    Pan fried chicken dumplings
    Kathy V.

Visited Tumi for the first time recently but it certainly won't be the last! The restaurant ambience is very cozy and it feels local and family-run. Me and my husband visited on a weekday night but it was packed. We were thankfully able to snag a table though. The dumplings, the star of the show, are absolutely delicious. I ordered the xiao long bao (soup dumplings) and the pan fried chicken dumplings. You can pan fry any of the dumplings for an extra $1 which is the option we chose. Both dumplings were equally delicious. They came in great portions and were filling. I enjoyed the way they pan fried their dumplings - it made them a lot crispier. We also ordered the Chinese scallion pancakes which was just okay to me (it tasted a bit plain to me and I felt it needed more scallion filling) but the hubby adored it so it's likely a personal taste thing! I go wild with my dipping s for dumplings so I dip in soy sauce, vinegar and chili oil lol. It does feel like they cater to folks who can't handle a lot of spice because their chili oil had barely any kick to it. One thing I'd like is spicier chili oil! Otherwise, amazing dumplings, cute place, definitely recommend going!

We decided to check out Tumi Dumpling House as they're one of the first Northern Chinese spots to offer gluten free dumplings. It's a few doors down from Full Stop Coffee. We dropped in on a Thursday (around 8:15pm). Service was decent and our waitress checked on us several times. The menu is split into appetizers, dumplings, noodles, rice, main dishes and bings. There's $13.00 lunch special (12:00pm to 3:00pm). - Gluten free pork dumplings ($15.00 for 10) - we opted for pan fried ($1.00 extra). The texture was good but didn't develop much of a dumpling lace. The filling (ground pork and cabbage) fell flat. - Singapore fried vermicelli ($16.00) - good wok hei. Decent portion size. Would try the XLB's next time at TDH. 3.5 stars.

As a Xiao Long Bao (XLB) enthusiast, I have known this place as one of the few places that serve XLB in the west GTA. I finally had a chance to try it today. The XLB is sophisticated - thin skin is beautifully pleated, with the right amount of soup - the flavor was not too strong, not too blunt. Tasty for sure! But somehow lacking the distinct seasoning that other famous XLB places have (like Ding Tai Fung etc). Yet, this XLB is worth a try! Had Sheng Jian Bao - The wrapper was fluffy yeast dough with crispy bottom (by frying) and decent minced pork & spring onion flavor - but again, lacked the distinct seasonings I personally wanted. Yet, it is worth a try. The texture was perfect!

So happy we found Tumi Dumpling - we really needed a dumpling house near our neighborhood. We had the cold ear mushroom, scallion pancakes, xiao long bao & the pork & chive dumplings. All tasted yummy & we wished we could have squeezed in the red bean paste pancakes for dessert. The owners are so nice & for sure, we'll be back, with friends so we can try even more stuff. It's an extensive menu.

Stumbled on this place while walking along Dundas last weekend. We already had plans for dinner so decided to order from here last night. Ordered through Door Dash so didn't interact with the staff or go into the restaurant; however, I can definitely comment on the food. Even though it's called Dumpling House, they have other items on their menu. As a starter, we ordered the Green Onion Pancake and Cucumber Salad. The pancake was good, but lacking in flavour. They could have included more green onion as well. The cucumber salad, though, was quite tasty. Marinated in their house vinaigrette, it was refreshing. I would definitely order it again. Our mains were the Bao Dumplings, House Fried Rice, and Kung Pao Chicken. The dumplings were good and juicy with a lot of filling. We thought that they would taste even better with sriracha sauce. The House Fried Rice was filled with ingredients, which went well with our meal. The Kung Pao Chicken was good too; maybe a little less onions and more meat though. Overall, I liked this place and wouldn't mind ordering from them again. Good for: Chinese Food

Was in the neighbourhood so I popped by to get an order of the vegan dumplings. They are made fresh and are super delicious. The people working inside were very gracious and kind. I added a little touch of soy sauce to them when I got home because I am a salt addict, O L but the chilli oil that I was sent home with was also delicious! We would definitely order again.

Delightful restaurant with friendly service and yummy food. Loved the XLB and the carrot and lamb dumplings. Kids loved the beef "burrito" bing and the green onion pancake.

