So, I had a very poor experience last August with this company, particularly the owners and their…read moreemployee, Steve. If anyone is wondering why it took me 9 months to write a review, here is why. I'm not much of a review writer. I know sh*t happens, and once it's behind me, I don't like to engage in the negative stuff more that I have to. But, I'm back now because the owners appear to have JUST responded to the review my sister wrote, in which she took a lot of time and stress to put into writing, so that other folks could be warned and not have the same bad experience we did. Why would the owners only just respond now 9 months later, with an apology? It is too little too late. I'm not writing this review to get into a re-litigation over the particulars (a theft of our catalytic converter while our car was parked behind rocky mtn camper vans locked doors with (supposed cameras). It was unfortunate for us, but my sister and I get it - these things happen. What made it really awful, though, was the attitude first of Steve, their employee, and then of the owners themselves (erin and her husband). Did they apologize? Sure. Maybe. But only after sending us a reminder that they aren't legally liable. Somewhere in between their litany about how this could happen anywhere, even going into the grocery store, blah blah blah. The police could only help us if we could have access to the cameras, which the owners were unclear and sketchy about. Turns out, the posted signs about "camera surveillance" were just for show (which I only just learned about reading their response to my sister) - would have been good to know this BEFORE we decided to leave our car on their locked lot. So, buyer/renter BEWARE - our van was cool, our trip was great, but if you have ANY PROBLEMS AT ALL, don't expect the employees and owners to have any genuine support and kindness. They are unlikely to be genuine and supportive just because it's the kind and professional thing to do. Husband (Boyd?) is especially condescending, but neither of them appeared to actually care about our predicament. Just not nice people, which is too bad given the potential for this business...

It is not a quite or comfortable ride. June is a beast. June's heat did not work the first night and we froze. As much as Titus was me to believe it was operator error, it was not. Also, emptying the cassette toilet is not as straight forward as they make it. I did exactly as instructed, even shook it and was still was informed is was not cleared out. There must a trade secret here that was not shared with us. Also beware of the rule of no smoking. My partner does smoke but did not smoke in the van or anywhere near the van but we will still be charged a cleaning fee because my partners clothes absorb that odor and the company states that that odor in in the van. Mind you we brought our own bedding and mattress protector too. Finally. mother nature took her turn at June and at Badlands swiped the passenger door clean open. It happens, repair her and send her to amother adventure. All said and done I would have rather put June through the adventure than my vehicle.

We got the 4Runner (Hank!) and it was immaculate inside and out. Travis and team make sure that everything is thoroughly cleaned, so it felt like we were driving a brand new car. The over-the-roof tent is one of the best in class and held up very well in windy 30-40 degree nights. Everything we needed and more was included as part of the equipment/gear, which helped us avoid a stressful preplanning and the usual 'crap, we should've brought that'. This was also our first time in Colorado, and the personalized recommendations from Travis turned out to be the highlights of our entire trip. What has been evident from the beginning are the heart and passion that Travis brings to every aspect of the rental experience -- pre-rental survey, local tips and recommendations, thoughtful gears and equipment (and day-of add on's), and a genuine commitment to the best customer experience. I'll let the pictures do the rest of the speaking - but yourself a favor and book that car you've been eyeing with TAC, it really doesn't get any better than this!

Second time renting!…read more We had an awesome time with the Baja Ford F-350. Although it took some time to get used to driving such a large vehicle, the ride itself was extremely comfortable with all the bells and whistles that a modern high trim vehicle could have! (vented seats in the summer will never be underrated) We had the rental for a total of 3 nights. Pick up was straightforward and as long as you review the helpful manual that they send you (along with watching the Baja walkthrough video on Youtube), it should be all that you need to get settled in! The camper shell is very roomy with plenty of amenities and the fact that you can raise and lower the top makes the handling of the truck (when the top is down) a cinch. Having a roomy shower and toilet onboard is a true godsend when boondocking or if you're at a campground without those facilities. The battery onboard is large enough to run the A/C for hours on end and as long you drive and/or park in the sun, it will help in recharging the batteries so no need fretting if you can't find a place to hook up to power! With a large fresh water tank, it gives you plenty of water to take a shower (or 2 depending on how many people and how long they shower), wash dishes and clean up! The fridge is fantastic and kept our drinks and food cold without any issues (just don't overstuff it!). Cooking in truck was always easy as there is plenty of room to cook and prep your food! Overall we were quite pleased with our experience and the drop off process was just as seamless (just pop in the Rossmonster business and drop off your keys). The company and staff are responsive and their rigs are extremely impressive. Being able to rent one really gives one the opportunity to "try before you buy" and is something I will always appreciate. The company stands by their vehicles and designs and it shows as they actively encourage people to rent them out to see what all the hype is about! Would 100% recommend.

Someone had to admit that all is not perfect with this company. Construction carelessness issues…read moreand shortcuts abound. Some may have related to volume of business that came due to RV popularity during COVID, but -- 1. Refrigerator not properly vented -- vents into a closed cabinet 2. Upper cabinets not safely attached due to over "trimming" alteration of carriage bolts -- no useful advice from Rossmonster (my brothers and neighbors help me get it fixed). 3. One interior side panel is poorly fitted -- I will have to get a carpenter to help me replace it -- it bows out and it is pushing an original "cover" out of place. It was hiding behind the seat/bed, but totally visible and prone to damage when the bed is deployed. 4. Quality of fabric work is not good. 5. Installed screen on side door kept falling down -- turns out they had actually greased the slot in the door trim that they shoved the screen into -- it lasted about 15 miles and kept falling off (I have changed to a better brand) On the good side, the electric system is awesome. They were helpful during van design.

He was incredibly patient and professional as he answered my many questions as a rookie RV renter. Also, I got quotes from private owners as well as other RV companies and Road Bear was the most reasonable, especially with a drop off in a different city. Ted did everything imaginable to allay my concerns. He sent videos to watch and went over everything with us. Covid protocols were strictly followed throughout, so we knew we were getting an immaculate vehicle. Their vehicles are bought new and rented for just a year so we were only the second people to rent it. Everything in the RV was clean and in perfect working order. When we had a slight problem getting the propane water heater to work, the 24/7 help line was RIGHT THERE to assist with a pdf file and to walk us through the problem. Problem solved! I would not hesitate to rent from Road Bear again and advise anyone who is considering renting an RV to look no further. This business is professional, and reasonable. Also, oops - we crunched the door a little bit (wide load, beware) and worked everything out with them, paying a very reasonable amount for the damage. Look no further!
