Reserved Sixt rental at Denver International Airport for a Saturday 1pm pickup. It was super easy to catch the shuttle from the terminal to the rental car hub. Only issue with the shuttle is that the AC was not working and it was a heat wave in Denver, hi 90's We were dropped off at the rental car reservation hub. Those with the QR code could get their keys at the outdoor window. The representatives were having issues with car availability, they said it was due to customers not returning their cars on time. There was zero shade at the outdoor window, so that was pretty uncomfortable for the customers waiting in line in the extreme heat. I waited outside in line for almost 30 minutes waiting for a vehicle. Once I received the keys to a vehicle I was told where to walk to to find my vehicle. The car was great, the checkout process was super easy and digital. When I return my car, that process was also super easy. You just pull up and an attendant takes the keys and checks it in. Then you just jump on the shuttle back to the airport. Easy breezy. Overall it was a good rental experience and I would rent from Sixt again. I just won't stand outside in the heat. read more

Tried to rent a car here without a reservation and was told most of their models were sold out (Late Friday morning). They tried to rent me a car for nearly $300 for one day (which didn't even include any fuel or protection options). My wife rented a car from Sixt in Tucson Arizona at the airport. The car had a tire which was leaking air and she didn't realize it until after she had left the airport. Was eventually given a replacement rental, and still even after she has gotten home, Sixt is trying to railroad us for the "damaged" vehicle. The vehicle was given to her in this unsafe condition and Sixt won't own their mistake. Their nonsense put my family at risk on what should have been a relaxing vacation. Their claims department is trying to saddle us with their mistake. They treat the customer like crap, I wouldn't let my worst enemy rent a car from Sixt. Trash company. read more

It's always amazing to see everyone who is disgruntled by an experience with a businesss. Unfortunately, folks that have good experiences don't leave their feedback but they probably use that place again. So our experience with SIXT has been great for the times we have used them (CA, AZ, CO). From the free upgrades to the wonderful folks we have met. CO is no exception. The folks were so friendly. Even with the bit of snafu we had with our reservation not showing in the system everyone was still focused on great customer service. And from someone who comes from a CS background I am always paying attention to the service. Original Review: Awful check-in. Very unorganized and took way too long. The "fast" check in line, has you standing in the sun. They sent a survey to ask about our check-in experience, and I was honest, so they offered to apply a $150 credit. Seems nice, right? We have still never received this credit. I tried calling them (hung up on me), and have emailed back and forth several times. They just stopped responding. Then we almost got stranded, because the battery and the key was dead, and the car almost turned off. We had to go 30 minutes out of our way to go to a store to buy a key battery. They didn't do anything to reimburse us for that. Please do not rent from this company. Worst rental experience One of the worst rental experiences I've ever had. I will never rent from Sixt again. I wish i can give zero rating. When I returned my vehicle at Denver Airport, the Sixt agent suddenly claimed there were three scratches on the car. I immediately disputed this, because my own photos from before and after the rental showed no such damage. Despite this, the agent insisted on documenting them as "minor scratches." I later received a repair estimate that made the situation even worse -- it listed a long list of additional damages I never saw, was never told about, and that were NOT on the official return report, including supposed damage to the bumper, grille, headlights, tail lights, quarter panels, wheel liners, and more. None of this matches the condition of the car when I returned it. formally asked Sixt to explain why they added unrelated damage after the fact, to provide timestamped photos, and to break down the repair costs item-by-item. I also requested a reasonable extension because the deadline they gave fell right over the holidays. So far, the situation has been handled poorly, and I'm left disputing charges for damage I did not cause. This experience has shown me that Sixt's damage claims process is inconsistent, misleading, and incredibly frustrating. I strongly recommend avoiding Sixt altogether -- the stress and the risk are simply not worth it. read more

Honestly, I have to say 9 out of 10 times. I have an amazing time here. I come often for work and if the rates are decent, I just book here. One time I did get emails later on about damage that they were saying that I had but I contested it and I fought it. I spoke with an attorney about it and they didn't have any proof that it was me that made the damage and they ended up dropping it. Now I always take videos and photos just to have it, but I think that's to say with any rental car company. I've had something similar happen with a company in Mexico so it's always good to take your own videos. That being said, I still would rent here if the prices were comparable to other companies. I love the car options. It's easy to just grab keys. I've always been met with nice helpful, good customer service. The shuttles are easy always going in and out the shuttle drivers are mostly all nice even the people that taken my car when I drop it off at 4 AM are nice. Would recommend read more