I've had the pleasure of eating at Tumi's twice now within the span of a week. It's not quite close by, but having stumbled upon it once, I knew I had to come back with my partner. Everything about this restaurant is great, from the spacious interior, to the outstanding staff and service, to Chinese food which is frankly hard to beat. The woman that served me was the same both times. I didn't catch her name, but she was exceedingly friendly and helpful. I've now tried the lamb dumplings, seafood/pork dumplings, beef noodle soup, cucumber salad, and the wonton soup. Fresh is the word here. You can tell everything is made with quality ingredients, which means that nothing is over salted or masked. The cucumber salad I could eat forever - extremely garlicky and fresh, there's nothing better. The dumplings are perfect. The shell to filling ratio is ideal, offering a bit of chew without feeling too thick. The interior bursts (literally, in the case of the lamb) with juices and meaty filling. A nice touch, they also serve baiju, which I haven't seen in a lot of places! Definitely make your way to Tumi. If you love Chinese food, this is a must try.

Sorry can't itemize everything...suffice to say it was all delicious!

I just ordered from this place on DoorDash and will definitely do so again. We splurged and ordered a few (a lot of) items. All of them were superb! Here's what we got: Steamed lamb and carrot dumplings: you could taste both the lamb and carrot in these little gems. They were simple and delicious. Wonton with red chilli sauce: these were fairly standard (and we enjoyed them) but I could have used a bit more spice. Fried noodle with chicken and mixed vegetables: the noodles were soft and flavourful. There was a lovely smokiness that permeated the dish from wok frying. Sautéed lamb with scallion: the scallion was actually onion but we still liked the dish. By itself it wasn't as flavourful as some of the other dishes but I still really enjoyed it especially when mixed with the peppers from our spicy chicken dish. Spicy chicken: by far our favourite dish. The chicken and peppers were both fried - crispy and spicy and wonderful. Neither of us could stop snacking on the peppers - they were just so good! Pan fried bao of pork filling: soft and chewy and crisp and juicy. This was delightful! We will have leftovers for days (not that I'm complaining)

The posters outside caught my eye, and I decided to come back with a group of three friends to try it out. We came a bit late around 8 PM, and most of the fish were already sold out except the original. We ended up ordering the Signature Spicy Grilled BBQ Fish ($40), a whole fish served bubbling hot with three toppings (potatoes, spam, and lotus root). You can choose between catfish and turbot, we chose the turbot fish. It looked extremely spicy, but the spice level was actually perfect. It was a bit on the oily side, but pairing it with rice balanced it out nicely. The fish was very tender and buttery, everything tasted amazing! We also ordered the Stir-Fried Egg with Tomato. The eggs were soft, the tomato sauce was rich. Not to mention the portion size was huge, we even had leftovers after eating until we were full. The restaurant itself was spacious, clean, and had plenty of seating. I think they were doing some sort of promotion so they gave us a $25 off coupon, though it expired pretty quickly so we didn't get to use it. I'd definitely come back for that grilled fish.

