This is a very good food truck! I came up to the window on my bike and a lady greeted me. I asked for maple mustard wings, but they had sold out of it. Looking quickly, I decided on the honey sriracha with fries. I leaned my bike against one of the two big tables in front of the window, and the lady called a man up to the window who was waiting in his car. I was happily surprised, when my wings came out faster than I thought they would. I needed a good meal before I headed to work. I found a shady spot and opened up my dinner. The wings were flavorful (not too hot) and had a unique taste to them, not just the same generic flavors you get at any generic wing spot! They wings seemed a bit small, at first, but when I bit down on the hot, spicy, sweet chicken, I could see that they were very meaty! The fries were amazing! Crispy on the outside and the flavor was amazing! It's worth going here just to get some fries!! Dipoing both wings and fries in the ranch dressing is recommended! Sadly this was a complete bust. Had been waiting for an opportunity to try the food truck and found they would be in Homosassa, FL. We arrived at Advanced Auto at the posted time to find that they were not even on site. About an hour later I saw the trailer being pulled a block away from where they were supposed to be set up....was willing to give it one more shot because the reviews and photos looked so good. Went today to Crystal RIver, FL and placed an order. A couple in front of me carried away 6 orders (I know part of their order was wings as I overheard the last part of the order they placed). I ordered a 10pc wings garlic parm and a 10pc wings blackened cajun. The order was $30 plus tax and I tipped. The gentleman who took my order was very nice. My order was ready in approximately 12 min. (remember there was an order of 6 boxes of food prior to mine and I heard the last part of the order being taken). Was surprised my food was done so quicky, especially when there was such a large order before mine. The containers were warm and nicely bagged. I put the items in a warming bag to keep it fresh on the ride home. When I opened the container was where things went badly....I have honestly never seen such small dry looking wings and the taste was not good at all. The wings were very dark (like maybe they were pre-cooked and then dropped back in the fryer to heat up?).....so $30 plus dollars for food I considered inedible. My friend ate some later in the day and said they were small, dry and maybe cooked twice. Such a disappointment, will not try them again. read more

Wow, quite possibly one of the worst interactions I've had with a restaurant/food truck. Ordered shrimp tacos and chicken tenders while this food truck was at SwampHead brewery. Waited about 30 minutes, our friends received their identical order but we did not. Went to check on our order - they had lost our order receipt and said they'd make us our order. 15 minutes later, received chicken tenders. Asked about shrimp tacos, were told they were being made. 10 minutes later, asked about shrimp tacos and was told they were unsure if they were being made and that she didn't know about the status. I then informed the cashier that we have been waiting for said food for quite some time, and have not received any word about our food. At this point, I asked for a refund of my food. No indication was made that they would offer me any sort of compensation for me waiting almost 1 hour to receive an order of shrimp tacos, especially when the mistake was made and acknowledged at 30 minutes. This is simply not how a business should be run, and I hope that this food truck company realizes that and improves their customer service to others in the future. When I calmly explained this to them in person, I was told that if I wanted an order of shrimp tacos, I could place another order with the cashier. Clearly, the sheer rudeness of their staff will prevent me from coming back in the future. The only positive I can say is that the chicken tenders were pretty solid - got about 6-7 tenders with only 1 tender being grossly undercooked. Fries were seasoned very well. read more

Our first visit here was incredibly disappointing. With all the rave reviews I can only assume we had an unfortunate and unusual experience and this review will be updated upon a return visit. We went in the middle of the afternoon on a Saturday and there were only a few other patrons. They were out of almost everything including drinks. The only thing available to order was catfish. We got one order of catfish and fries and one order of fish tacos. The food was ready in a timely manner. As for the service, it was fine, not overly friendly but acceptable. We received no forks to eat our food so we ate the catfish with our hands. But more troubling than having no eating utensils and not being able to order what we wanted was the shocking lack of flavor of the fish. It had no flavor. None. I'm not talking about a weakness of flavor, I am saying flavor was missing completely. The fish tacos used the same fish as the catfish and fries so basically we had two nearly identical tasteless meals. One had fries (which were good) and one had normal fish taco toppings. Very standard but missing any reason for us to return. Honestly, the only reason I would return is the curiosity of seeing if we'd just had a one-off blah experience. read more

