I came to Haberneros excited for my food, but my experience was ruined when a guy named "Michael" (pretty sure that was his name) grabbed my chips without asking and walked off like it was totally normal. I've ate at this restaurant for years. I have friends that live really close to there and usually the food is good. Last night I placed a pick up order and was not impressed. Not only is the pricing not updated but the food taste wasn't up to par. I ordered a chotiqueso dip and it wasn't closed good and subsequently most of it leaked in my bag and on my shrimp salad. The dip was mostly meat and grease with very little cheese to speak of. Needless to say I won't be spending $24 for a greasy dip that I could've lubed my car with. read more

The very comfortable feeling when you first walk in you are greeted with smiles and everyone seems happy eating their meal the booths are very comfortable some have leather seating and some have a brushed suede seating they're all so lots of tables this is a very large place and can accommodate quite a few people. There are many selections on the menu to choose from from meat, chicken, and seafood. All kinds of desserts and drinks. It was very hard to choose. I chose the seafood enchiladas and as you can see from the pictures it was smothered in this most decadent delicious cheese sauce. Not a big fan of Mexican food but had the pleasure of dining at Habaneros last night. My wife & I decided to share a Pineapple fajita & if it wasn't enough food for the two of us we'd order something else. Well it was more than enough food for the both of us. And it was delicious. Beef,chicken and shrimp in a luscious savory sauce with chunks of fresh pineapple. Came with a plate of refried beans,guacamole lettuce tomato and sour cream. Well worth the $15.95 price tag. The staff was extremely friendly. The food was great. They accommodated me by substituting the pork for steak. I was very surprised to see they didn't have a steak burrito on the menu. The mild sauce was definitely not what we are used to. It's more of warm (temperature) sauce they would pour over cooked food... so the kids weren't fans of that. But the hot sauce was not too hot & the cheese sauce was great (that made up for it). One reason to give them a 4 star instead of 5 was the seats were dirty when we were sat at our table. The service I received was rude and unprofessional. My server brought me food that contained steak when I asked for a veggie quesadilla since I am vegetarian from dietary reasons. I sent the food back and she only raked off the steak, still leaving big chunks of meat inside of my food, then proceeded to tell me that it was only veggies. I went back with my mother for a refund but there was no ambiance nor apology given to me. She even went further to raise her voice and try to give us back our refund by slamming the money and change on the counter. I do not recommend eating here, especially for those with an allergy or dietary issue as per her words that was said when confronted about the situation: "I don't care." The manager was no where to be found either and did not try to handle the situation that occurred with one of their servers. read more

Not bad at all, good enchiladas and rice and beans, all the basics are pretty good, compared to the gold standard we've had in So Cal near the border. I've picked up orders several times at the 707 location but they are not really friendly and don't recognize you after related orders but oh well. We were looking for an authentic Mexican place while we were in town and were suggested this place by a handful of people. Honestly, I thought this place was really great. The ONLY thing that really got me - which is kind of a big deal to me at Mexican places - was the guac. I think all Mexican places should have amazing, fresh made guacamole and this guacamole was so disappointing. It tasted like a paste that came out of a squeeze bottle. Like very bad. BUT the dish I split with my boyfriend was INCREDIBLE. I can't for the life of me remember what it was but just ask what their most popular dish is (refer to the picture I posted). It came in like a big black, hot cauldron type of thing and it was a mix of like fajta peppers, cheese, shrimp, beef , Etc etc. and the flavor was amazing. It was huge and we should have brought the leftovers home because my boyfriend and I couldn't stop thinking of it for the next few days. Our waiter, I think his name was hector?, was also so sweet. My husband and I have been going there for 6 years. We always order the Fajitas for two. When the waiter brought out our order we saw that the portion was less than half of what it normally was. The prices are the same though. We asked the waiter why the portion was so small. He left to go ask the Manager and came back and told us that the restaurant has reduced the portion. This was way beyond reducing the portion. We were charged for Fajitas for two, but was given Fajitas for one. The manager didn't even bother to come over to talk to us. They made it clear they weren't going to do anything to make the meal right. The service is HORRIBLE! Most of the staff sit around and never bother to ask you if the meal is good or if you need anything else. The Fajitas were barely warm and there was very little shrimp in the dish. There is also a bar in the restaurant and the bartender was giving beer to the waiters. He was also serving a woman that was very intoxicated. When she left she was stumbling out of the restaurant and was carrying an empty Tequila bottle. It was clear he didn't care that she was too drunk to drive. We have supported this restaurant during the pandemic. It has gotten so bad, we will NEVER go back. The owners clearly aren't interested in keeping loyal customers. read more

Went this evening for the 1st time and the last time. We ordered bean nachos. They had plenty of refried beans and this very watery yellow cheese. Very odd cheese, like milky water. I ordered the enchiladas. They give you 4. One bean, chicken, beef and cheese. They were covered in a red sauce, that had an odd taste to it. Also, had a big pile of shredded lettuce thrown on the top. Rice and beans were an extra charge of $3.75. The rice is very dry and the beans were the same as on the nachos. My husband ordered a combination of chicken taco and beef burrito. Chicken in taco was flavorless and beef in burrito was very salty. Waitress seemed nice. Really wanted to like it, but didn't, sorry to say. read more

My mother suggested this venue for dinner based off of her impression of the Pawley's island location, she had never been. Not a terrible choice, but just not worth the drive in my opinion. It's a little off of the beach drag to get too and I just was not feeling it. First impressions, it's in a strip mall, when you walk in it seemed to have a smell to it, but couldn't place it. It did not come across as particularly clean to me. Lost in translation during the ordering - to me this is a good problem, if the person working and I have to work at our communication to get the order placed, instead of being annoyed by this, I view it as a good sign. But usually that is also accompanied by the fact that the other customers consist of a lot of spanish folks as well. That was not the case at this venue. But the real party fowls are - The guac - not fresh, not table side, not even chunky but smooth like a green pudding (eeww). It did not taste terrible, but it did not taste great either. The margaritas - we had a large party so we decided to get a pitcher. I saw some Yelp reviews that said the margaritas were good. If this is good, then your base of comparison is sub par. They had an advertisement for a tequila on the wall that I did not even recognize the brand. Not good considering that I am familiar with a lot of tequila brands. My guess, it's a bottom shelf grain blend option with artificial coloring. Perhaps I ordered the wrong thing but buyer beware, save your $20. The food - my wife and I shared a seafood type of burrito that was not bad, but not great. They get points for having what appeared to be actual crab meat included in it instead of some fake stuff. It also seemed that the food came out extremely fast, maybe just me? I have experienced this before in some mexican restaurants, like they nuked it in the back and brought it out. Mostly Don Pablos in the past that I recall. Not sure this is the case but kind of makes you wonder. A pet peeve - venues that turn on the cable tv and just let whatever is on play. There is a reason I dumped cable and this is one of them. Nothing like having inappropriate television playing while dining. The definition of the word appropriate is just too vague for everyone to agree on so why bother? If I had to do over again I would have dined elsewhere, there just wasn't enough there at this venue to warrant a return. read more

I don't know how they get so much extra deliciousness in their food, but it is really excellent.
