I found out about John on a flyer in a coffee shop shortly after I was told that "people who think they can't sing have likely been told that by someone" and that it isn't true. After hearing this, I decided it was time to let 20+ years of someone else's poor judgment of me be buried right alongside him. I sought out Make Great Music to see if I could be helped out. The first day I met John I sat across from him and cried because I was scared sh**less. He was super chill about the whole thing, and even had a box of kleenex at the ready. (maybe crying is common in vocal/music lessons?) I explained to him what had happened and that I was determined not to let that ghost run my life any longer. We went through our first lesson (which I suspect I can't recall due to my nerves) and I decided to sign up for weekly lessons and plow through this fear until I could get on stage and sing without shame. John has been awesome! He's very patient, very encouraging, and has given me so much confidence. He has helped me discover and believe that I can actually sing! And not just sing, but sing WELL.
