Honestly if you're wanting a tea or a drink this place is great for that...but that's about it. I've been a number of times and really have had decent experiences and again would recommend the Nile's location for to-go drinks only. Everything else is sub par...the dan dan noodles may have been the worst I ever had. The noodles were over cooked and stuck together, there was hardly any toppings and it was not at all as it was described. We also got the "Chinese burger" honestly this was also not something I would ever get again. The "bun" situation was dry and had no flavor...also the pork had no flavor and was also dry...I can see why the girl behind was questioning if it was even on the menu still because clearly no one is ordering it and when a customer does they're surprised. Now what really put me off (aside from the surprise piece of aluminum foil found in our food) was the horrible customer service. While waiting for our drinks and food to come out all I hear is one of the employees behind the counter commenting on multiple items on our order. Is it really that hard to make a drink and add extra ice without questioning why you need to add extra ice if that's the special request? It's requested because maybe we like our drinks to not be luke warm and prefer them cold. Then to make comments and being surprised an item was ordered ("chinese" burger). It was on the menu it sounded interesting we wanted to try it...after hearing the reaction it honestly made me second guess placing the order. Then to top it off when the drinks were ready our name was called...I asked if the food would be coming later and the attitude I received back being told that it takes longer threw me off completely. Yes I asked if the food would be coming later but I was asking to ensure that they knew we also had a food order. The attitude implying that I didn't understand that it'll take a bit long was not necessary. Needless to say if we ever come back our orders will be ONLY for drinks, we will NOT be ordering food and I will hope to not have much of any interaction with the staff at this location. It will strictly be pick up & go. Hopefully your team takes some time to work on their customer service skills cause it's lacking. read more

I went here for boba with a friend. She appreciated how there were a variety of non-caffeinated flavor combinations. I opted for the matcha dalgona with boba. It was delectably foamy and sweet. My only regret was that it was this particular flavor combination didn't come with an option for a larger size. It really hit the spot for a cold, foamy beverage with perfectly chewy boba. I also tried out their house special braised beef noodles. They were great, but I wish there were more vegetables and noodles. (This was just personal preference.) The beef was well braised, seasoned, and excellent. Patrons order from kiosks and pick up items from the front desk. It would have been nice to interact more with staff, but the system is definitely set up for efficiency. Parking is a shared plaza private lot with plenty of spots during the weekdays. Weekends can be hectic given the amount of businesses here. Worth a visit for sure! read more

I was thoroughly impressed by the variety of flavors that is available at Tsaocca. I am quite picky with my boba, but I was super excited to try Tsaocca out! I ordered the mango mochi with whipped cream to go. They served me my drink without a lid? I was so confused and asked for a lid. I genuinely believed that they probably forgot that my drink was ordered "to go"... However, the worker passive aggressively told me that if I wanted her to put a lid on it, then she would have to "scoop ALL" of the whipped cream off... I'm not sure how she expected me to travel with my drink without a lid when I ordered it to go... I had to ask her if I could get a lid anyway... I guess they don't have dome lids? Lol Anyway... The drink was delicious. The only critique I have is that I wish they blended their ice better. There were random large clumps of ice throughout the drink. I really enjoyed the drink but my encounter was a little off-putting. read more

Though this spot serves up a wide variety of teas, waffles, desserts, and more -- my biggest reason to visit this spot is their selection of delicious savory entrees. This is all served up in a cute spot with fun decor, though it can get quite busy at times so it's probably not the best spot for a long hangout with friends during peak hours (though their menu is probably the most diverse of any restaurant in this shopping center). Service is not super slow given how busy they are, but don't expect to be in an out super fast if you're not ordering ahead. Prices are quite competitive for this area, especially considering the fairly generous portion sizes. Though Tsaocaa has quite a bit of delicious Korean entree options, I was actually looking more specifically towards Taiwanese, Hong Kong, and Japanese food. Based on the quality ingredients used in their drinks, I had faith in their food being equally impressive and it delivered. In particular, the braised beef rice bowl has nice and tender meat with a flavorful sauce and fresh veggies. The rice is quite fluffy and the sauce is balanced quite well with just the rice amount of spices. The crispy pork cutlet is also fried very well, with tender meat and a deliciously sweet yet tangy sauce that will delight any fan of Tontaksu. Overall, worth a visit if you are anywhere in the area. There's several spots around Chicagoland so you can visit any of them if you are looking for high quality food and drink with real ingredients (versus syrups and powders) at a reasonable price. read more

Here for the dogs! It was super busy and there was a line to order at the kiosk. We sat at the first available table and ordered through our phones. The website to order is a bit frustrating but our order did come out pretty quick. The dogs were delicious. They have good sauces too. The coconut latte was good but could6 used more coffee. read more

