My favourite matcha spot! This location is a bit more on the smaller side, and doesn't have the best ventilation. We came on a rainy day and it was VERY humid inside, which really didn't bode well for the ice cream. But their menu still tastes great! I'm so happy I can find Tsujiri across the GTA because their matcha is some of the best you can find! Admittedly, it's pretty pricey for what it is, but it's hard finding matcha powder like this without breaking the bank. read more

I love matcha so Ofcourse I had to hit up tsujiri since they are known for their matcha icecream. I got one of the matcha sundaes that came with Mochi bits and red bean. The ice cream itself was great, very strong matcha flavour and the texture was very smooth. I wasn't a big fan of the red bean at the bottom as they drowned it in syrup. If you are a fan of matcha ice cream I would recommend just getting a cone. The sundae didn't have much ice cream. The bottom was all ice and red bean. read more

If you like matcha, you will definitely like the desserts presented at Tsujiri. All their menu items have matcha in them! This location is relatively small, so it was relatively cramped waiting in line. As well, there were no indoor dining at this time. They have a small selection of desserts that you can order, such as sundaes with various of toppings. However, if you want a "custom-made mix and match type of dessert place", this might not be it. I just got a soft serve matcha icecream (it was not in the menu for some reason, but you can get it) and my friend got the matcha sundae. Honestly, the matcha is the real deal here. Not overly sweet and actually tastes like matcha. Just a warning, the price is a bit on the expensive side. Overall, definitely a must try if you love matcha and sweets. read more

On cold winter nights, I look to a nice hot beverage to warm me up. At around 6:25 pm, this place was buzzing! From my quick glance, I could only see a table for two free (but I just wanted to grab-and-go). I approached the counter and the employee smiled at me. I didn't see what I wanted on the menu, so I inquired about it and the staff member told me they had it. I ordered their O-MATCHA BLACK SESAME LATTE after seeing it on Yelp. I really wish you could smell the aroma from this picture but it was absolutely divine. Made unsweetened, the authentic flavors of the matcha and black sesame really came through. This is why I love Tsujiri, you know you're getting the real stuff and you get to watch them whisk it before you eyes as well. The black cups also give the product an elevated look. The shop is small but visually clean. I love the simplistic aesthetic of the place as well. read more

I have went here several times whenever I'm close to the Eaton Centre. It is a small place; more suitable for takeout but there are a couple seats available. The matcha flavour is strong and unique, which I love! My favorite is the matcha soft serve either in a cup or cone. They also have matcha hot and cold lattes as well. Service is polite and efficient. Great place to grab a snack or dessert in the area! read more

I stopped by with my friends after dinner and wasn't going to order anything for myself until I saw their sign offering a seasonal soft serve flavour: kinako. Kinako is soy bean powder which is usually sprinkled al over the top of injeolmi which is the Korean version of shaved ice. I love the light flavour of it so I had to try it. (Especially when it's seasonal too!) The soft serve is everything I imagined it to be. Lightly flavoured and creamy! If I remember correctly, it was approximately $6.50 served in a waffle cone. It's a little on the pricy end but it's not everyday you come across kinako softserve. I'd love to go back for another one! read more

A great place to have ice cream! Sure, it's small but kind of cozy. I would not recommend bringing a large group of friends unless you can score the back table or don't mind hanging out outside... Later at night, there is a lot less variety because they run out and don't have time to make more or don't want to over cook and under sell. The ice cream is great like all other locations, but there is no vanilla offered at this location... But it has Hojicha instead, which none of the other locations have. I cannot say enough good things about this place and the lady who served us. We had the pudding and their most famous cheesecake. Sharing a slice of cheesecake between my husband and me just wasn't enough. Cannot wait to try more things here like their soft serve looks amazing. This is a great dessert place for those who prefer a less sweet version of dessert. It is still sweet, but noticeably less sweet than the typical dessert you would buy. I got the matcha and hojicha mix. The ice cream was really good. Matcha wasn't very sweet, and hojicha had a nice roasted taste. The toppings were also a nice add on, though the rice ball and cracker had no taste. read more

