We were looking for a restaurant for date night and came across TSK online. After seeing positive reviews, we decided to give it a try. We started with the Caesar salad which was pretty good. We also ordered the bread and butter which was underwhelming for something so simple. For our main course, we had the bone-in ribeye steak. Unfortunately, the steak was chewy which was disappointing, especially for the price. The brown butter sauce was delicious and definitely helped. The restaurant itself is very cute inside. We were hoping to get seats at the bar so we could watch the chefs in action, but even though we ended up at a table, the atmosphere was still enjoyable.

29 ounce Mission Cut Ribeye Steak served with horseradish sauce and mashed potatoes in the background. Steak medium rare.

Ribeye is considered the best cut for a steak and TSK does it right. Recently dined to celebrate a friends birthday and enjoyed a wonder meal again. When craving steak this is one of the best places on the island. Though the menu limited they serve it up right. Ordered the mission cut which is ordered by the ounce and usually serves at least two people. They usually have about 3 weights available. We ordered the 29 ounce cut and was perfect for two. For starters we had the Caesar salad which we shared and is one of my favorites. Ordered the steak medium rare it was cooked to perfection. Very flavorful and tasty and each bite just melted in your mouth. The finishing salts really brought out the flavors. It's accompanied with a sauce of your choice which we chose the horseradish sauce as well as roasted shallots and garlic. We also the mashed potatoes as a side and comfortably served two people and was delicious. Dessert we ordered the chocolate pot a crème which was a silky chocolate mousse. Excellent. The service was amazing and we like to reserve the bar seating as we enjoy watching the chefs in action.

We were excited to finally try TSK, as longtime Newport residents who are willing to try somewhere new. Unfortunately, our experience at the Chef's Table was overshadowed by an interaction with our waitress that was, quite frankly, unpleasant. Before we were even properly greeted, we were immediately told that we would not be able to share any of the steaks because they were simply too small. We had not asked whether we could share a steak, which made the comment feel especially unnecessary and strange right from the beginning. She then proceeded to talk us into the very large and expensive ribeye, explaining that it would make more sense for the two of us to order that. We followed her recommendation and ordered the ribeye, which was over $100. The entire interaction felt uncomfortable and unnecessarily pushy, rather than warm or hospitable. The food itself was very good, and I want to be fair about that. We started with the Caesar salad and bone marrow, both of which we enjoyed, and the ribeye was also very good. We unfortunately didn't order any sides because we assumed we would have more than enough food with the ribeye we had been encouraged to order... although the ribeye was mostly bone and fat, the parts we had were very good. Unfortunately, the service changed the tone of the evening for us. Our waitress was not pleasant to us and simply did not make us feel welcome. Continuously took other orders ahead of ours while we waited quietly and respectfully even when we were waiting much longer. We kept big smiles and tried to enjoy our night regardless. It was an odd interaction from start to finish, and we left feeling more uncomfortable than we should have after what was supposed to be a nice dinner.

I was a little leery of TSK Thames Street Kitchen because of a few things we kept seeing creep up in reviews: the noise and comments about tastes. Our experience completely redeemed the place on those concerns: every bite of food we had was _delicious_ and prepared in a masterly way. And the noise . . . well, it just wasn't even remarkable. It's a popular place, sure, but it's not a madhouse or anything. (I can think of two other nearby places that were a LOT louder than TSK on the nights we visited them.) Okay, but the service - friendly and . . . seemingly caring . . . but - I don't know, not always on top of things? Some things were instantly noted and addressed, others - well, there were big gaps of time between check-ins . . . and it wasn't an especially busy time. Also a couple reasonably major life events that had been noted when making the reservation were not even remarked upon: it was just sort of, "Here's your supper!" We'd certainly go back - the folks in the kitchen are fantastic and I want more of what they make - heck, I'd go back today. The folks out front . . . well, it wasn't an "A-Team" experience, although it wasn't unpleasant or anything.

We had a wonderful time here and was so impressed with the food, cocktails and staff. We enjoyed the bone marrow app, Caesar & wedge salads, filet & NY Strip & the Sticky Toffee Pudding. Summer, our server, did a terrific job and was very attentive & provided great suggestions. I forgot my leftover bag and a member of the staff went outside in the cold to track me down. Very impressive place in all ways!!

Filet mignon with bearnaise butter

My favorite dining experience in Newport. Amazing steaks (tried filet and hangar) and sides (fingerling mashed potatoes and glazed carrots special). The tomato and burrata special appetizer was one of the few times in my life that I loved the taste of a tomato. Notes: the sides are pretty large...we had 2 for 2 people and had leftovers. The bearnaise butter is literally butter with bearnaise flavor. I'd have preferred a traditional bearnaise sauce but this was still pretty good.

