Drove by on my way to the beach and decided to turn around and try this place, so glad I did. Today on our two hour drive to the beach I made a point to stop again and bring my husband. It is so delicious! It's a little different than the PNW style Mexican food I'm used to and dare I say, I might like it better. OH and they have homemade tortillas I'm pretty sure. Authentic Mexican Food. I have lived in Mexico and the food here taste just like when I lived in Mexico. Homemade fresh and super delish. The place is clean even the bathrooms. They have a little bar area but I have yet to have a cocktail. I have ate here three times and the prices are great. Depending on what time you go you may have to wait awhile to order and get your food but its worth the wait. The staff doesn't speak great English but enough to get by. This is not a fancy place but a great little hidden Gem in Conway, SC They also have a food truck and from what I understand they can cater parties and events. This is my weekend pleasure. We decided to take a visit after ordering delivery in the past. My husband had the tacos and I had the shrimp chimichangas. The tacos were good, but they need to add another taco, because the soft shell isn't strong enough to hold. They burned my chimichangas and added some type of Veracruz red and white creamy sauce together. I've always had white cheesy sauce with my chimichangas. Although it wasn't bad, I couldn't get past the burned chimichangas. We both decided if we ever returned, we would only order their fried pork chops, unfortunately. First off I'm going to start this review off for people who just want a quick answer on why this is a 5 star review. This place is real authentic Mexican food at a great price. I woke up this afternoon with a hankering for some chorizo and eggs and this was where my iPhone led me. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was nice. It was actually close by and I probably have been driving by it for years because when I think Mexican restaurants I think of overpriced undercooked franchise restaurants. This place was not it. This place was different from any other Mexican restaurant I've ever visited in South Carolina. I walked in with an appetite for a popular breakfast item and was greeted by two young girls who proceeded to take my order in English. I may be American-Mexican but I don't speak any Spanish, but they were nice enough to take the time and explain to me what some of the menu items where. The young lady who took my order brought chips and salsa to my table along with my drink of choice and went over how hot the salsas where and looked at me as if I was crazy she smiled and left my table with an extremely hot and delicious salsa. Needless to say, I was sweating and I was a happy camper. It did not take very long for me to receive my food due to myself and a father and son being the only customers in there. The same young lady brought my food to my table and I was so excited I didn't even wait for it cool off. I have not had chorizo and eggs since I left my mother's house some 2 years ago. The food was fantastic and cooked well, it was very hot and very tasty. My only complaint was that I usually like to drink milk with this type of food and I did not see any on the menu. I have already said it before but I cannot wait to eat here again. I recommend this place to anyone looking for affordable delicious Mexican food. I dont know if it is the waitress or the cook, but they sure dont know how to read or write. Several times I ordered food to go, drive all the way home to find the wrong item. Call them, again, to tell them what happened and was told to eat something that I dont even like and didn't ordered. This place is super authentic and delicious. Me and my BF have been multiple times and we went twice this week alone. My favorite has to be the shrimp tostada which is insanely delicious and fresh. The seafood soup also looks incredible. My boyfriend swears by the beef head tacos and also the el pastor tacos. Another great option on the menu are their inexpensive lunch specials. The marinated pork burrito was so uniquely delicious and different compared to any American style burrito I've ever had, definitely a must try. The chorizo and eggs with rice and refried beans is also super yummy and the perfect hangover cure. The homemade chips and salsas they bring to the table make this place even more amazing. The last time we visited our waitress asked if we'd like to try another one of her salsas that was a bit spicer then the other two. We devoured EVERYTHING. The salsa is amazing and they give you a jalapeño salsa too which is really hot but really good! Great local, authentic Mexican food. Packed at lunch time with a variety of lunch specials. Served with homemade tortilla chips, salsa and salsa avocado verde. This green salsa is fantastic. Legit Mexican food! I didn't know you could get that here! I highly recommend the tortas. I seriously haven't had tortas like that since I was in Mexico. I also recommend the tacos al pastor and the chicken milanesa. Damn good. If you're a gringo going in for the first time, ask for the hot salsa.
