This has quickly become one of our favorites in Myrtle beach. The atmosphere is amazing, service is friendly, prices are good, and food is delicious. So they do get 5 stars in my book... However, now that we've gone multiple times i can confidently say it is rather inconsistent. Sometimes your burrito is swimming in an amazing cover of cheese and sometimes is a little more than a drizzle. This latest time something must have been a little off because my tried and true Al Pastor burrito came with 95% rice inside... I don't think I saw any beans and only a few pieces of meat. Again - this is not the norm and my great experiences outweighed this last visit, but consistency in the long run will be important. I'd also agree with the reviews saying they like to charge for upsells and they are pretty good at pushing them. I love their house hot sauce but paying a dollar for hot sauce at a Mexican restaurant seems a bit absurd... Overall worth a try and we will continue coming back but there is some fine tuning for management! read more

I've been here for happy hour a couple times now and both times its been relatively bustling. The food here is good and their happy hour pricing is very fair. 6 dollar coconut margs are nice and chips and chorizo queso for 6 bucks would be too, if you could get someone to bring you a chips refill. I subtracted two stars because on each of my trips here, the service has pretty much sucked. Both times our party was basically totally forgotten about...no refills on chips or waters and we had to go off elsewhere inside to flag someone down simply to get and then pay our bill. My family and I went down to Myrtle beach in November of last year and we found this place on Yelp. It was our favorite place we went to! It was a really nice ambiance. There was 10 of us in our party and that was no issue. It was more "upscale" Mexican food. I had a variety of tacos and my wife did as well. I'm giving this 5-stars because the food is so great, it would be a disservice to dock them. I got the steak burrito and it was fantastic! The others I was with got the tacos, short rib and carne asade and theirs all looked great as well. The only room for improvement was the very slow service and how long it took to bring our food out. Ambiance and service were both excellent. The restaurant was clean and not crowded at 3:45 PM. Three of us ordered from the lunch menu and one ordered the chicken chimichanga from the supper menu. The food presentation was excellent, but two of the meals (Mango salad with chicken and chimichanga with chicken) were only average due to either overcooked or just tough chicken. None of the deserts except flan are made in house. The restaurant was out of Tres Leche cake, but the butter cake with ice cream and caramel sauce was very flavorful. This was probably my favorite spot we ate at this past summer on vacation. We found out it's owned by another restaurant we love, Drift, and we knew this was going to be a bomb meal too. The space was huge and very upscale for Mexican food which I appreciated. Service was also great and that was hard to come by on our entire vacation so props to them. The food was amazing. Every single thing I ate was delicious. The street corn and ACP were faves. We also tried two desserts and I still think about them to this day. As I said in a different review, Myrtle is upping their cuisine game and this is another example. Starting with the margaritas, the ingredients are fresh and they're huge!! Unique flavor combos. Service was fine although we ordered an appetizer and 3 minutes later the entrees came out which is exactly what the waiter said would not happen. The carne asada French fries were outstanding, the steak was seasoned and cooked well and their queso is sinful. Quesabirria was not seasoned and the broth was flavorless. We sat in the "patio" are, and they opened the windows and it was such a lovely day. The skinny margarita was beautiful and delicious! And the food, phenomenal! I got the southwest salad with shrimp and my husband got the tampiquena which is a brunch item, I'm not joking when I say one of the best bites of steak I've ever had. We really wanted to love Cantina Imperfecto because we love their sister restaurant Drift, but it left quite a bit to be desired. We started with drinks - the margaritas tasted artificial at best (we had coconut and watermelon mint), but the standout was the smoked tequila old fashioned. For an appetizer we ordered the dip trio - the hummus was phenomenal, the cheese dip was good & what we expected, but the "guacamole" dip was not good at all & looked like something you would get out of a squeeze tube. Now they do make actual tableside guacamole & that looked good - but do not expect that on the trio. For meals - we got birria tacos, the molcajete, steak fajitas and veggie fajitas. The birria tacos were delicious. The fajitas were huge portions & also very good. The molcajete was hard to eat because nothing was sliced through and they didn't bring a plate for it. As for atmosphere, it was fairly loud inside the restaurant and our server was very soft spoken so it was hard to hear him at times & he got a few of the drinks we ordered incorrect. So a total of $4.50 additional for basic requests that should in no way be an extra charge. The complimentary chips and salsa are delightful - fresh chips, nice and crunchy, and a perfectly-blended salsa that is deliciously mild for those who are sensitive to heat (like my husband ;) ) Our server, Keiver, was professional, friendly, and attentive. The bartender, Vira, mixed the best Palomas we've had in Myrtle Beach. For dinner, we went light - I had the Southwestern Salad with grilled chicken. The chicken was moist, perfectly cooked, and flavorful. The dressing was divine - a ranch/cilantro lime combo that was both refreshing and creamy. My husband had the chicken chimichanga. Let me tell you: it is hard to find a deep-fried chimichanga ANYWHERE - it's the best way to enjoy one! This chimichanga was outstanding - flavorful and fresh - with a light creamy cheese sauce and fresh pico on top. We were too full to order dessert, so will have to update next time.