I had the perfect Mango bingsoo treat here after a lovely Thai dinner close by. Mangos were ripe, sweet and juicy. The roasted coconut flakes toppings and corn flakes on the bottom were just chef's kiss. The side sauces, sweetened coconut cream and mango puree, were a neat addition to elevate the shaved ice further. It is large enough to share between 2 people. Service is a bit slow, but it's very busy so it's understandable. Decor is minimalist. There should be more tables and the staff should wipe down the tables after each use. read more

My husband surprised me by bringing home food from Tsaocaa and what a great surprise it was. He brought me the braised beef rice and crispy pork cutlet rice with house-made sauce. The braised beef was flavorful, the crispy pork cutlet was crunchy, and the vegetables were fresh. Overall, this was a great meal. I can wait to go to Tsaocaa and have their food fresh. read more

Came here for the first time on a random Saturday early evening to grab some snacks and as soon as I walked in and started looking at the menu on the self service portal, where you have to put your order in realize you were going to have more than just snacks. We actually got three drinks, although only one is pictured. The lychee green tea. We also got the coconut cream and the Taro milk bubble tea. We got the red bean waffle and the mango bingsoo and the Taiwanese popcorn chicken In total of three drinks and three food items came out to $65 which is pretty hefty actually however I will say that the portion of chicken and the Bing soup was actually very generous This is located in a strip mall, but also part of the bigger mall area near H Mart so there's lots of parking There aren't many tables indoor and they really should be especially during this heat wave. They had at least four or five people behind the counter, working busy, making drinks and food. They were also quite a bit of orders being picked up that were probably done online as well. I realize this is a chain, however I will say I will definitely come back here. Try more of the drinks. This is a staple now for me for Taiwanese popcorn, chicken, and the Bingsoo! read more

Variety of drinks including tea, milk, mojito, yogurt based ones here. I like the uniqueness of the (non alcoholic) mojitos. On my last visit, I tried the lychee mojito, and it was very refreshing, slightly bubbly, and sufficiently minty and lychee-y. The boba cups are branded and can be washed and reused. Also, I noticed it's about 20 Oz of bubble tea vs 16 at other places, at about the same price point. I brought my 2 mini me's here on a spring break afternoon, and they each picked a drink, the cookie butter milk and a mango yogurt drink. As I was getting ready to snap a picture of them in front of the neon signage, my youngest dropped her drink, cracking the cup and making a huge spill around a caution wet floor sign that was ironically already standing by. A very gracious and friendly employee double checked what the drink order has been and kindly remade the drink for her. Last note is that you place your order on one of two touch pads by the entrance. Snacks like coated hot dog sticks and bubble waffles in various flavors (matcha, red velvet) also available! Thank you! We'll be back. read more

Really solid bubble tea spot in the area! Matcha Tornado is my favorite and hits the spot every single time. I get it with 0% sugar and it's still perfectly "sweet". I'm not exactly sure what else is inside besides the salted cold foam but everything gets blended and it turns into a divine treat. We've been frequenting Home Depot just as much so now we can't visit one without the other lol. My husband's favorites are the Mango Green Tea and Brown Sugar Milk Tea wOreo that are also 0% sugar. The chopped mangoes and lime in the green tea are a refreshing touch. It's not at all syrupy. The milk tea with a hint of brown sugar gives it that cookie taste. Can't go wrong with either one and we never feel guilty after finishing a drink. The staff is also really helpful is finding a drink fit for you when you want to try something new. Although the food menu doesn't fit my lifestyle, they do offer corn dogs and some Korean street food variety. And a random assortment of stuffed animals/toys. Don't just take my word for it, go enjoy a drink for yourself! read more

I'm obsessed with Boba and I'm so excited that a Tsaocaa opened up in the burbs! The bubble tea here was delicious! I ordered the avocado and coconut slush and some dishes to try. Food: the signature popcorn chicken was delicious. I would definitely recommend it. It's crispy and crunchy and includes sticks to help you share it! The fries were okay and I also tried a brown sugar pastry which was okay. The service was really nice. Shoutout to the two awesome girls at the front. I left before my whole order was ready (I thought it was) and they went out of their way to call (using the rewards phone number) to let me know about my food. This place legit came in clutch when I was craving a bubble tea last weekend after a long day of walking around the Forest Preserve and grocery shopping. I personally love going to Tsaocaa despite what my friends say about their bubble tea is more on the watered down side. I think this place always hits the spot and can always count on them to cool off whenever I'm super thirsty for something refreshing. I ordered the osmanthus oolong milk tea along and it blew me away. My partner got their mochi bingsu and thought it was just OK. I like how the ice was very milky even though the price is a bit steep for the size. Overall, this place never disappoints when it comes to ordering a milk tea. Their wings are a different level of tastiness. I've never had it at this location but the one in Chinatown always slaps! read more