I booked an SUV with SIXT through Expedia and paid in full at the time of booking, so I did not expect any additional charges. At pickup, I signed a form on a tablet after clearly stating I did not need insurance. The employee said they would only place a $200 temporary hold on my card for the security deposit since I was covered by my credit card. She then offered to "upgrade" the vehicle to a Jeep, which I understood to be complimentary. She also tried to sell add-ons like toll packages and prepaid gas, which I declined. The next day, I received a receipt showing about $600 charged for the 3-day rental on top of what I had already paid. The charges included "Peace of Mind" insurance, the upgrade, and other fees that were never clearly explained. This experience felt misleading. Absolutely unacceptable experience with Sixt. I was supposed to pick up a rental on February 9 and attempted to check in through their mobile app while on the shuttle. The app ran my credit card twice and claimed it was "denied." Yet somehow Sixt still placed $1,000 in holds on that same card. So the card clearly worked -- their system didn't. When I got to the counter, I spent 1 hour and 45 minutes with staff who could not resolve the issue. Because of Sixt's failure, I lost my original reservation and was forced to rent a different vehicle at a higher price. I literally paid more because their app malfunctioned. Now the worst part: more than two weeks later, Sixt is STILL holding $1,000 of my credit limit hostage. I've had to spend additional personal time chasing down a release for funds they never should have held in the first place. All positive until weeks after the rental. I received a bill for $400.00 for a 4-inch scratch on one of the aluminum wheels that I KNOW I did not cause! A Sixt employee checked in the car with me and no damage was observed. Weeks later, an email with a claim for repairs was sent stating that their AI check in found the scratch after the return. Every car rental company I have ever worked with inspected the car upon return and it was incumbent on the rental company to determine damage at that time. Not weeks later! I rented a car from Sixt from Monday to Friday for $380 ($95 per day). When my travel plans unexpectedly changed, I asked to extend the rental for just one more day. Sixt told me that the single additional day would cost $890, which would raise the total to $1,270. I called customer service to clarify, but they told me to contact them again on the return date. When I asked if the price might still be $890 that day, they confirmed that it could be. It was clear that Sixt takes advantage of customers who need to make last-minute changes, by demanding an unreasonable and excessive charge for only one extra day. Because of this, I had no choice but to cancel the reservation and still pay $200 as a minimum cancellation fee out of the original $380. Most rental companies either maintain the same daily rate or increase it by just 5-10% when extending a booking. LaToya is awesome! After a flight and a walk/shuttle from the airport to the rental car agency, we were tired, but once we saw Toya, our faces lit up. She has such a great, bright smile! Not having much experience driving in snow, we inquired if our reservation for an AWD smaller SUV would be a good fit. She explained to us that if we were going up to the mountains, a larger car would be better for our safety. We opted to upgrade to a larger car, and we are so glad we did! (While the weather report indicated light snow, we ended up experiencing heavy snow and our recommended car made us feel more secure.) Upon discovering that the system inventory was inaccurate, she upgraded us to an ever larger car at no cost. She also recommended a great food spot for us that we thoroughly enjoyed in Denver. Sixt has to be the most short-sighted rental company I've ever dealt with. I rent with them almost every single week and have personally spent close to $100,000 lifetime on rentals. I even opened a six-car fleet account for our sister company to keep all our business with them. And they blocked my account -- not over damages, not over fraud -- but over a $40 toll invoice. Instead of calling me or charging the card they already have on file, they forwarded it to a random collections agency. I literally found out through a collections call that could have just as easily been a scam. No warning, no outreach, no customer service whatsoever. So now Sixt has lost not just my weekly rentals but also the entire fleet account -- all over forty dollars. That's how little they value loyalty or common sense. If this is how they treat someone who spends tens of thousands with them, I'd warn anyone else to think twice before trusting them with your business. read more

I should have read the reviews as I had the same horrible experience of being hit with over $3,000 of damages for pre-existing and imaginary minor scrapes and scratches. Over $1,000 of that was bogus fees on top of the estimated repair cost. It's time for another class action lawsuit. Apparently the one they settled in 2025 did not change their behavior. read more

Stay away from Sixt. Look them up with the BBB. Dozens of claims of trumped up damage to the car and then declaring you responsible. It happened to me too. On top of that they appear to have ignored my booking thru Priceline (which I said i was there to pick up) and charged me for a completely new rental, so I ended up paying for this rental twice. On the BBB site there are over 227 pages worth of complaints. In most of these cases I reviewed (granted I only went thru the first 9 or 10 pages) , Sixt seems to back off and dismiss these claims. To me that feels like a scam. Hoping that the targets will just comply and pay them massive amounts of money without defending themselves. Renters beware. read more