This was our first time at TSK and WOW! What a great spot! Unlike many Newport dining stops, TSK is casual and comfortable. Their menu is short but done so well. Their staff was attentive and friendly, even chatting back to us with questions about how they were cooking the steak (we opted for the bar seat dining option). Would highly recommend for a cozy steak meal! We can't wait to come back!

Came here with a reservation in a Thursday night and this place does not disappoint! we loved having a seat at the bar and watching the open kitchen work. the food was delicious and service was excellent and super fast. we got the mission cut steak (31 ounces) with the bonito brown butter and it was so unique and tasted amazing. the apps were good - we definitely liked the bone marrow and escargot! our one piece of advice would be to make an earlier reservation because they only have a set quantity of the mission cut steak and set sizes, we originally wanted a smaller amount but 31 ounces was the smallest steak they had left. would definitely recommend this place to everyone visiting newport!

New York strip, bone marrow, and artichoke

The chicken and the steak is amazing!! Also get the sticky toffee pudding. We came twice in the same week because of how good it was! Make a reservation because it gets packed pretty quick

Their Sparking Water was great and added some lemon

YOU NEED RESERVATIONS TO COME HERE! Do NOT GET UPSET AND LEAVE BAD REVIEWS BC THEY TURN YOU AWAY OR OFFER YOU UNFAVORABLE SEATING/TIMES. We booked weeks out as we are coming from Long Island AND NEVER DISAPPOINTED! Please use common sense and NOT complain noise as well since it's an OPEN KITCHEN AND VERY BUSY RESTAURANT. People are going to talk and have a good time...deal with it! Last time we got the hanger steak this time we got the strip! My wife couldn't finish her meal and I struggled to finish it for her As usual we padded our bill with $15 plus delish cock tails! Our server was amazing! When you order steak you get one choice of dip for the steak! It is actually enough for two people so each person should pick a different one bc sharing is caring! We got the Bearnice Butter and black garlic BBQ. We did the black garlic BBQ in the past so we knew it was good. Bearnice sauce was amazing and we both dipped into that with every bite. We didn't even touch the Black Garlic BBQ We got their mash potatoes which is to die for as well as their broccolini with tahini, almond and bacon. You couldn't even taste the tahini which is good bc my wife doesn't do spicy! WE WILL BE BACK!

Filet, side of carrots and side of potato latkes

Food was tasty, staff was very accommodating to my food allergies and everyone was very friendly. You could tell that all their produce and meats are very fresh. Small restaurant with a unique ambience. Parking is difficult so make sure to arrive early to find parking. The restaurant also gets busy fast so a reservation is recommended

Glazed carrots... delicious

Newport has many great restaurants, but this is the best food in town by far. It is pricey, but well worth every penny. Have been here a couple of times. Sat on the patio outdoors the first time and dined indoors on return visits. Bread appetizer is delicious and cocktails are great too. Steaks are cooked to perfection and extremely flavorful. Have had filet mignon as well as NY strip. Definitely get the brown butter Benito sauce. It is probably the best sauce I have ever tasted. For sides I have had potato latkes, roasted shishitos, and glazed carrots. All were top notch. Great service and vibe here as well. Can't think of a single negative thing to say about this place.

Bit shocked by the noise level when we first entered Wednesday night but decided to stay since they had such great reviews on Yelp. Glad we did as every course was a hit...plus wine selection was above average quality. Five stars for service and food. Maybe someday down the line something can be done to lower the noise level....had to yell thru dinner to my husband to be heard. Next time going in warmer weather and sitting outside may help. Loud enough to remove a star...

Very crowded and you really feel rushed... like a soup kitchen atmosphere...for the high prices I think it is a bit greedy of them!

Service was attentive, the restaurant is super spacious, and the food was delicious. We started with a couple cocktails which were decent but I would suggest a bottle of wine instead to better suit their menu. The Crispy Calamari was so satisfying. It was crispy, not chewy at all, and the peppers and lemon added a bright zestiness to each bite. The Lobster Bisque was also the best I've ever had. It was soothing, buttery, and loaded with lobster! Since we were sharing, they pre-split the portion for us which was a thoughtful touch. We got the Bone In Delmonica 18oz which comes with one accompanying sauce. We got the truffle butter and I wish they'd give at least 2 because the horseradish crema and chimichurri also caught my eye. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium. It was charred on the outside, juicy on the inside, and went well with the sides. Speaking of sides, the Truffle Mac & Cheese is a huge portion for ~$16! Not to mention, it's so creamy, cheesy, and earthy from the truffle. I loved it! The 22B Mashed Potatoes were delicately smooth and paired well with the steak. We ended with the Old Fashioned Carrot Cake which was moist, had good texture, and a delicious cream cheese frosting. I appreciate the fact that it was complimentary; getting a free birthday dessert has become a lost art but not at 22 Bowen's! Highly recommend making a reservation for a special occasion or just a memorable dinner!