This is a new Chinese restaurant featuring Hunan and Szechuan cuisine. The spicy dishes emphasize…read morespiciness, not numbness. A few of their dishes come out on a sizzling plate with flames underneath. They are still in soft-opening mode with several specials. You can see the menus via a QR code. The Hunan cuisine is listed as "Hunan Noodles" and the Szechuan cuisine is listed as "Chopfire Menu". The Szechuan dishes are listed with 1 to 3 chilies representing the spiciness. If you can't handle spicy, then avoid eating the chili pieces and you might "survive". The restaurant decided to minimize their food offerings so that they can focus on refining their dishes in terms of quality and taste, including from customer feedback. We ordered the following: 1. Signature Spicy Grilled BBQ Fish ($39.95). 2. Home Stir Fried Beef ($21.95). 3. Bullfrog with Baby Ginger ($19.95). 4. Stir-Fried Cauliflower with Preserved Pork ($15.95). 5. Drunk Oolong (charcoal roasted oolong tea base) x 2 ($5.95 x 2). 6. Lemon Taro Balls ($7.95). We also saw the following: 7. Stir-Fried Sliced Pork with Green Pepper Noodle Soup ($9.99). First 10 customers each day, only pays $1.00. 8. Ink Painting Cocktail ($5.95). The Signature Spicy Grilled BBQ Fish came out on a huge sizzling platter. The BBQ Fish, a Turbot Fish, was very fresh and flaky, easily coming off the bone. There is no head attached like at typical Chinese restaurants but it would not have fit in the platter. The platter had a delicious sauce (soupy consistency and not sweet), luncheon meat slices, lotus root slices, and two other vegetables, along with chili pieces. The entire dish tasted great together with the various flavours. The menu listed it as 2-chili spicy but I could handle it by avoiding the chili pieces. The Home Stir Fried Beef is tender. It is listed as 3-chili but I could handle it by avoiding the chili pieces. The Bullfrog with Baby Ginger has the bullfrog cut up in little pieces; no you don't see a whole frog! The meat was actually good but most pieces have bones in it, so it takes time to eat it carefully. There was ginger slices in it but it, but we thought the slices were quite large! The Stir-Fried Cauliflower with Preserved Pork was very delicious! It came in a sizzling plate. The Cauliflower was flavourful and was not crunchy and not too soft. I've never had preserved pork slices before; it was quite good, not as salty as Chinese preserved vegetables. The Drunk Oolong has comes in a small bowl a with gin and ice. On the side, they include pieces of the charcoal roasted oolong tea leaves so you can smell it; quite a good smell indeed. You can also order it without the gin, which is what I ordered for mine (since I don't drink alcohol). It was such a nice drink! The Lemon Taro Balls dessert was pretty. In the centre was a slice of lemon. The customer service was good. There is plenty of indoor table and counter seating, including a small private room at the back. There is also an outdoor patio during warmer weather. There is pop music playing in the background. There is no free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, but there is no door-open button. There are two gender-neutral washrooms downstairs, so they are not wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2025-026

From the moment we walked in, the space already set the tone.. dark, dramatic, elegant, and beautifully designed without feeling overly stiff. It has that upscale energy that makes dinner feel like an occasion before you've even ordered anything. Food-wise, there was a lot to love. The signature apple wood roasted Peking duck was definitely a highlight, especially with the tableside carving, which made the whole experience feel even more polished and memorable. The skin had that beautiful lacquered finish, and the duck was rich, flavorful, and very satisfying. We also ordered a few larger dishes for the table, and I really appreciated how everything still felt refined without losing that comforting, indulgent side of Chinese dining. Some dishes leaned rich and luxurious, others were lighter and more aromatic, so the meal never felt repetitive. Service was another standout. Attentive without hovering, smooth without being too formal.. exactly the kind of service you hope for in a restaurant like this. Overall, Mott 32 is absolutely the kind of place I'd come back to for a special dinner, celebration, or just one of those nights when you want the meal to feel a little more elevated than usual.

Also, when we call to check if dim sum is being served, it makes sense to inform us of the dining room closure instead of having us come in anyway. We settled for eating in the lounge which ended up being good because bartender, Aiki?, was excellent as our server. Really great. Ordered the following: King prawn Har gow: standard. Not worth the premium Mott charges. Miso black cod dumpling: not good. Wouldn't order again Shredded Peking Duck Spring Roll, Sliced Vegetable : Excellent. We loved this! Nice and crunchy. Delicious duck inside. Good vinegar dipping sauce. Good volume Hot & Sour Iberico Pork Shanghainese Soup Dumplings: Fantastic and unique. The dumplings don't really need dipping sauce since inside there is a hot and sour soup along with pork. These are unique and delicious. Fried Wagyu beef taro croquette : pretty good but really tasted like a Jamaican patty Cold noodle with shredded duck : very generous with meat. Honestly a lot more than any other restaurant that serves this. To be fair no one charges this much either so it should. Flavour could be stronger but certainly decent. Fresh Mango, Coconut, Glutinous Rice Roll: nice fresh dessert. Our favourite. Frozen xiao long bao with chocolate and nut: Tastes like a mochi. Not bad. Dragonball Zen - fun name. Delicious drink. Jasmine Dragon Ball Infused Tanqueray Gin / Peach Liquor Lime / Rose Water / Mint / Seltzer Over $200 for this meal before tip. It's premium an debatable if with it. Will be back but just occasionally.
