I have been shopping at Mike's for almost a decade now and would give the store 10 stars if I could. I work with Rob Schmid at the store and always feel like I'm getting helpful advice about my photography hobby rather than a sales pitch. Equally important, because Mike's "price matches" other stores throughout the country, you won't find camera gear cheaper anywhere else and you get the benefit great in-person customer service while supporting your local camera shop. read more

Jason was so knowledgable, kind, and helpful. I will only use this location of Mike's camera for all my business and personal photographic needs! I can't say enough of how helpful Jason was. read more

huge shout Alex and Jaden at the Colo Blvd location. Encouragement. Support. Guidance. Follow up phone calls. A custom framing project, including some very special wedding photos, and the experience has been outstanding every time. The staff is knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely helpful in choosing the right framing without ever making you feel rushed. The quality of the finished work is beautiful. Exceptional service and craftsmanship--I highly recommend them! Special shout out to Jaden, who took apart a frame and refrained it for me because I found a speck of dust. Six stars. read more

Amazing customer service. Had Christmas photos printed. Felt wonderful to talk to a happy employee while picking up my photos. Bought a frame to put the kids on the wall. They are getting so big. read more

My Wife and I went in to purchase a new camera . Kate was our sales person. She was very helpful. When Im spending $2500 I like to be educated with what I am buying and she answered all my question. She was also professional and very friendly. read more

Passport service was quick and painless. I had a 15 year old disposable camera that Mikes was able to develop for me. Two other passport places told me no that they no longer did development of disposable cameras. I ordered a mug with a photo on it and was completely guided through the whole system. I have to give high praise to Alyssa, she provided me an easy stream lined experience for the three different items I needed. She was easy going, informative and most importantly friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend coming here for all your photo needs. read more

First time shopping at this location and I had an outstanding experience and friendly conversation thanks to Rob. Rob clearly loves what he does and knows his gear, but more importantly, he knows how to treat customers. He made the whole experience smooth, friendly, and fun. It's rare to find someone in retail who genuinely cares about helping you get the right gear instead of just making a sale. read more

Great experience with the team at Mike's Camera. I got a picture printed for my son in law's office and the color is gorgeous. Very pleased with both the customer service, the framing, and the print. read more

I adore Mike's Camera! they get it done well and fast every time. today I had the pleasure of working with one of their staff members Alex B and oh my goodness, what a delightful individual! They have customer service skills that you really just can't teach Incredibly kind and gracious and sweet and ready to make everyone feel special and seen! Alex B., you are a light into the world and we do not deserve you... Mike's camera is extremely lucky to have you on their team! You never know what someone is going through and Alex B. will be sure to brighten their day no matter what... Thank you, Alex B. and thank you Mike's camera! read more

Pretty disappointed after today. A life long professional customer that will never return after trying to trade in some high end gear. The sales associate purposefully low balled me thinking I didn't know what I was talking about. After calling him out and showing him comps online he quickly backtracked claiming "he didn't know". Even apologizing for "trying to take advantage of me". I walked out. I've used mikes camera for over 20 years and $25,000 easily spent bc I liked the team and company. Used cars salesmen but for cameras. I will be shopping anywhere but here for now on. Losing a customer bc you tried taking advantage of them is wild. read more

This is the place to go to for passport photos! I was in and out in 20 minutes and there were three people in front of me. I did this same service at Walgreen's a year earlier but never got the application sent in so my photo expired. Passport photos have a shelf life of six months, who knew? So here we ago again! Two's a charm. Just take your seat on the stool for 20 seconds, primp, smile, no choppers, and say, "Wheels uppity!" Snap, and you're outie. Other perts-- Walgreens charged over $18 dollars and Mike's under $16! I also felt like Walgreens took a half hour since they had to edit the photo to government standards. Both provide a generic sleeve for your pics so no advantage there. read more

I called to inquire about a camera that I've been wanting and literally got it the next day! Shelly was so helpful and friendly during the whole process. I'd recommend calling to see if they have what you want in stock! Can't wait to use my new camera! read more

As a business owner, I am shocked by the lack of staffing at this location. The last three visits I have had include multiple 30 minute waits because there is only one person handling prints. The sales staff, which has three or four people at a time, feel too entitled to help the print side..: what's worse is that I feel the staff have an animosity towards their customers. It's almost as if they purposely run in the back when you wait in the line and not come back out hoping you leave and not give help. I have been a customer for ten years with so much spent, but now I will make sure I take it elsewhere. This is a shell of what it used to be. read more

Shelly is amazing. He answered all of my questions and got me exactly the gear I needed. My first experience was so great, that I went straight to him for my new mirrorless camera! I would also recommend going out of your way to go to this location - definitely the best in the metro area! read more

I came by the shop today and Rob gave me a free tutorial when I didn't even have a purchase in line but just needed a few pointers before going out to my shoot to use the notoriously difficult to balance DJI Ronin 4. I've been shopping here for years now and have rented from them as well. It's always a stellar experience all around from product to customer service. I couldn't reccomend Mike's Cameras enough vs the big box schmucks who don't care about you or know what you're talking about if you give them a call asking for setup assistance. If you want to support local with and receive a white glove setup/guided experience with more tricky hardware, you've found the place to go. read more

12 hours from home and 7 hours from destination and no space to take anymore vacay photos. VERY helpful employees. Steve Purdham tried for a long time to help me with a compact flash card, to no avail everything he tried wouldn't work. Ready to leave and Rob Schmid said let me look before you leave. AMAZING he found something!! Ready for more vacation photo memories!! Thanks Steve & Rob!!!! read more

Shelly was the most helpful and most knowledgeable expert and without question earned every bit of my business. Also to mention such a pleasant experience with his positive energy and story telling of his experiences in photography. I never get on yelp to give a review but felt compelled based off the experience and the joy I feel taking my equipment home today. I'll be back!! read more

I was in town working on a photo project for a client when I discovered that I had something stuck on my sensor. I went to this Mike's Camera location and was helped by Shelly. I can't say enough good things about the experience. I explained the situation and that I had never cleaned a sensor before and Shelly took the time to make sure I got the right product and even helped guide me through the process right in the store. Thanks so much, Shelly! You saved me a lot of editing work! read more

I have been a customer at Mike's Camera Boulder for 30 years. I have bought cameras and taken classes. In the last 6 months I have only had bad experiences with the camera sales staff. I wanted to learn about a Leica camera and the sales man was arrogant and not helpful. The second time I went in to look at a Leica camera, I had a different sales man and he showed me the camera. I asked a question about the functions and he said, "Leica is new to the store and I don't know much about them". He took the camera away from me as I was looking at it , put it back on the shelf and walked away. I will no longer shop at this store. read more

Walked in to purchase some cleaning supplies and a specific lens. I had the pleasure of working with Rob and he asked all the right questions and paired me with a lens that was more expensive. I received exceptional customer service from Rob Schmid who provided his expertise on the lens and flash I needed for a photo shoot. He took the time to connect the wireless flash and showed me how to set up the tripod with the umbrella, which was very helpful. I went in seeking help on a print for a memorial and the team there could not have been more helpful or professional. We were concerned about doing the 16 x 20 size that I wanted as it might appear to blurry with the photo that I had. They printed up 3 different sizes for me, just in case. The 16 x 20 will work fine, but they really went above and beyond as I needed this quickly. Thanks Mike's Camera!!! read more