Very dishonest and unethical! On Dec 25 2025, Anthony Rohlicek and his team at SIXT Denver advised me to cancel my car reservation (which I booked through Expedia) so that my mother-in-law would upgrade her reservation to a larger and more expensive car for our whole big group (instead of two smaller cars as our group originally planned). SIXT Denver also promised me a full refund and asked me to contact Expedia to process that refund (which I did right away). However, when I contacted Expedia again after a month to ask why I still hadn't received a refund, Expedia told me that SIXT "have denied the refund and mentioned that they have no records that a cancellation free of charge has been approved". My great experience turned very sour... The car pickup from their Eagle Airport location was great. Days AFTER we returned the car is when it all went south. SIXT reached out to me 3+ days later asking about tire damage and potentially holding me liable for it. Note this is the RUBBER part of the tire (not the rim) and well AFTER we returned the car and had it signed off by the person at the return location. I literally walked the car with the person and confirmed / reconfirmed everything was fine. SIXT never even sent a picture of the damage either, just an email asking about damage. I've never had this type of experience from a car rental company. Is there no limitation to when they can decide to come back to customers with claims of "damage"? I will never ever rent a car from Sixt again. I rented the car and drove off- no incidents and I had thought they inspected the car when it was checked out to me. I just drove off the lot- and when I returned it same deal. Drive up and walk away. A month later they said i caused a dent- however I would have noticed for sure. The dent would have been something I would have noticed. They disputed me and i am engaged in a legal fight. They have a reputation for doing this - especially with people that turn their insurance down. I cant believe how awful their customer service is and hope they go out of business. I have rented with SIXT several times. Upon arriving at the DEN airport at midnight last night, I was told I was on a DNR list and they could not rent to me, despite having a confirmed reservation. I received no heads up from SIXT prior to my rental of there being an issue with my account. They had not solution for my issue at the counter, they couldn't tell me what the issue was, and suggested I call customer service. Customer service couldn't assist me either and suggested I call tomorrow morning. By this time, I was stranded at a rental car desk off-site from the airport at 1am with 2 kids. Upon calling customer service the next morning, I was told there was a billing issue with a previous rental. It was for a toll fee that I was sent a receipt for saying it was paid with my credit card on file. I never received a follow up request from the billing department indicating there was an issue, or that the payment had failed. I also never received a notification that my name would now be on a "do not rent" list and unable to rent a car. I was allowed to reserve the car on my app, received a confirmation email of said rental the week before my arrival, but then not allowed to rent upon arriving. I had no opportunity to clear up the issue or find alternate transportation prior to my flight's arrival. This is absolutely unacceptable. I was told my complaint and lack of notification would be sent for feedback but when pressed about how I could escalate my situation, I was told there is nobody else I can speak to about my concerns. The billing department does not accept or make phone calls and I would have to wait for my complaint to be reviewed and they would follow up. This is no way to run a business. Reputable companies do not treat their customers with such disregard. I received horrible customer service despite having spent several thousands of dollars with SIXT over the past several months in car rentals. If they don't make this right, SIXT will be on my DNR list for future car rental choices. read more

Absolutely the WORST car rental experience of my life. I waited in line for half an hour (with only two people ahead of me). They didn't have the car I wanted, and took another half hour to dig one up (a Chevy Yukon for $400/day(!!) the same as they overcharge for a Caddy Escalade, and nearly twice what the other companies charge for a Yukon. If my grandchildren had not been waiting in the heat after sittin in a plane for 3 hours, I would certainly have walked out. If this were not bad enough, I was also charged for renting the original car I never wanted never used. Their "help line" in the Philippines is completely useless; if you ask for a Supervisor they are not available until some time after the Sun burns out. I'm now having to dispute the additional charge for the car I never rented with my credit card company. What a bunch of pirates! The poor people behind the desk were courteous at least. Someone behind me in line told me the agents were taking so long having lengthy chats with each customer (when they could see the five or six customer waiting in line) because the company forces them to "up-sell" customers into renting a more expensive car, or pressuring you into paying for some other useless add-on like the navi system that's not as good as the free one already on your phone. The agents are also trained to po-face and make you feel guilty because they will be punished if you give SIXT a poor review when you get the typical "How did we do" follow-up email. Must be a great place to work! I am so flattered that SIXT most graciously took a whole $100 off of my $5,000 bill after I completed the survey. When I rent a car from civilized companies like Hertz, Budget, National, or Avis , I walk in, give them my name, sign the contract, get the keys and drive away. Worst car rental place ever!!! Do not, I repeat do not use this place. They seem to like to use bait and switch tactics. Give you a nice newer car but there are no keys in like there should be, so you go to ask for them and they just switch the car to a much older one with a lot of damage to document. You do the check out inspection by yourself, take a ton of pictures and videos not just in their checkout form because you can't access them to prove the damage was there after you submit it. So take all the photos and video outside of their form too and save in your phone. They check for damage at check in and tell you all looks good and that you documented all the damage at checkout but then send you an email claiming there is new damage!!!! The worst!!!! read more
