Fresh bread & assorted cookies (10/2/25)
    Marie B.

Previous visit back on 3/1/23 gave it a 3. However, on a whim, I placed an online order for pickup today 10/2/25 and raised it to a 5! I ordered a small Godfather and a pumpkin buttercream cookie for takeout. Saw the text confirmation that my order was received as I was leaving my worksite. I arrived early, checked in at the pickup counter, and a few minutes later order was ready. Onsite dining room was full and lots of takeout orders like me. Pleasant customer service. Order was accurate and intact - signage said to check orders for accuracy before leaving. Nicely packaged and was provided with napkins. The Godfather was still warm and messy af, but omg so delicious! It was worth looking like a starving slob in the breakroom. Sandwich was generous with the pesto mayo, proteins, chopped lettuce, and juicy tomato slices. The seasonal pumpkin buttercream was tasty. Moist and not overly sweet. Delicious lunch, glad I returned after 2.5 years and hence the Yelp update! Just hope I don't fall into a food coma during a Teams meeting, lol.

Ordered a small California and added pickles, jalapeño, and peperoncini. The bread is really good! Plenty of toppings and quite filling! Order was completed quickly and was ready when I arrived.

What a damn fine sandwich shop! We have ordered from here more than a dozen times and EVERY item was fantastic! Seriously, every one! The sandwich ingredients are very fresh and the portions are not small. The sandwich variety is incredible and all are super flavorful. I love a good sandwich and have tried nearly every sandwich specialty shop on the Eastside. Tubs is one of my favorites and I'll keep coming back. Thanks to the staff for making such amazing sandwiches!

    Firecracker

Tubs has been coming up in the recommendations on Yelp for a while now, and I finally made it to lunch this week. I got the Firecracker sandwich, which comes with a hot BBQ sauce for dipping. The Firecracker sandwich was very good, I loved the spice from the jalapeños. It was also good to have the BBQ sauce to dip the sandwich. I loved my sandwich.

I had a client in and decided to give these guys a try. They had good reviews and the sandwiches sounded good. Glad I did cause the one I had was fabulous!! Let me first start with the bread...wowzers....delicious!!! Then everything on the Italian sandwich was fresh and tasty with the right amount of zing. Great job and looking forward to trying other sandwiches.

We've been coming to Tubs Subs since we were in high school and they had a location on the LCW. We were so sad when that one closed because it was the closest to us. But the sandwiches are so good we go out of our way to go to this Bothell location if we are even remotely going in that direction. My go to is the Firecracker. It is the one that comes with this super delicious, addictive spicy barbecue sauce for dipping. The bread is always perfectly toasted and crispy. It's description on their site: "Garlic mayo, firecracker seasoning, jalapeños, chicken, bacon, and cheddar cheese; toasted on a baguette, topped with lettuce, tomato and ranch dressing. Served with hot BBQ sauce for dipping" I am a creature of habit and cannot not get this when I visit. It is my favorite favorite! The folks working there are friendly and efficient. There is a small dining space but it seems that the vast majority of patrons order online for take out. There is a lot of in and out traffic there. I was happy to see how busy they are because I never ever want them to go away!

    Online ordering down.

I was very excited to find a non-chain sandwich spot right by my house, so I gave them a shot. The bread is not fresh or baked in house. It just comes out of a plastic bag. For 17 bucks you are basically getting 80 percent bread and 20 percent meat. On top of that the staff has been pretty unfriendly every time I have been in there. All business and zero warmth. I decided to give them another chance after a couple bad experiences. Their online ordering was down this time. I am on a short lunch break so I figured I would just call in my order for a quick pickup. The guy who answered the phone flat out refused to take it. He insisted their site was working fine and that I must be mistaken. I asked if he could make an exception and he basically told me to go somewhere else. I give up. Trying to give a local business my money should not be this hard. Heading over to Jersey Mike's instead.

    Funky Bird
    Jane K.

