However, in its place is Temoo! I have now tried them, and the food isn't bad at all! They have only just recently opened and they are still trying to get their feet under them properly, but I ordered the gyro sandwich and five wings and they came out in a reasonable amount of time for having been prepared fresh. Quick note about the wings: Five doesn't sound like a lot, but they are both the drumette and flat together, so by other wing places' standards, it is more like ten wings! They have a variety of sauces, and I went for the mango habanero. It is definitely more sweet than spicy, but still tasty. The sauce distribution wasn't great, and there was a large pool of the sauce that was acting more like a dipping sauce than a tossed sauce. The gyro was pretty standard... the meat for it didn't seem prepackaged, which was a good sign, and it held up well. There is better in town, but this one holds up against most of the locations in town that make gyros. There is seating outside, under a shelter with four picnic tables, so at least you can eat under some shade during the summer months. The workers there were pleasant enough, and they brought my food out to me while I waited under the shelter. Final analysis though? Sadly, I don't see this place surviving unless they can come up with a menu item that truly brings people flocking to their doors. It's NOT about their food, though... their food is fine, and if they were located in some other location in town they would probably do decently. It is purely the location: the parking here is minimal, getting into the place is a rough stop on the brakes with traffic coming up behind you at breakneck speeds, and there simply isn't enough other commercial industry in the area to support them well. I truly hope that my prediction here doesn't come true.

I waited an hour with only one person in front of me and had to ask for napkins, sauces and utensil. I want this to succeed since I loved when they had a different name but their quality was solid. Their food is just missing a special touch . Maybe I'll wait once they get their footing but I want them to figure out the kinks. One of the ladies told my coworker that the reason I had no seasoning in my fries but she did was because the owner was the one that made my coworkers. I just wonder why they don't follow the owners lead.

I thought they would be served chilled, but they fried them. They were very good though, lightly fried with a very good dipping sauce. We also split the jambalaya, which was a very generous portion. The jambalaya was very, very delicious. The place has a cozy, dark, masculine, old school feel. Bartender very friendly. I'll definitely go back when in Gainesville again.

We arrived around 4:30 and still had a 15 minute wait. We waited at the bar and fun fact, happy hour everyday from 2-7 and all day on Tuesdays! Signature cocktails are $8 and beers as low as $4. This place has great prices all around. It's got a nice dining vibe inside, dimly lit but lots of windows, it sits on a corner. We got shrimp and scallop Orleans, stuffed shrimp and blackened red fish. Everything was served hot and at the same time and all very good. We all got collard greens and they were excellent. My only minor beef is that the blacked fish wasn't very spicy. Still great though. Service was very good. Great spot and best prices I've seen anywhere.

Gainesville Seafood, out on the Eastern end of town, is that place. It may not be the easiest spot to stumble upon, but that's part of its charm. This is the kind of hidden gem that loyal regulars keep quietly to themselves, the sort of place that feels like a reward for those willing to seek it out. The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious, the kind of no-frills setting that lets the food do all the talking. I went for a seafood platter, which was shrimp and fish with fries. They have a variety of different kinds of fish available that you can pick from, which is a nice touch. It gives the meal a sense of personalization that you don't always find at casual seafood spots. I went with the flounder, and it turned out to be an easy choice to feel good about. The platter was generously portioned, the kind of meal that leaves you satisfied without the need to contemplate dessert. All of it was excellent. The flounder was light and flaky on the inside, with a crisp golden crust that had clearly seen well-seasoned oil and confident hands in the kitchen. The shrimp were equally well-executed. They were plump, tender, and fried just right, without any of the rubbery disappointment that lesser seafood joints often deliver. Even the fries held their own, providing a solid, starchy counterpoint to all that seafood goodness. The wait wasn't at all bad either, which is worth mentioning because a place this good can often mean a crowd. Service was attentive without being overbearing, and the whole experience moved at a comfortable, easy pace. Whether you're a Gainesville local or just passing through, Gainesville Seafood is the kind of place worth going a little out of your way for, and once you've been, you'll understand why people keep coming back.

No major issues with the store, not the cleanest, brightest or comfortable place to shop, but the prices are reasonable for a meat/seafood market and they have all of the fixins' needed for a Sunday dinner after church! This day, I visited the walk-up window as I was craving a crab tray with all of the works. The woman behind the counter is the same one that's always there. What I've learned is that initially, I'm always underwhelmed by the customer service lol. She'll talk on the phone the entire order BUT she will get that order! I appreciate that the few times I have completed an order with her, she does give me a big smile and salutations and it truly goes a long way so I won't say that the service is beyond poor at all. The woman taking my order informed me that there were no more crabs which was understandable because I visited 30min before closing. I decided on a full Garlic Shrimp tray and 2 pieces of corn, 2 potatoes and 1 sausage (Heads Up: they are NOT included in the trays!!) I waited about 15 min or less and my order was ready, not a terrible wait in my eyes for seafood. I loved the sauce (although I'm regretting all of that butter today) and loved the corn & potatoes which are pretty hard to mess up. (I will say that those TWO potatoes = two slices of a potato, which is essentially 1/4th of a full potato... they should work on that math because the portion was beyond disappointing.) Both the sausage and the shrimp all tasted like they had been under a burner for hours, as they were overcooked like crazy. The full tray comes with 10 Shrimp but it seems that they gave me a little extra which I appreciate, but I only ate about 4 of them because they were so chewy. :( There's an art to Shrimp and that goes out of the window if they're not fresh or simply being reheated. I truly wish there were more seafood options in the city or I wouldn't have felt so desperate to go here! I appreciate the store, the available options and the smiles, but I don't think I will be coming back for another tray.
