Amazing food and friendly staff! Their bakery is to die for as well! One of my favorite meals is the Cougar Burrito!

We visited this place because of all the good reviews. Our first visit was Monday the 18, 2019 which was Presidents Day. We worked hard this day to get off early to be able to try this restaurant within its short hours of operation to arrive to find them closed. We were super disappointed but we decided to make another attempt to complete our work early to try again on Wednesday to make it before they close. We have now physically put in some serious labor to visit this establishment within its hours of operation to be terribly disappointed again. Not because they were closed but because the food was terrible. My husband has never complained about a breakfast until now. He ordered the chicken fried steak and I just had two eggs, potatoes and toast. My husband's gravy was greasy. He loves gravy and this was the first gravy he has complained about in the 28 years I have known him. The red potatoes cut into chunky shapes were visibly greasy and burnt, not browned, but burnt to the point that some of the burnt parts tasted like charcoal. They should have never left the kitchen. He ordered his eggs scrambled and they were scrambled before they were cooked but not scrambled while being cooked. The scrambled eggs came out in a round circle like a pancake. I am almost sure they were microwaved to get that affect and flavor. They were a really bad flavor. I myself have never seen scrambled eggs look this way or taste the way they did. He also had sourdough toast that was so tuff he used his knife and fork to cut a bite out of it. I ordered my eggs over easy which were also over cooked and my potatoes were in the same condition as my husband's, really greasy and burnt. No use of salt or pepper which also left the flavor greasy and blan. The portions were just ok in size. The only reason they are getting a two star instead of a one star is because the service was good and only lacked smiling faces. Because the food was all the way around almost uneatable, we will not be returning to this place again as is was hard to pay them with our hard earned money in return for what we were served. read more

A cute little diner with fabulous breakfasts (can only say that -- haven't been there for lunch. Yet.) The decor is cute without being overwhelming. The seating is very comfy. (Too many places these days have chairs which are too high, tables which are too low, or heaven forbid, BOTH.) A mix of booths, tables, and even a handful of seats at a bar. (The seats are old tractor seats turned into stools. Cute!) The greeting, seating and service is warm and friendly, in a very genuine way. Lovely cafe on the main street in Turner, Oregon. Every morning the baker comes in early to make cinnamon rolls, Danish, challah bread, banana bread, etc. (Get there early or call ahead to reserve a cinnamon roll because they do sell out!) My friend and I both ordered the challah French toast which was served on a warm plate with cinnamon honey butter and warm maple syrup! It was delightful and very good. She also ordered a side of ham which was very tasty. I believe I have found a nice little place in a quaint town and look forward to returning in the future. read more

This charming breakfast cafe in the countryside was way better than we expected- and we knew it would be good! I'll start off with their cinnamon roll...it is the BEST cinnamon roll I've ever had in my life. And I would consider myself a connoisseur of such delights. Their breakfast dishes were THE BOMB. We had the breakfast sandwich and something else that was amazing (but I can't remember what it was). If you want a nice breakfast that is reasonably priced in a sweet setting, this is your place. This was an amazing find, and a perfect lunch spot after leaving the Enchanted Forest. The food is made from scratch, they serve breakfast until 2 (when they close), and their food is really delicious. I had the waffle, and was extremely impressed (seriously...who knew that one could be a waffle connoisseur)!. My husband had the meatloaf sandwich (he had it cold, but you can get it hot, too), and our son had the mac and cheese. The staff was very accommodating, the seating was comfortable, and the area was very clean. You can see into the kitchen, and from what I could see, it was also very clean. What a great place! WOW! Where to start? Awesome decor, country, farmy, darling. Service: fast, friendly, excellent, she knew what we needed before we asked. Food: it was very hard to decide what to order. I am a fan of breakfast, but I'd heard their hamburgers were the best. (Biscuits, hamburger buns, challah for French toast, croissants for breakfast sandwiches, cinnamon rolls, pies, scones, muffins all handmade in house.) I ended up ordering a garden omelette with gluten-free pancakes. And yep, they were outstanding. The guy next to me ordered biscuits and gravy. It looked so good I almost helped him eat it. They make their own sausage, too. I also saw some beautiful salads get delivered (they serve breakfast and lunch all day). The coffee is Ticos and delicious. And I thought the children's menu was great. I ordered a GF pancake, eggs and applesauce for my date. And he ate it without crying. So, it must have been pretty good. No complaints. Very impressed. We have eaten at the Turnaround Café four or five times, and every time the food is fabulous, the wait staff is very attentive, the only downside that we have been able to find is it so popular and so good you wait for your food. It can take up to an hour sometimes to get a spot but well worth the wait. read more

Mother's day disaster. The 45 minute wait wasn't bad or unexpected. But the service was severely lacking. We sat for a while with menus down, no water and no waitress in sight. Someone finally asked for our drink order but then forgot water. The food, when we finally got it, was okay but not as good as two years ago. Even the coffee was ehh. We decided to stop here for breakfast before spending the day at Enchanted Forest. All the good reviews are spot on. This place was great! We arrived a few minutes before ten am and there was quite a wait. They seemed to have a very good system going as it seemed like it was going pretty fast. We finally got seated after about 30 mins. I had the biscuits and gravy with 2 eggs and potatoes. The biscuits were light and fluffy and the gravy was really good as well. My boyfriend had the chicken fried steak which he loved. I tried a bite and I thought it was really good too. My daughter loved her freshly baked cinnamon roll! I had a bite of this too and it was really really good. I def recommend coming here. This is a cute place and the pastries are good but the service leaves a lot to be desired. We went in for brunch (with a group of 7) and after waiting 20+ minutes for a table we watched as others who came in after us get seated and served before a server even stopped by the table.