I am so in love with Tsujiri as matcha is one of my favourite product. Been liking this place since it first opened despite the long line ups. Though the line ups are now shorter, it can still be a good 15 to 20 mins wait when super busy. It can get very chaotic when trying to line up to purchase something in the tight narrow space and there can be quite a confusion as which line is to line up for purchases and which line is to pick up the products. Very limited available on their matcha products. I am never able to buy or try the opera cakes nor their matcha combo as it always sell out early on and being this is in downtown , I Never get to the store early enough. The matcha ice cream flavour is very strong so suggest to ask for a sample to taste test it first, especially if you aren't sure if the matcha may be bitter. I wish they could expand the store to offer more tables and seatings as there is a need for seats and tables for people to enjoy the matcha drinks or desserts. I saw that there are more locations coming soon, especially in Markham and I can't wait it opens there :) read more

I used to visit Tsujiri a lot to get the matcha and hojicha drinks and parfaits. It's been a few years since I visited this location and I was glad it was still open during COVID. I got the Hojicha parfait that had the shiratama (mochi), red bean, and chestnut. There was also some matcha and hojicha jelly at the bottom of the soft serve. It was as good as I remember it and there really aren't that many places that make a good Hojicha soft serve. read more

I've been to Tsujiri a handful of times now and it never disappoints. Their matcha soft serve has a strong and distinct flavour. It's more bitter than it is sweet but I think it pairs well with other ingredients that are in the sundaes. There is minimal seating in the shop; consider yourself lucky if you can grab a seat. The servers are always sweet and friendly. There's barely been a line up the past two times I went, but that could just be because it's winter. Like everyone else, I do think that it's a bit pricey, but it's acceptable for me since I only come here a couple of times a year. My favourite is the Chiffon Sundae ($7.50) which is layered with corn flakes, topped with a chiffon cake + red bean. I personally hate red bean and really don't understand why it's always paired with matcha. I just try to avoid it by eating around it. I love that they layer this dessert with cornflakes. It gives it a nice, crunchy texture. Sometimes this isn't available because they sell out of the chiffon cake. In which case, I will either order another sundae or a plain soft serve (which is huge, btw!) read more

This place is really nice! A little hidden gem in the Chinatown area of downtown Toronto. They specialize in Matcha based treats. On the first day, I got a Match latte, and was wonderful! They use real matcha for their drinks! They make it unsweetened on request, like a traditional Matcha tea. The drink was very good and reminded me of one I got in Tokyo. The second time here, I got the matcha ice cream. It was creamy and delicious! The flavor wasn't subtle, I could actually taste the matcha. It was Canadian milk soft serve, and it was great! I highly recommend this location! They have wonderful treats without being overly sweet! Great for any Matcha lover, or anyone wanting to give Matcha a chance. Pretty strong matcha! $6.50 is steep for just a matcha soft serve, no extra charge for the waffle cone though. I wouldn't recommend their sundaes (the toppings look nice but only taste 'meh'). After coming here a few times during peak afternoon hours, I didn't like the crowded and hectic environment. However, we came on a Monday rainy day at 8pm and there was no line-up and the small space wasn't cramped for once! The wooden floor sitting area was also available for us to enjoy our desserts in. I was really excited for this place but they didn't have any of the desserts when I went there - only ice cream. I had no idea my ice cream would have red beans in them, if I'd known, I'd go for the original one with just matcha ice cream. The ice cream itself was beyond my expectations- it had authentic matcha taste and I loved the mochi in it. It was beautifully presented and the serving was very filling. I loved the place overall and I recommend it to anyone who's been looking for a dessert place that specializes on matcha. I will definitely be returning here:) read more

By now, I'm sure it's painfully obvious I'm holding a torch for my time in Japan and try at every end of my life to find places that will bring me back or at least give me a taste of it. So, when I found out about "authentic" Japanese soft serve in Toronto, you guessed it, it went on the list. I rave about the soft serve in Japan. All my friends know it. BF knows it. He thinks I'm biased because I dream about Japan so much - but all my other friends who have been agree with me. It's different! It's much, much softer and creamier there. But anyways, I digress. We came in here after dinner and ordered matcha soft serve in a cup. I got some mocha and a chiffon cake on top of it. Service was nice and friendly. We managed to snag one of the high-tops and were able to eat inside and not stand in the cold outside. The verdict: It was good, but it was definitely not the same. It did not have the same smooth and creamy texture that I had expected. The matcha flavor was also super strong, which was a turnoff. Mochi was A+. If I could sit here and eat a cup of those, I would. All in all, it was a nice treat, but don't make it a point to come here if you're strapped for time. read more

