After living in Miami and Dallas it has been nearly impossible to find Mexican food that even comes close however tu taco was fantastic. Very authentic and extremely tasty. Tu Taco in Garden City, SC, is the best California Style fresh Mexican Food to be found on East Coast. It is not a real restaurant style atmosphere but frankly we are not really looking for that, it isnt fast food either. There are places to sit and a small liquor bar everything you need. Garden city Tu taco. Menu looked good - bit pricey but decided to give it a try. Place was a third full, 5 people working behind the bar and kitchen. I sat at Bar 10 minutes - not served. Manager or server / not sure what he was - was chatting with a couple and couldn't be bothered. 4 others back there were sitting idle and chatting. I'm going to start off by saying their food is outstanding, and employees are very polite. I used to go to this taco shop 2 to 3 times a week! I used to tell everybody on my tours about this place. But the last few times I have went I have asked for pico and other sauces, and they charge me extra for a little container when I'm dining in. It just feels like they started to nickel and dime people! So I started to look for another good taco shop, and I found one that is pretty close to Market Common called Taqueria Guanajuato. I'll tell you what - this place was absolutely outstanding. And when I looked at them this morning, they had a better health rating score on yelp, which made me even more excited! I had a pregnancy craving and this place definitely hit the spot!! The steak and shrimp tacos were amazing!!! So flavorful! (They don't NEED it but do yourself and squeeze the fresh lime on to kick the flavor up another notch )! I ate the steak one before I even thought to stop and take a picture, but the shrimp one is shown below. I also had the churros and they were perfection!! Like I'm literally already planning on going back tomorrow for these!! They came with a dip but They were delicious without it so I didn't even try that. Oh I also had the pineapple agua Fresca and it was so delicious and refreshing! Will be the best in the hot summer, on the beach!!