It was our first time visiting this sandwich shop. It's off the beaten path, a couple blocks away from other restaurants and shops. But it's charming with outdoor seating and located in its own building. My husband and I ordered the Italian and the Funky Bird. We didn't care for the Funky Bird as it tasted a flavorless despite the sun dried tomato spread and feta cheese. I also thought the ratio of the insides was off as there wasn't enough on the inside to match the amount of bread. The Italian was more well balanced and I would order that again. It's an order at the counter shop and then wait. I would suggest that they have table bussing supplies as I ended up using the hand wipes that I had with me. I'll be back to try out other sandwiches but it's about a 30 minute drive for me so only when I'm passing through. I am not sure I would make a special trip up there again.

Great sandwiches but not a great spot for eating those sandwiches. Restaurant is cold and sparse. I'd recommend getting your sandwich to go. Ordering set up is unclear. But staff is friendly.

Super solid sandwich deli joint! The bread is fresh and what you get for the price is amazing. There's a good amount of seating inside and a parking lot right outside. The service was reasonable and the ambiance is really chill.

    Phoenix
    Zac B.

Unique subs are the reason I return here time and time again, but the standard sandwiches you'd see at other places are amazing here as well. My go to is the Phoenix, extra cranberry spread. Service is similar to any sandwich place like it, with a pretty cool, huge prep area for the workers. Some sandwiches might be a little wait, so ordering ahead is recommended if you're trying to go in and out again.

I really enjoyed my cider! It was refreshing and I would definitely get it again. As for food, we got fries with truffle oil and a monster cookie with vanilla ice cream. It was all so good! I would only say that the fries are in need of more salt but that's something I could've easily asked for (was too lazy in the moment). Service: (5/5) STELLAR staff here. For whatever reason, I was craving Mediterranean food, and when I was searching for Mediterranean food in the Bothell area, where I was going to be spending the next couple of days afterwards, this restaurant showed up third on the list! As I was looking through the menu, I noticed their main cuisine is Indian cuisine, yet they also served Mediterranean food, which I thought was intriguing, yet a little dubious as I believe that a restaurant serving a multitude of cuisines could subject themselves to being spread too thin in their kitchen. I had looked at their menu beforehand and had decided to get the Gyro Platter, Butter Masala with Chicken, and the Goat Biryani, hoping the Goat would also mean "Greatest of All Time." I also got some butter and garlic naan to go with the meal. When I came in, Azmat was there to serve me. He had such a pleasant and calming demeanor that I wish the quality of the food would have matched that of his level of service. After reciting my order to him, he mentioned it would take 15 to 20 minutes for my order to be ready. I was sitting in a seat by the front door while several other customers came in to pick up their online orders. I thought about ordering online, but realized it would have cost a few dollars extra to do so, hence why I decided to go there in person to order. After 10 minutes, a server noticed me sitting there and offered to assist. I knew it was early, so there wasn't much she could do at this point. 15 minutes later, an employee came from the back to hand me my takeout order while apologizing for the long wait. Well, not too bad of an extended wait though. But what was too bad was the two Indian dishes that I ordered. Neither the Goat Biryani nor the Butter Masala really left any impression whatsoever. They definitely didn't taste bad, but I felt the flavors in both were quite muted. I did like the Gyro Platter better, though, but I wouldn't say it was as good as other Mediterranean spots I've been to in SoCal. The Naan breads didn't leave any impression either; I would have guessed it was just plain Naan bread. For a fraction of the cost, I'm sure you could go to one of Safeway, Fred Meyer, or even QFC for a pack of plain Naan bread that would taste almost as good. Bay Leaf Bar & Grill is located at the base of the Junction Apartments next to McMenamins Anderson School. There's plenty of parking closer to the school, but parking adjacent to Bay Leaf is quite scarce. There's a wide bike path that almost looks like a sidewalk, but is wide enough for cars to drive through. There are a few on-street parking spots directly in front, but right before these spots, there's an alleyway that has a few parking spots albeit 15 minutes only. Some of the spots are reserved for McMenamins, but I do remember the first one not having any mention of McMenamins. I wouldn't mind coming back if I wanted a taste of both Mediterranean and Indian in the same meal, especially since the interior looked so fancy and well-maintained! However, if I wanted just one or the other, I'd look elsewhere next time I'm visiting the area. Overall, 7 stars out of 10, but rounded down. * My visit was back in November of 2025; I had gone on a hiatus from posting reviews, hence the rather last post.
