Colorado Blvd store. I had two 8x10 printed from 35mm negatives, and the printer did not dust off the negative before scanning. I was dissappointed by the lack of professionalism. Also, the girls behind the photo counter were too busy to wait on me at 5:40pm, when all I had was a pick up. I had more work for them, but was so let down by their professionalism, that I decided to go somewhere else. read more

I have family who live in Boulder. They told me Mike's Camera is a first class retailer which provides excellent customer service. I share this upfront because of my experience today. When I couldn't do business with them. My situation was unique. I live out of state and wanted to buy a camera that was only available at their Denver location. I needed the camera shipped overnight to my home. When I called Mike's headquarters in Boulder, they told me they would have to get the camera to Boulder and they would ship it. But the UPS overnight shipping charge is $180. Yes, $180. So I decided to call the Denver store to see if I could pay for it over the phone and then have someone drop it off at a FedEx Office location two blocks away. That's when I learned Mike's doesn't allow phone orders. Guess they've been burnt before by unscrupulous individuals. I asked if I could order and pay online and then get someone to pick up the camera. Nope. It has to be shipped out of Boulder. I really wanted this $290 Sony point-and-click camera for a special occasion I'm going to on Thursday. Unfortunately, I couldn't buy the camera I wanted from Mike's. read more

We spent the better part of an hour with Rob because we needed a better camera than a point and shoot or a phone. Both of my kids play sports and the professional pictures from cheer competitions are really expensive and you may not even get a shot of your kid. He was incredibly knowledgeable and patient with my stupid questions. Yes, he's a salesman but he's also a hobby photographer. We left feeling like we talked to someone who was intimately familiar with the cameras. Yes, we could have gotten it cheap elsewhere but because I wanted more than a point and shoot, I was willing to spend the extra money for experience. If we need anything else, I will happily return for that kind of service read more

The people are nice enough but wouldn't recommend to anyone who seriously shoots film. Their film scans came out genuinely awful. Pixelated and dusty is not the standard that should be set. And when I asked for a rescan, they refused and said they look fine. They also broke my film camera when I brought it by to get a different part of the camera checked out. They sent it out and told me they'd fix both issues for free since they broke it even more. They had my camera for two months and then sent it back to me basically saying "oh well, we didn't have the part so we can't fix it, best of luck". Better luck mailing your film into any other reputable shop. My recommendation for camera repair is Glazers read more

Robert was amazing over at mikes camera on Colorado Blvd. I told him my goals and he was able to set me up with a camera that fits my needs exactly. Plus I was able to save hundreds of dollars with his recommendation to buy a kit. I will definitely go to Robert with all of my camera needs. read more

I had a painful experience at this location of Mike's Camera today. I went in to pick up a photo enlargement. The clerk at the North counter was helping another customer. I waited patiently for a length of time. Although I was standing near the clerk and customer--the clerk never acknowledged my presence. Finally, I walked around the store and found another clerk to help me. We went to the North counter to retrieve my enlargement. At that time, a new customer entered the store and headed to the North counter. The clerk was still working with the same customer; however, she paused to verbally acknowledge the new customer and told her that she would help her shortly. I am an African American woman. I will say that when I left the store, I had the worst feeling of discrimination and disrespect. Emotionally, I tried to shake it off but the humiliation remained. This encounter was very hurtful and I would not wish it upon any other person. read more

Crazy day - I'm sure you've all been there. Realized around 530pm that I needed to pick up some things from Mike's Camera and couldn't do it earlier. Called into the store and spoke to Pearson who said they were there until 6pm and could wait a couple minutes to make sure I picked up my order. Pearson asked what I needed - when I walked in at 555pm, Jonathan had everything ready to check out. Honest, reliable, and always there when I need to ask questions or need options. Special thanks to Emily for encouraging me to come back when the store wasn't so busy! read more

I needed Canadian passport photos which have different size requirements than American passports. They got me in right away. Got my passport photos taken, and even knew the requirements for the information on the back of one of the photos. Excellent service and my new passport is on the way. read more

Charlene is so kind, thoughtful and helpful. Long story short... I had a big ask and even though she knew it would take her lots of time and might not be possible, Charlene tried diligently to accomplish it. Very much appreciated her combination of dedication and knowledge (and giving me a resource to follow-up with). She went above and beyond! Incredible customer service. read more

I needed a passport photos for a Canadian passport. Mike's was very efficient, with a very professional setup.

