Service was great. Food was fast and great. I'll definitely be back. It was a little warm but I like that better than how cold most restaurants keep it. read more

They had great service, they also offered a free picture for coming and dining here. Marina was the photographer and room beautiful pictures at great prices if you wanted more than one picture!!!! read more

Great place for good Tex-Mex. The food is good and they have decent beer selection on tap. The salsa was fresh and fantastic. The atmosphere is simple, but welcoming. The service is good. Plenty of parking. Most meals can be altered to be vegetarian by just asking for no meat. The beans and rice are vegetarian, not being cooked with lard or meat stock. read more

5 De Mayo Mexican Restaurant - Vegetarian nachos supreme with beans and rice, no meat - Mexican Near Me - Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Not a fan. Feels old and dirty and like "good enough". Food was less than delicious. Tacos, Burrito and enchilada is what we got. Wouldn't go back even though we are just on vacation. Service was fine. read more

very good i had chicken nuggets and fries i would recommend for you guys very yummmm

Let's start with one of the (few) good things about this place. The chicken in my dish tasted wonderful. Everything else, however, was pretty crap. Rice was bland, cheese dip tasted awful, and my partner's chimichanga was more vegetable than meat, and what little chicken there was did not taste very good. It was very empty for being 6pm, and now I can see why. The service itself was decent until we were finished, and we had to wait a decent while for the check. Check came out to 48 dollars without tip, incredibly overpriced for subpar food with fairly small portions. Will not be coming back, and would not recommend. read more

Did not entirely disclose would would be inside of the chimichangas, was almost only half peppers and onion. Chicken in it wasn't very good. Their "large" cheese dip was only a tad bit bigger than any normal size cheese dip, for $10. A bit pricey for subpar food compared to other Mexican restaurants in the area. read more

5 De Mayo Mexican Restaurant - Mexican Near Me - Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Had dinner at this restaurant last night- steak Mexicano. The fish arrived after the other 8 people in my party had already been served. I ate maybe 4-5 bites of food and it tasted like crap! I'm just being checked out of the hospital due to food poisoning. I started pulling about 5 min after leaving the restaurant. The meal gave me an overnight stay in the hospital. Additionally, the restaurant is just plan dirty - I should have walked out after viewing the lack of decoration and cleanliness of the place! Bottom line, while the rest of the party ate their food without incident (I was the only one who ordered steak), no one really enjoyed their meal. Stay away from this joint - there are plenty of other restaurants to go to. read more

This place was a great surprise! Both of our orders were above terrific, and we will be going back soon.

Service was amazing! Chips and Salsa wonderful! Wife loved her Steak Tacos I loved my Pollo Fundido Great find in Myrtle Beach read more

When pulling up to this restaurant, your first thought is that the food won't be worth it. But never judge a book by its cover, while yes it is high price. The food is definitely worth every penny, great customer service, great food amount and quality. I would come back again. Definitely a restaurant being slept on. read more

5 De Mayo Mexican Restaurant - Typical Sunday - Mexican Near Me - Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

While staying in MB we saw this place had great reviews and gave it a go. Do not judge the book by its cover. It's not at all fancy but the food is delicious and the portions are huge!! My daughter ordered Asada Tacos and I ordered Shrimp & Asada Fries. My daughter said the Asada Tacos were really good. My fries were delicious! I'm also a big salsa and chips fan. The salsa was amazing. The hubs asked for a spicy salsa which they have if you like HEAT/SPICE! He loved it. read more

After a long 9 1/2 hour drive from NJ, we were hungry. My daughter (17) wanted Mexican. We looked up a few spots and decided to come here. We were seated right away, but it was busy. There were about 5 tables no cleaned yet. The menu was quite large sp we asked our server to take our drink order amd come back (twice). We settled on our options. And they were both delicious. I had a California burrito and my daughter had steak and shrimp with rice. The chips and salsa were great too. We did order cheese for the chips and he forgot about them. He apologized many times for the wait. He was so nice. What a great meal considering we didn't know anything about the place. They did seem shorthanded and all the servers were nonstop. read more

Went to lunch here based on the Yelp recommendations of 4 stars +. We started with the guacamole which was very bland. We added some salsa (which was good) and salt and that took care of it. I ordered carne asada and my wife had Pollo ala Mexicana. The beef was tasty but a little gristly. The rice and the pico were tasty but the beans were not hot. My wife's chicken was tasty but the same thing with the beans. We talked to the waitress about the beans but all we got was, "oh really?" Lunch was $50 with sodas. Overall ok but overpriced for the quality. read more

I should have came here again! Waited for a few minutes and sat right down! Order drinks and got them right away, margs we're great touch after being on the beach! Our waiter was great had no issues! The food was so good! Chicken chimichanga was the best I ever had! The chips and salsa are to die for! Will be back!

Nothin' fancy at all. Most people probably drive by it. The food was equal to a thousand other local Mexican places in every town. Which isn't necessarily bad, but not a special "vacation" type dinner. Overall, it's just good mexican comfort food. read more

Amazing food the people were nice. Ordered a lot a food but it was reasonably priced. Came at a perfect time before the dinner crowd. If you go you have to order the Carne Asada and Shrimp Fries. Good food & vibes!! Very affordable!! Our server was really nice and helpful as well.

Ok, so my family & I are coming from TX & are in MB for a week, we wanted some good food and decided to try this little spot. First of all, we walked in and it was packed! The atmosphere of course it was busy, and wish staff was more welcoming. 1. The wait was ridiculous due to not enough seating. 2. The waiter took a while to get our drink order. 3. The MICHELADA was BOMB! gotta give them that. 4. I ordered the carne asada & shrimp fries, it was delish! Def recommend. 5. I do wish service was better, we had 3 different ppl bring our food at different times (BIGGEST PET PEEVE) 6. Our waiter was nice, but wish he was more attentive to us especially with this being our FIRST TIME! The only reason for the 4 stars was the food, but for the service def a 3. read more

5 De Mayo Mexican Restaurant - Michelada con camorones. - Mexican Near Me - Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

We had a small family reunion at one of the local resorts. We were 12 deep...and just showed up with no advanced warning. It was obvious that they weren't used to parties that size and definitely weren't ready for us. The fact that they were able to accommodate us was awesome. Do you know the probability of 12 people enjoying the food at any restaurant? I don't either, but they knocked it out of the park. I loved it even though I had mad plate envy (you know when you order something, but your mate's food comes out looking better?) for just about everyone around me. If there is any negative, it would be attributed to the size of party and the difficulty of feeding that large of a party. And they didn't even add gratuity...but we made sure we took care of them. I'm all over the place here, so here is the bottom line. The food was great...I'd go back here if I were ever in Myrtle Beach again. read more

We are still sitting here after enjoying a delicious meal. I got Shrimp Ajo and I still have 6 shrimp left along with rice & beans! Large portions. My husband got the Choripollo and said it was fantastic. He has a healthy appetite and left food because the portion was so generous. The salsa they provided was perfect for me - tangy at the beginning and finishing with a bit of heat. I could keep going but just go see for yourself how good this place is. YUM!!!! read more
