The newest spot for California Mexican style food. The food was very good. I kinda of wish I had ordered the nachos because they looked delicious. The beef taco had some good flavor. Steak taco was also tasty. I also had the al pastor torta talk about a sandwich. This place is definitely something to try out. The owner is an awesome guy! I would recommend to anyone to check it out. There is a wait though but definitely worth it. As for dining there really isn't much seating. I live here and these are the best tacos at the beach. Seriously, I eat here all the time so I know. I am pretty sure I was a taco judge in a previous life so I know good tacos and these are it. After living in Miami and Dallas it has been nearly impossible to find Mexican food that even comes close however tu taco was fantastic. Very authentic and extremely tasty. We got the chicken and carne asada tacos as well as the street corn and churros. All was delicious and worth the wait as it was rush hour at lunch time. read more

I'm going to start off by saying their food is outstanding, and employees are very polite. I used to go to this taco shop 2 to 3 times a week! I used to tell everybody on my tours about this place. But the last few times I have went I have asked for pico and other sauces, and they charge me extra for a little container when I'm dining in. It just feels like they started to nickel and dime people! So I started to look for another good taco shop, and I found one that is pretty close to Market Common called Taqueria Guanajuato. I'll tell you what - this place was absolutely outstanding. And when I looked at them this morning, they had a better health rating score on yelp, which made me even more excited! I gave Tu Taco four stars is because of their service and how delicious they are, but now I have found a new taco shop that I'll be letting all the tourists know about - Taqueria Guanajuato!!! read more

I had a pregnancy craving and this place definitely hit the spot!! The steak and shrimp tacos were amazing!!! So flavorful! (They don't NEED it but do yourself and squeeze the fresh lime on to kick the flavor up another notch )! I ate the steak one before I even thought to stop and take a picture, but the shrimp one is shown below. I also had the churros and they were perfection!! Like I'm literally already planning on going back tomorrow for these!! They came with a dip but They were delicious without it so I didn't even try that. Best taco spot I've found since moving to the beach 10 years ago! Birria was on point! Tender meat w the perfect consommé. Rolled tacos were awesome crispy and great w the salsas they offer. We loved this place until recent months. Prior to the last three months, they made outstanding tacos! 5 star every time. Pure joy on a tortilla. The Al Pastore being our absolute favorite! 2 Beautiful fresh corn tortillas, lots of fresh cilantro, red onions, limes on the side and never lacking in the marinated pork. PILED UP!! Then something changed. We stopped in to grab some tacos and when we got home and opened the tacos, they looked as if they had been deep fried or fried up like a grilled cheese on the griddle. A horrible orange greasy mess of a nightmare. Inedible for me. If I didn't know better I'd have thought we bought Burger King, 711 or Jack in the box tacos! If you know you know... Anyway, my husband sopped up the grease with a roll of paper towels and managed to get a few down much to his regret later. absolutely disgusting Here's the thing, When we called them they told us that's how they make them!! Not for the eight months we had been going there once a week. So we chalked it up to perhaps my husband ordering wrong. It happens. The second time we returned after this incident my husband ordered how he had always ordered and the same thing happened. Of course he forgot to tell them not to fry them up. So On the third trip my husband told them he didn't want them to be fried just fresh prepared and they said they couldn't make them that way so we left. Took a shot again thinking maybe it's the staff making them different depending on who is working. So my husband again requested to have them the way we used to get them. Telling them in detail that the tacos were never a greasy mess. They were on two fresh corn tortillas with a healthy portion of the marinated pork, fresh cut cilantro and onions and not fried up. They reluctantly prepared them but not without him being lectured & told once more they don't make their tacos like this. Then there was some aggressive Spanish between the manager and the cook. Bottom line that time the tacos were just ok. Nothing to write home about on this trip. Then a few days later I was researching to see if TU TACO had changed owners recently and I saw a post from a young lady doing a review with a picture and her tacos were made the exact way we had been getting them for all those months, 4 times a month. I'm not sure what was going on but we have since found a new taco place closer to us and we tell all of our friends and family to avoid TU TACO when they come to visit. Lost a weekly customer that spent close to $120 every Tuesday, without fail for over 8 months, and we were highly excited to do so because the tacos were absolutely outstanding!! It was just such a weird situation. We felt like we had our own personal Mandela effect unfolding before our eyes. Everything we experienced with their food somehow never happened and yet a young lady posted, just a few days after the first greasy incident, the tacos we had become addicted to. As close to SoCal Mexican I have found in the area. The carne asada fries were absolutely delicious. Added some of their hot sauce (not pictured) and it sent it over the top. One word needed .... AMAZING!!! I had the birria tacos and there was soooo much flavor in the consommé yum!! My husband had the chicken and Al Pastor and he devoured them in very little time. He said the chicken was his favorite, seasoned to perfection. We also got the beans and when I tell you they were the star of the show, I kid you not, we fought over the last bite.