First experience with Swamp Religion was at a Yelp event. There was a lot of good food. I enjoyed the shrimps and grits. 2nd experience with SR was at their food truck on University Avenue. It's parked pretty far off of the road on a mainly unpaved lot so at times it can look not open at all. It would be great if they did something that signifies "we are open right now" and not just parked in the lot overnight. During my second experience w/ Swamp Religion I had the shrimp tacos. I was really excited to try Swamp Religion Food Truck especially after they were at the Yelp event, Murder At The Tree. This is a locally owned Black Business owner, who puts his heart and soul into making this a successful business. I know its been over a year since the Yelp event, but I finally made it to Swamp Religion when it was open and it really did not disappoint. The burger is one of the best burgers I have had in Gainesville. You know they make them fresh and I was super excited about that. The Burger comes with all the fixings and taste wonderful. This is the on the same level as Bev's in Alachua good. The burger was hot and fresh and I could smell it in my car when I was driving home. Also, you get a burger and fries for like $7 which is great deal. I also tried the chicken wings. The wings are 10 wings for $10. I will say they are not the biggest wings I have had and some had very little meat on them, but the flavor was wonderful and they were cooked perfectly. The wings sauce I got was garlic parm and wow was it good! They were out of the Mustard sauce, so I will for sure be back to get that. I placed my order at the truck and got my order in about 10 minutes and they were really busy. The customer service was wonderful and the lady who handed me my food was awesome and wished me well as I left. I would highly recommend Swamp Religion Food Truck! read more

We waited about an hour for our food. It was 3 sharp biurgers. They apologized for the delay and gave us a drink on the house. About 10 people who ordered their food after us were served first. The burgers where mid, I'd give them a 6 out of 10. It was not worth the hype. I'd be willing to go back and see if it was a bad day. The menu was limited and lots of things were sold out. They were rented out to serve food at The Retreat from 3-5. The Retreat offered 50 freebies for their first 50 customers to stop by and once those ran out you had to pay. I went at 4:00 and the guy running the food truck said they were done selling and began packing up to leave. I was confused because they were suppose to be there for another hour. He then proceeded to say they hit there quota and didn't need to sell anymore and they were packing up. Bad business. If you plan to rent them out for an event look elsewhere. read more

Parmesan garlic wings here are my favorite. I was just so so on the sauce for the shrimp and grits it was tart and bland like an odd sour cream. I would have eaten this dish if it wasn't on there. They had their food truck out at the Tom Petty Birthday Bash. They had a pretty long line, which is a good indication of yummy food. I got the shrimp and fries. The shrimp was amazing. The breading was light and slightly sweet. And the fries were really good. I don't usually care for fries. At most, I find them to be a neutral, non-descript way to fill my stomach. But these were really good. I can't put my finger on why, maybe I was just in a super positive mood after such yummy shrimp. Whatever the reason, those were some good fries. read more

Good food. I would highly recommend the cotton candy lemonade, the fries, and shrimp tacos. However, they never answer their phones and their displayed business hours are not reflective of the times they actually are open. For example, I've gone by the restaurant between their business hours of 11 AM - 9 PM a few times and they were not open. And I would call to see if they were open, but like I said before they never answer their phones so because of that they are very inconsistent. read more

Very disappointed that we stood in line for 15 minutes to finally get to the window to order then was told that they were out of food. Shame on them to not know ahead of time to inform their customers that were standing in line. Tried it for the 1st time, such a great tasting cheeseburger. Tried the Grub recently and this place should not be compared to any other burger joint. Beef was seasoned well and burger was charred perfectly. Fries were great too. I definitely will be going back with friends. Location sucks and seemed unsafe but everyone was cordial. read more
