Rob asked her to attend the Combat Pistol Level 1 training first to each her how to shoot rather than rely on a laser. The class itself was well instructed, and a very safe environment for all. Over 20 students in the class but yet you still got one on one instructions and training throughout the exercises. Everyone there was patient with all the different levels of shooting experience and made it a great environment. We can't wait to take the level 2 course and send our young adult children through level 1 to let them have the same fun we did. My recommendation for future students. Dont forget the required equipment, in addition to gloves you can shoot with, plenty of water and sunscreen. Keep an open mind and do your best.

I did not have the opportunity to do the written test as we needed to start shooting. I fired 50 rounds. 32 were in the center target, 3 short of the 35 needed. In front of the class the instructor announced, "you failed". Not once, but 3 times. I asked ,what can I do? Again he stated, "you failed." July 3, I wanted to purchase a shark coast rifle for myself before the restriction came into effect. The first one was missing the optic, and the flashlight which were supposed to come with it. The staff told me that they would contact the manufacturer to get those parts in. And I had my name and number written down when they arrived. Which never happened. Come a few weeks later, and I call Iron Horse asking about those parts, yet was not given an answer. I instead worked with the staff member on the phone and work out for another version of the same rifle would be ordered for me and it would arrive in three days and they would call me back. That also never happened, and granted, I should have called. I do not blame this individual at all in the slightest given what happened. He did place the order. I know that, and I appreciate it. I call yesterday asking about it, another staff member tells me that the rifle is likely still packed and they would look and call me back. Also nothing. Which leads me to today. As I asked about that special order, not only did they actually unpack the gun, but they sold it to another person even though it was reserved for me since I special ordered it. When I expressed my disappointment in the lack of communication, the person on the other line, Mark, tried pushing the blame onto the ban, and also onto me for waiting. Even though I placed the order before the ban, and was never notified....AND got sold to someone else. Their reasoning? "They have been flying off the shelves." What was their solution? Try to reason with me by saying they'd offer the class to me, but I'd have to pay for it, and the rifle both. I'm lucky that I didn't put any money down on the rifle initially. If it happened to me, it'll happen, and most likely has happened to others. I cannot recommend this place. I will never shop here again, and I will make sure to inform others so that they don't have to experience this lack of customer service like I have. I hope this improves....and I want to believe it. But as of now? I don't see it happening. Please be better Iron Horse.

The post was concerning someone open carrying a long rifle in the State of South Carolina, a state she (Karen) doesn't reside in, but felt the need to express her blunt opinion anyways. She commented on the post and said, "it was stupid, provocative and unnecessary." Just wondering how an individual exercising his right to openly carry a long gun, which is perfectly legal in South Carolina are the things you said? Are you saying exercising a right is "stupid, provocative and unnecessary"? It clearly states in the NRA ethics guide... RESPECTING OTHERS a. Trainers respect the rights of others to hold values, attitudes, and opinions that differ from their own But clearly, Karen was on another path that day. There were many comments and none of them showed respect towards one exercising their legal right to openly carry his long gun. The old saying, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all was thrown out the window when Karen showed up to the post. Will also be filing a formal complaint with the NRA on her rude attitude. Hopefully Karen can learn from this mistake and will help her become a better advocate for gun rights in the future.

I had basically the exact opposite experience when shopping at Cabela's from one of the sales people who seemed annoyed, impatient, and uninterested in helping me learn anything and for that reason, I didn't buy anything there that day. Mark at DCF showed kindness can go a long way and show I gave my $1000 to DCF rather than Cabela's as a result.

'An armed minority is harder to oppress'" I dig that a gun shop has this stance as it aligns with my personal views. The sales people are very friendly though a bit solemn sometimes. Once you get them talking they are very open though. They seem to have some nice pieces in stock if you want to buy from them directly but if you need a FFL. This is the place.

The staff that work here in the shop as well as throughout the entire range are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. We had a specific instructor assigned to us for our time here, and she was absolutely superb. The gun range itself is well set up with clear safety protocols in place. Any hobby at this time in 2026 is going to be pricey. However, if guns are your hobby, this would be a good place in terms of what you get for what you spend.