If you're looking for anything matcha, THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO. The store itself is small and only has three high top tables (that seat two) and one sit down table (that seats four), so you need to get a little lucky when visiting. We were lucky enough to grab a table, but we saw a lot of people leaving because the tables were full. We ordered a parfait and matcha latte and it took about five minutes for the order. Both were EXCELLENT! The matcha latte was very smooth and matcha-y, not too sweet at all. The parfait came with red beans and mochi balls, and the matcha ice cream was VERY RICH. Loved them both! Definitely recommend this place if you ever need a macha fix. We'll be coming back for the other drinks and desserts for sure! read more

I couldn't be more disappointed with this cold matcha & citrus drink. I asked for no ice but ended up getting a 2/5 filled drink. The service staff made it crystal clear that they would not be able to fill the rest of the cup when requested no ice. I could not believe that I'm paying $7 for a drink like this! The good: I will give this a 3.5 stars. I always get their houjicha soft serve ice cream and the tea flavor is very pleasant. You can definitely taste the flavor of the tea and the soft serve version makes it very enjoyable, whereas, I tried the houjicha tea from a friend and it was extremely strong. I recommend getting the ice cream for a nice balance. The bad: It is a very small place and it may be hard to get a seat. I gladly walked into the dessert shop on a very hot day. I've also never tried Tsujiri but have heard a lot about it. I ordered the Matcha Shiratama Parfait and the Matcha Tsujiri Soft Cream. They both have the actual soft serve matcha ice cream. The parfait had some red bean in it and mochi balls. I found that the ice cream is not extremely sweet which is quite nice, however, there is a slight bitter after taste due to the matcha in the ice cream. I really enjoyed matcha flavour so I loved the taste. The red bean adds the element of sweetness and the mochi is just fun to chew. The soft serve is just the ice cream but served in a cone. Yay Tsujiri! Whenever I'm downtown it's one of my go-to ice cream spots. Just around the corner from the Eaton Centre is Tsujiri, an awesome matcha experience. The store is small, but contemporary. There are a few seats, but they are usually taken. Depending on the time of day you go, you might have to wait. However, the wait time is quite short now as the staff are very efficient. I always get the sundaes. I feel like this is one of the best matcha ice cream places in the GTA, and I'm so glad there are more locations opening up around the city. The ice cream is more icy than creamy I would say, but it's very refreshing. I love the sundaes because they add a unique twist on the ice cream (i.e. Flower pressed cookie, chiffon cake, red bean, mochi ball etc). The taste is great!! Tsujiri is one of the best and most unique ice cream places in all of Toronto. Known predominantly for their matcha-flavored desserts, Tsujiri is developed a reputation as the go-to dessert place for good matcha. Tsujiri is a modern restaurant on Dundas between University and Bay Street, not too far from St. Patrick Station. From the outside, it looks like most of the other places on the strip and doesn't stand out too much. The inside looks similar to many of the newer Asian dessert places that have popped up. Sleek, modern, and lots of wood. Where Tsujiri stands out most is their ice cream and desserts. There are several places that serve matcha desserts in Toronto at this point, but a lot are unfortunately not that good. The biggest issue with most is that the matcha is sweetened to the point where it doesn't taste like matcha. Matcha, when sweetened appropriate will taste rich and slightly bitter. It's a flavor that is enhanced by a BIT of sugar, but can be easily overwhelmed by too much of it. Tsujiri has matcha desserts that taste perfect. First up is the ice cream. As mentioned, it tastes exactly as it should. Rich, slightly sweet, and slightly bitter. Absolutely perfect. It's not too strong, like some people have suggested. It just tastes like natural matcha. Next we had a matcha cream puff. Wow! Again, not too sweet and perfectly balanced between bitter, sweet, and rich. Matcha isn't for everyone, but if you're a true matcha fan, Tsujiri is the place to be! 5/5 read more

Living in Markham sometimes sucks. Seems like all the must trys are always downtown or midtown and so, you need to make a day trip down there to explore and to save yourself the hassle of driving downtown and paying for parking. Naturally, coming down here, I had to try the matcha green tea places in the city. This place was always on my to go to list and unfortunately, it wasn't living up to the hype. It's almost a hole in the wall where you have very limited seating and space. I can see this place getting packed and having a line up out the door. It's not that this place is horrible or bad. The quality of the matcha here is average to be fair and I was honestly hoping for something stronger. Although, you can taste the bitterness at the end and I love that. The cone was a nice added touch, it wasn't sweet but went very well with the ice cream in terms of texture and taste. It's one of the better places I would say but I have also had better matcha green tea, unfortunately just not in Toronto. Great place for all green tea matcha lovers! Lots of varieties of ice creams, sundaes, slushes, and etc. There's a line to order and a line to wait for items. Small space inside, 3 small bar tables and 1 tatami style sitting area. I ordered the plain matcha soft serve ice cream in a cup and that set me back $4.50 CAN, which I thought was expensive given the small amount. I tried a few sips of the citron icy and I wish I ordered that instead. The citron icy was smooth and slightly creamy, so refreshing on a hot day, which it was last Saturday when I visited. Service was ok. The staff members seem to be doing the best they can given the volume of customers. Overall, I had an "ok" experience, but probably wouldn't try them again. read more

