Great experience with Alamo at Denver International Airport…read more I booked a midsize AWD SUV in advance and used Alamo's Skip the Counter option, which made pickup very easy. After taking the shuttle to the rental facility, an employee checked my confirmation and directed me straight to the vehicle selection area. My phone wouldn't connect properly to the midsize SUV I had selected, so Larry kindly provided a complimentary upgrade to a 2026 Chevrolet Equinox AWD at no additional cost. The vehicle was clean, in excellent condition, had low mileage, and delivered impressive fuel economy throughout my 7-day trip. The AWD came in handy during a sudden mountain rainstorm and while driving the scenic Old Fall River Road in Rocky Mountain National Park. The vehicle performed flawlessly. While summer pricing was higher than off-season rates, my research showed AWD SUVs are in high demand in Colorado during peak travel season, so the pricing seemed consistent with market demand. Returning the vehicle was quick and straightforward, with clear signage and a friendly attendant. Overall, another smooth rental experience with Alamo. I've rented from them in several states and have consistently received great service and reliable vehicles. Highly recommended.

The counter person was very friendly and easy to talk with. I have attempted to find the name of the person who helped us, but I can't locate it. It was 7/8...11:37. Far left person was great. We rented the car for 5 days, and the Camry rode perfectlty. Thank You Costco for assisting me on this trip.

Routes is fine and the prices are pretty good IF: you don't fall for their attempts to get you to…read moreupgrade, or get you to buy their insurance. Our insurance policy covers rentals so we have no need to do that. I didn't have our insurance policy number with me when I got to their office however, so I had to call my agent. Don't make that mistake. I was thankful it was during office hours! My husband and I laughed later about the car rental agent who tried to talk me into a bigger vehicle. She didn't think the Nissan we rented was big enough for 2. It was actually big enough for 5. We were allowed to extend our rentals longer, with no problem. After we extended it, our relatives were visiting offered us the use of their car so Routes gave us a full refund for the days we didn't use when we returned it early. So we did appreciate the flexibility

Do not Rent a car from Routes Car Rental at DENVER INTERNATIONAL!…read more When I received the contract at the rental desk, it said 1/2 tank of gas and 14910 miles. The person at the desk said to bring it back at 1/2 tank. Ok, no problem. When I got to the vehicle, the gas gauge read below a quarter of a tank. The odometer read 15057. I took a photo of the dash noting the gauge and mileage. I went to the check out gate, the attendant took photos as well of the dash and noted,"Wow, only 69 miles worth of gas in the tank" (as also indicated in the dash) "There's a gas station just down the road." She said no worries, we'll note the discrepancy for when you return the vehicle. I finished my trip, returned the car with just a bit less than 1/2 of a tank and left. About an hour later I got my invoice via email and they charged me a fuel charge because I brought it back with less gas than I started with. I replied to the email with the pictures I took of the dash and the inspection sheet I filled out indicating that the tank was near empty. I also told them that their gate attendant took pictures and noted the discrepancy for my rental file. They refuse to refund me for the gas they charged me for. These people are corrupt, DO NOT RENT FROM THEM.

This was a cluster…read more Waited a while for their busses (not their fault, just busy) to get out to the actual place to rent the car. When I arrived, I can only describe it in what felt like some kind of lifeboat situation. The little shack with rental counters couldn't be seen because there was a mob of stressed people wondering where to go and what to do. A MASSIVE line. Fortunately, I have a deal with them to just grab my car and skip the counter.. I think? I hope? I don't really know. I was supposed to look for a video board with my name on it, but it basically just said HDMI and was a glitching black screen. I walked around to see where my car was, and it was no where to be found. There were probably 50 people waiting for their car, and maybe 7 in reserve? So I went to one that sort of looked like what I rented, if I squint, and just took it. Went to check out, told the dude I sure hope I'm doing this right, and apparently it was all good! Ditto to drop off, the guy telling us where to park was like "sorry y'all this is a shitshow today!" We dropped it and that was the end of it. Again, hope it works out, I think it did? But yeah. Part of it is because Denver Airport is always busy and you need a car for the city or mountains. But I think Hertz should step it up a bit here. I'll rent from them again because I have the tier that makes it more convenient, but wouldn't consider it otherwise.

Hertz experience was the real disaster more than the airport in remodeling chaos. Every other…read morerental company had buses circling every 15-20 minutes, but we were left waiting for almost an hour. When the bus finally did show up, it was so overcrowded that people were literally at each other's throats. It was basically a free-for-all just to get on. Then, to top it off, I get to the lot as a President's Circle member, expecting the perks that are supposed to come with that. It was noon, the reserved lot was 80% empty, and the "premium" selection was a joke. Just a bunch of random Jeeps and huge RAM pickups ready to haul horses and a handful of base-model Nissan Kicks and Kias. It's just pathetic. You're paying for a top-tier service as seems Economy, Budget and Thrifty are better, but you're getting a bottom-of-the-barrel experience. They aren't even trying anymore.

I landed at midnight and waited 45 minutes to get picked up from the bus to the rental car place. Then, I had to wait in line for about another hour. Finally, I got to the counter, and they told me they were out of cars! At 3:45 am, what else could we do? We ended up renting an expensive car. When we received it, we discovered that it had no battery left. We had to sit at a charging station for an hour. The next day, we had two flat tires! We called to exchange the car, but they still had no cars left. We ended up canceling and going with a different company. However, they charged my card twice. When I went to dispute it, they fought it. What a terrible company! The desk people were horrible. One even quit during the duration of my time waiting in line. He was set up to fail anyway. How do you overbook too many cars for people? It's wild! I will never go with this company again and will be sure to tell my family and friends about this awful experience.