The staff is always so patient & helpful with my wacky film experiments! They very clearly take great care in printing photos with correct darkness and their color development has been incredibly fast. We stopped in with a broken vintage camera once & the gentlemen helped us research it and even shared some of their camera repair knowledge with us. 10/10 would not get my film developed or printed anywhere else! read more

I was so glad to find a camera shop in Denver that was open on Sundays, having left mine in Ohio before my Great Plains/Rockies trip. It was busy so there was a bit of a wait, but Rob was quite helpful in finding me the right point-and-shoot and accessories, including explaining the tradeoffs versus the other point-and-shoots on offer. There aren't as many choices as there might have been 10 years ago, but if you're like me and want a better camera than your cell phone's, but don't want the heft of a DSLR on your outdoor adventure, Mike's still has several choices, including an extra-rugged Olympus; I went with one of the less-rugged-but-much-more-zoom Panasonics. Also notable is that Rob didn't try to upsell me to the higher-end Panasonic with features that I wouldn't benefit from, or to the more expensive Sonys that would be better in low-light situations but not make a difference for my outdoors use case. Too many salespeople push more expensive options just because it means more revenue, so I appreciate when that isn't the case. read more

Run, don't walk. This place is awful! I sent photos via email. The photos I sent them were cropped to perfection. They cut the top of the head off of the person in the photo when they printed the photos.. I asked if they would make a correct one. I was immediate advise that they would have to charge me another $8.00 to redo It. It wouldn't cost them a mere pittance to have provided me with another N\C. If it wasn't for bad customer service, they wouldn't have any! read more

Update: Edit: I just picked up my camera. Brought my own lens and memory card to make sure Mike's Camera wasn't going to mess with me again. Immediately, after opening it inside the store, I see a hair on the sensor. I address this and some old man takes a handkerchief (don't know where it's been but it's dusty) and rubs all inside my camera on the mirror and sensor. Suddenly, a blue spot appears in the viewfinder and the hair is still there, in addition to millions of dust specks he just spread. I ask for a can of compressed air - they don't have any. Please avoid this place if this is your livelihood. Photo shows blue mystery spot and squiggly hair. read more

I've been going to Mike's for years now for film developing and scans. It's by far the best quality, quickest, and most friendly place I've experienced. But aside from film development, I recently brought in a very old and rare 35mm camera that seemed like something was wrong with it and needed some advice. And two very experienced employees helped show me the rundown of how the camera worked. And what may be the issue. They were very friendly and helpful in educating me. I really appreciate all the customer service ive recieved at Mike's. read more

So I went to the DJI store and was greeted with a nasty response in regards to price matching a camera. That being said, I contacted Mikes Camera. I mentioned seeing every major retailer having it well under what many had it priced at. Carl or Ryan (forgot the name) at the Wheatridge location price matched me, called me back and got me a camera held at this location. I came in and was greeted by a store clerk who went back and got the camera. The manager Jen who was polite came out and honored the price match and also got me setup with the correct memory card. Quick , easy and honest sales transaction. I will ensure I refer all I know for cameras here. They are worth the trip read more

I rarely rate stores. I wanted to give business to local camera shops so I bought Fuji xt5 there. Experience was fine. Took camera to Africa and was not impressed with resolution. Figured something was wrong with it . I brought it in today with some sample photography to show the clerk and he could care less. Kept making excuses and it was clear he had no desire to help. Back to online shops for cheaper for this kind of crappy service . Very disappointed read more