The first time I went was during opening week. Huge line up and to make the wait worthwhile, I ordered 3 desserts and 3 drinks for 2 people. The drinks were very sweet and the desserts (which all had soft serve) were mediocre. Not much matcha flavour but very smooth. Honestly, not worth the ridiculous line ups. Never planned on going back but it's close to where my colleagues and I have usually have dinner so we'd stop by and get dessert. At first I just went along with the consensus but now I don't mind at all. They offer houjicha here and it's much better than everything else they have. So if you're interested in trying Tsujiri, visit this location since I'm pretty sure this is the only one that offers houjicha (I asked the employee at the North York location and she doesn't believe there are any plans in place for them serve houjicha there). Admittedly, I love matcha-flavoured anything, so my review may be a little biased. But truthfully, the matcha soft serve here is the best I've had in Canada, and takes me back to the days of travelling in Japan. I've had the Matcha soft serve from Uncle Tetsu's Matcha Cafe, and this was far superior. The ice cream is smooth and creamy, rich with matcha flavours. The only downside is the high price tag. For a small single portion ice cream sundae with mochi balls, we paid a hefty $8 + tax. The store is pretty small and I imagine the lines will be quite long in the summer. Arrived here around 6pm on a Thursday. Tsujiri is located right on Dundas West with a big store front. The store is brand new and looks fresh with a few seats on the side and a booth at the back. I wouldn't come here expecting to find seating. There was a short line so we probably waited 20 mins to get our ice cream. A large part of our wait was a new staff was being trained. Not to blame the new employee but this dragged out each order by a long shot as I watched the server being confused with every order asking another employee what to put in each one. We ordered a sundae with mochi balls and a scoop of red bean paste. We wanted some of the best picks but they were all sold out, pretty disappointed. The matcha ice cream itself was excellent, with tons of flavour. However at $8 with tax, I was pretty disappointed with the portions. They also only took cash (apparently they haven't set up their payments systems yet) and we didn't know until we ordered so we had actually had to scale back our order because we didn't have enough on us. I probably wouldn't come back, but if you're looking for some tasty Matcha ice cream, I'd still suggest trying. read more

Very small place with limited seating and the lines tend to be long. The day I went was not too packed, and only had to wait about 10 minutes to place my order and receive it. My family and I went so we ordered 2 Tsujiri Sundaes ($7.50), 1 Tsujiri Shaved Ice ($8.00), and 3 O-Matcha Cookie Puffs ($3.00), which is essentially a matcha cream puff with a crust on top. We originally wanted swirled vanilla and matcha soft serve and their FAMOUS Uji Matcha Double Fromage Cheesecake, but they had ran out. I would give this place a 5, but the staff's attitude wasn't exactly very pleasing. Instead of placing 2 Matcha Tsujiri Sundaes like we asked for, they placed 2 regular matcha soft serves in a cup instead. When we told them we ordered the sundaes, they got really annoyed and made faces at us. Their tone of voice wasn't really nice either when they "apologized" and gave us the right order. However, overall, the food was good. The cookie puffs were definitely not worth the $3.00 because it's basically a crunchy cream puff with simple whipped cream with very little matcha cream inside. The sundaes were really good though. Beware of very bitter green tea flavors in the soft serve, but that's true matcha for you. The sakura cookie was AMAZING. There's also so many components in this sundae including genmai (roasted brown rice), red bean, and toppings like chestnut, shiratama mochi, kuromitsu (black honey), and the sakura cookie. The shaved ice was rather large as it was matcha flavored ice topped with soft serve (flavor of your choice), red bean, chestnut, shiratama mochi, and kuromitsu. All in all, I recommend this place, and especially the Tsujiri sundae. read more

I have gone there twice and love the matcha soft serve, shaved ice, Houjicha float and Shiratama (Mochi). I have to say it's the best matcha desserts shop in town so far. The matcha flavour is rich and smooth. Shiratama is very yummy and hard to find good one in Toronto. I am glad finally can get good one there.
