I was told going in that it would be like drinking from a…read morefirehose--that the goal was to learn enough to pass the exam, not necessarily to become a project manager. While it was definitely an intensive course, I came away feeling like I learned far more than just exam material. Sean Coyle was an engaging instructor whose enthusiasm kept me interested throughout the four days. He used relevant, real-world examples that made the concepts easier to understand, scheduled regular breaks that helped everyone stay focused, and created an environment where I never felt uncomfortable asking questions. Rather than simply giving answers, he encouraged us to think through the problems, making the course interactive instead of just a one-way lecture. Overall, I found the course informative, engaging, and much more valuable than I expected.

It was a comfortable place to learn. Our instructor, Dave Heath, is outstanding in his knowledge and ability to instruct on the laws and gun safety. Furthermore, his instruction at the gun range was terrific and helped me, a first time shooter, gain confidence and basic skill. My husband had been a marksmen in the service decades ago, and he explains that Dave was great at helping my husband remember his long-forgotten skills. This was a hybrid class that the State of Colorado now allows in the midst of the Covid pandemic so we took part of the course in person and part online in a Zoom class which worked beautifully. We highly recommend the Colorado Gun Class Safety and Carry Conceal course and commend Dave Heath as very very good at what he does!

I loved talking with Nancy so much that my interview ended up being an hour and a half, and in that time I got a lot of insight as to what I could expect from the next ten weeks and beyond. I received tips to help me stand out when it came to applying for the job and realistic timelines as to when I could expect to get hired, as well as specific companies that are willing to hire right out of the gate. The class itself was not too time consuming or overly difficult. I managed to find the time every week for homework even with working a part time job and going to school full time. It was really just a matter of making it a priority. The class size was small so we all got the individual help we needed. My instructor Joel was fantastic! He taught to the test, as that had the most value in the outside world as well as in the classroom. He had lots of tips, tricks and helpful advise for everybody when it came to the practical side of phlebotomy too, and was readily available to answer any questions we had. My externship with Quest Diagnostics was great. I had zero logistical questions going into it as PLC and Joel did a great job of preparing us for that. I learned so much from the ladies there and felt truly welcomed by them. They didn't treat me like an incompetent student, they treated me like a colleague. After my externship I was a few sticks shy of what I needed to complete the course, but PLC was more than willing to have me back twice to finish them up with another segment. Truly a great stepping stone for my and my career.

I would definitely recommend PLC if you are interested in becoming a phlebotomist.