I've been hesitant to go to Mike's Camera over the years. I think mostly because I assumed that they were over priced or snobby. Guess you shouldn't make assumptions! I came in looking for a comparable camera to a Nikon S9500 (just an easy peasy point and shoot) camera of mine that had an unfortunate incident trail riding and now has so much dust in it that the lens jams. Ugh! While I have owned many Canon cameras in the past and have a Canon DSLR, I did plenty of research ahead of time and found that comparable Canon cameras didn't have some of the features I was looking for in replacing my Nikon. I had the pleasure of working with Terry during my visit who was most helpful and knowledgeable of the products and promotions they were running. I inquired about not only about wanting to purchase a replacement camera, but getting my current one fixed. He gave me some excellent advice for the repairs. With the purchase of the new camera he reviewed some differences between my current camera and the newer model. Terry even called another store to get a camera that was on a killer deal for me to check out! Wow! Terry also informed me about some classes that they offer, an equipment "warranty" type of plan, and the price match policy. So so helpful! However, I don't think their pricing isn't as competitive as it could be. Especially given the availability of their products through other online marketplaces. Though I guess that's where that price match policy comes into the picture! All in all, I feel terrible that I made such low assumptions about Mike's Camera. They def earned an A-Okay rating. **Pro Tip: I will always advise anyone going to a specialty shop to do a little research before they go in. It helps to have a basic understanding of the products that are on the market and also what features matter to you. It can be overwhelming to shop when there are sooo many choices and brands on the market. read more

Rob was great! We came in with a bunch of old analog cameras and he took the time to make sure they were functional, had new batteries, etc and even went through the photography basics with us. My brother and I are really looking forward to using these cameras again. Thank you, Rob! read more

I have been an amateur shooter since High School so I get the basics. I have an opportunity to get behind a BRAND NEW NIKON from Mike's Camera. I have so much to say about this experience. But first if you're looking for a Digital Camera or a Digital Video Camera there is only 1 place to go. Mike's Camera. They don't just sell you one, they make you an owner. With all the technology available the owners manual would take you a long time to read. But get ahold of Terry and he will teach you how to and serve up the information in a personal and professional manner that will enable you to digest and own in a very short period of time. Terry can tell if you are absorbing the info and if he has to repeat a particular point in a different manner he will and you'll truly enjoy the entire process. So if you are looking for anything in the way of capturing an image do yourself a favor and go see Terry at Mike's Camera. read more

Mani is outstanding!!! She was very helpful and fun. She walked me through the self service kiosk and assisted while I got my phone ready to print. She also showed me how to crop the photo. I'm pretty new to Denver so finding a new print shop was one of the first things I did to decorate my new place. I tried Target and Walgreens printing kiosks. Often broken, quality not always good. I wandered into Mike's Camera based on other Yelp reviews and I AM SO GLAD I DID. Mani Nadjmi was the smiling face who greeted me and talked me through the printing process. I came in with photos to print off my phone, and Mani made it super easy, plus the quality was really very good. Even for prints that were larger. I've gone by for other prints since then and she's always there - super patient, very friendly. Basically all the staff is incredibly nice, everyone's knowledgeable and they're all helpful. The prices and quality are good and it's quick. Print, frame, shop camera supplies here! It's become my go-to. read more

Mikes camera has the best customer service in town! I developed film on my new-to-me cannon Tx and Duane showed how to insert new film, tested my battery and gave me pointers! When I went back in to develope that film, I overheard Duane telling a customer who had a not-so great film camera that he would give her a better one if she paid for the film and batteries! Overhearing this, I asked if he had any other cameras and he gave me an awesome film camera from the 80s- I just had to buy battery and film! There was also a very lovely lady that assisted me-apologies o don't recall your names! thanks for always taking the time to tend to your customers! Love this place! read more

Ryan is spectacular! He's helped me out twice and I am now a regular :-) First with a mounted flash, and then with a lens. I could test them in the store when I brought my Nikon in. With Ryan as my muse, he let me photograph him as a portrait test! How nice of him to offer. I fell in love with both lenses he recommended. $2,000 for both portrait lenses I needed, so I'll be back when I get paid next week. It was recommended I call to make sure the lenses were in stock, and if not, I was offered to have them ordered next time I come in. Amazing! The staff and selection is great. They've got tripods, filters, and almost anything you could possibly need for a last minute photo shoot as well. Except maybe backdrops lol. read more
