I thought I loved meat but then I came to Tucanos and realized maybe I actually really like Brazilian cheese bread a whole lot more. The meats are a bit overwhelming. I think for me it seems like they start out with the okay dishes then end with the best. I don't think there was really a meat that had me begging for seconds though. On anothe note, I really like the servers, they were always very friendly and attentive. I only come back every year during my birthday for the birthday deal. Outside of Utah there are some really good churrascarias and they are much better than Tucanos. Regardless Tucanos is a great place to go and max out on some good tender meat! The dinner price really isn't worth it as there are only a few items more for dinner than there are for lunch. The salad bar is very good and has a huge selection. The Lemonade is outstanding and even better now that it is free refills. A great place to go with a loved one or with colleagues but leave the kids at home. read more

Unfortunately, Tucanos was the most delicious the first time I went, and has gotten slightly less impressive on each subsequent visit (which have been many). My recommendations: 1. Actually explore the Salad bar... don't let yourself get inundated with all the meat 2. Save room for some of that dessert 3. Go for Lunch prices Yes, the food is good, not GREAT, but solidly and consistently good. The major downside for me is that it's SO noisy in there. It's hard to have a gathering of friends because everyone's yelling at each other. Not great. The atmosphere was poor. The layout and feel of the restaurant felt like a "nice" fast food place. It seemed like every table had an event and this loud drum kept interrupting our meal. The salad bar was mediocre. Nothing was great, it was all average. It had the appearance of a lot of things, but kidney beans and canned pineapple tidbits? Really? The meat was below average with most cuts being extremely fatty. I about lost my appetite after the first couple cuts. I did have a few meats that were great, and of course the pineapple was wonderful, but overall I was very disappointed. The ice cream we got at the end was good. It made the whole experience slightly better, but still couldn't overcome all that we didn't like. The manager came by and talked to us and gave us free lemonades for our next visit which I cannot foresee us ever using. I think next time we'll head up to American Fork to the other Brazilian Grill. Bottom line, for the money this place is just not worth it. I have had $25 a person food that was way nicer than this place and tasted a whole lot better. I get the feeling that most of the people giving this place 5 stars never had a great meal before. read more

Menu: Beef - Top Sirloin, beef tenderloin, garlic Parmesan beef, marinated brisket, sirloin tip. Pork - Brazilian Sausage, brown sugar-glazed ham, pork loin. Poultry - turkey wrapped in bacon, chicken heart (it's chewy!) There is a list of specialty skewers, appetizers, and dessert to also chose from! Atmosphere: Really fun! It is a Brazilian grill, servers come to your table on and slice tender pieces of meat from the skewers. You have to try the grilled pineapple! If you want veggies, no worries! Always take a banana to a party and always take a Frenchman to Tucanos. We brought our friend who is visiting from France and he wanted to try EVERYTHING! We love the steak and the salad bar! The garlic sirloin is my favorite. They have a feta and tomato pasta that we love. We also love the marinated tomatoes and mozzarella. It is a little pricey but there are many options. Service is hit and miss, sometimes they are really on top of things and very responsive, other times they are almost too busy to attend to all parties. This was just okay. I've been here many times before and the experiences have mostly been great. This was my first try at the new location, and we were rather disappointed. Came in on a Friday at 6. Restaurant was no busier than usual for that time but the servers were definitely struggling to keep up. They missed our table several times and we had to flag people down more than once to ask for specific items that had either passed by us or not been out in 15 minutes or more. It was nice to see the chicken teriyaki back on the menu, but alas, it was burnt and dry. Our server was nice when we saw him, which was only a time or two. Would give it another try because this is unlike the normal experience we get, but if it goes south again I might have to start looking for another Brazilian steakhouse. read more

It was, but our table was so close to another party I had to move my seat to the middle of an aisle. Our dinner at Tucanos last night was nothing short of fantastic. We had only been once before (at the Riverwoods) and didn't have a great experience, so since we had a free meal coupon we decided to give the new location a shot. The food was flavorful, hot, and plentiful. Even the "cheaper" cuts of beef were so tender you could cut them with a butter knife. The timing of the meats was perfectly spaced out and we had the opportunity to try each kind at least twice, if not three times. The salad bar was well stocked and fresh items were constantly being brought out. However, it wasn't just the food that made our dinner so great -- it was the service. Our waitress Annie was absolutely wonderful. She told us that it was her first day on the job but she seemed like she had worked there for years. She was so personable it felt like we were old friends and she answered all of our questions without even stopping to think. I think the best thing about Annie was her enthusiasm. She was so excited and happy to be there, and you can tell that she loves her job. I also wanted to mention two of the gentlemen who served our churrasco, Cam and Devin. They were super friendly, very attentive, and took pride in their work. As I watched them, I couldn't help but think that they probably have the hardest job in the restaurant. They worked at a rapid pace and never showed any signs of tiredness -- "lazy" is the last word I would use to describe them. Those boys deserve a raise! Finally, the manager of the restaurant (I think) checked on us twice and was genuinely interested in how our experience was going. We appreciated it! All in all, we will definitely be back soon. *I do not know any of the people I mentioned in this review. I have been to Tucanos probably a dozen times or so over the last 8 years. I've been excited each time to come and each time satisfied walking out. I had a particularly impressive experience with Sam, our meat server, who went above and beyond to cater to our preferences and appetites. He really made it feel like we were being fed a personally catered meal that was "just for us". I'll be back to Tucano's again and again and I'll hope that someone like Sam will be taking care of us! read more

Always great food, but tonight was even AMAZING service. Our server Sydney was so sweet, even though it was a busy night she didn't seem stressed at all and was very cheerful. She came back several times during our dinner to check on us and see if we needed anything and how the meat service was. It was coming pretty slowly, so I don't know who she mentioned that to but meat started coming around super fast after that! We mentioned her amazing service to the manager when he came by at the end of our meal and he told us that Sydney is only like 1wk out of her training!! That blew my mind....She's awesome.
