    Had to come here twice to get the car we wanted. First, we waited 1 hour in line from 11:30 pm and they gave is a truck. They said we can pick another car the next day for which we again had to wait another one hour. All this time both days there were just two staffs and the service was slow. They have 8 booth inside but never seen them occupied in this busy hour. I would never rent here again. Horrible experience. Total waste of time.

    Original Invoice vs what we were charged

    When looking to rent a car, do yourself a favor and don't use Nu Car Rental. We agreed to $276.91 and were charged $514.42. We went through our invoice with a fine tooth comb and had to fight to get some of it refunded--definitely not all of it. They are sneaky, untrustworthy scam artists. We were charged $12/day for a toll package on a 2-toll trip from Denver to Keystone and back. They'll refund us, but then charge the toll cost plus a $30 admin fee/toll.

    1 rental agent for the entire rental operation. Guy keeps talking and talking trying to sell the add ons which doesn't help the wait.

    You get what you pay for. The upsell and add ons will end up being more than other rental companies. Absolutely trash business model.

We were also charged a daily toll rate, although there were no tolls we crossed. We were also told it would be cheaper for them to refuel the car than to fill it up ourselves. We spent $20 filling the tank before returning it, and were charged $37.80 for fuel. The vehicle we were given had a broken trunk latch that appeared to be temporarily held together with a piece of metal. The trunk would unexpectedly open while driving, which created serious safety concerns. Overall, the pricing transparency and condition of the vehicle did not match what was promised at pickup. I would strongly recommend that future customers carefully review all charges in detail and inspect the vehicle thoroughly before driving off. Rent thought Sixt! They were wonderful and less than half the price of Routes for the same amount of days.

Longer lines, tension between the written word and the action, and a car that was possibly the worst performing car I've driven. The shuttle picked us up quickly, which was great! The driver was nice and helpful. Then, more than 30 minutes waiting, even after doing the online checkin. They needed to verify documents, so there is no benefit to the online checkin, you're in the same line as everyone. Was told I'd be charged a $200 deposit, no problem. Then, they charged a $250 deposit. That would have been ok, I just like to have words and action to match. The car was a standard SUV. The car was such a gutless gas-guzzling SUV. Returning the car was odd. I pulled up and into the line of cars. After 10 minutes, I began to go inside and a worker motioned for me to move the car over to the line next to the one I parked. I moved, he was gone. I just walked around the car and filmed its condition, took pictures of the clean interior, and the full gas level. I went to the bus. So very strange. And, the shuttle driver was great, a nice guy that was very helpful to everyone. The drivers earned the two stars.

    We rented a van for two days, and we waited for about 30 min at the airport shuttle stop before we…read morecalled AVR to ask where the shuttle was. No one at AVR told us you need to call to request a shuttle to pick you up, and it takes about 20 min each way between the airport and the AVR office. It took about 30 min per customer at the desk to be processed to get their car, and there's only one employee at a time. Our van smelled like livestock, had expired registration/tags, the horn didn't work, and it was missing a knob on the AC. The back seat also did not fold down to store luggage, which you would assume some people would have if you're renting a 10 person van from an airport rental service. If you're thinking about renting a car here, don't. But if you must, take PLENTY of photos of the van just in case. Go with a legit rental company that doesn't have a 2 star review on Yelp. Also, maybe not as big of an issue, but there was no soap in the restrooms both days we were at the AVR office and used them. Hopefully the sanitation of their rental vans doesn't reflect the sanitation of their restroom. One pro: the shuttle driver John was a great guy and provided the best (and really only) customer service at AVR.
