as games, for high frequency words. Overall, this is one of the best supplemental services I have come across.