Neat and bright inside. Huge menu! I used the kiosk to order and then waited. Maybe 3 min later my drink was ready. Got a hot King of Oolong milk tea with no normal (amber) boba, but w/ lychee jelly, 30% sugar, no ice. Pretty good. Little more like a normal tea than boba tea, but flavor was nice. Next time I might go with little more sugar. Menu is sooo huuuge. Soo many drink and food choices it's slightly overwhelming. Will stop by next time in area. read more

I love the wide selection and variety of choices available. It's a good idea to talk to someone there to learn about what they offer, as these franchises can have slightly different menus. The food options often depend on what the franchise chooses to serve and what they expect customers to enjoy. Their hours of operation are late, but it's best to check directly with the store for specific times. This is a great spot to meet a friend for a quick bite or drink. Although it's a bit out of the way, it's worth the trip since places like this are rare in the area. Enjoy and treat yourself to a tasty drink after your meal! read more

Tsaocaa Niles - Dec 2024 Front Area - Bubble Tea Near Me - Niles, Illinois

Yummy flavors and Taiwanese style fluffy and soft tiny shaved ice which was so good and melted in my mouth. They have added injeolmi (Korean bean nutty based powder) bingsu with fruit like strawberries or melon or mango. But there was so little injeolmi powder and after seeing pics of some other reviews I thought they definitely did not put enough for a regular sized bingsu for $12.95. They have good customizable bubble teas about $6.50 as a base then the upcharge for bubbles or popping or crystal etc. They have a good variety of bubbles and all good and up charges of like $0,75. They also sell corn dogs and Korean style chicken. Seating indoors and it's warm inside. They have toys gifts for points earned when you put your phone number in. So add your number when you order. You can order at the front or the kiosk. They had 80s music on on 3-22-25 and it was nice. This is a Chain store. read more

My favorite order is a coconut mango slush w amber boba. There are several new additions to the menu -- savory fried chicken skewers , corn dogs, wings -- that I will have to try on another visit. It's so nice they have a location right outside the Niles Hmart because it's a perfect snack to get after grocery shopping! As you walk in, there's two kiosks to order drinks and food so that was really convenient. Our drinks came out soon after and we were surprised how big the drinks were. The cookie butter milk tea (70% sweetness) was the perfect amount of sweetness for me and it was so good! The tea flavor balanced out the cookie butter flavoring and there were biscoff bits in the drink. The taro green milk tea was also incredible with bits of taro throughout the drink. The service was friendly and they made the drinks really fast so we have no complaints! read more

The boba here is quite overpriced compared to other boba spots around the area. The drink was good. I did get it with less sugar and it was still pretty delightful. Most of the drinks are one size which is too big of a portion size for myself. The popcorn chicken was good but could have used more frying time for more crisp. The service was good considering how busy they were with lots of orders. The ambiance at the time we went was very busy and a lot of children so it was very loud and crowded in a fairly small boba spot. They have lots of options for snack like foods and also boba. Would love to try other items in the future. I would recommend but do keep in mind it is pricier but the portions are slightly bigger. read more

I was super super excited when this place opened to have such great bubble tea so close! It took me too long to actually finally come here and try their food and drinks. I ordered the peach oolong tea with nata jelly at 50% sweetness, it was very refreshing and satisfying! And of course the ultimate of Asian compliments "Not too sweet". My husband got the fries and popcorn chicken combo, he demolished it but also said the chicken itself was a little bland. Different from the flavorful Taiwanese popcorn chicken we've had at other places. But that also didn't stop him from scarfing it down so... The staff was extremely helpful and were churning out orders. They have 2 kiosks by the door for e-ordering or you can order with the cashier. It's a small but cute space and they have a few benches by the wall for waiting, and a handful of small tables for eating/drinking in. Hooray! This place finally opened! They have several locations, including one in Lincoln Park, it was great that they decided to open one up here in Niles. The owner of this place use to own the Dream Place, and it's great to see another Chinese-owned business. If you don't know what "Tsaocaa" means, it's "early tea" in Chinese. They have plenty of options to choose from. There are two kiosks if you don't want the pressure of ordering in person, where there are detailed pictures and description of the beverage. It is highly customizable with toppings, even the amount of sugar you want in the drink. I ordered the strawberry green tea, with milk foam with 0% sugar, and it was scrum-diddly-umptious. What a refreshing and delightful treat. My drink came out pretty promptly after ordering. The seating area had several tables and chairs, including a super long solid-wood bench along one side of the wall. The place had a perfect balance of seats and relaxing, or just going to grab a drink to-go. Place wasn't super-load from the making of the drinks, and the overall ambiance was great. BATHROOM REVIEW: Located past a semi-long hallway past the main drink making area, the bathroom is a single-person bathroom for mens and women. This place, as of July 2023, is super new. The bathroom was no exception. Super clean, and newly constructed, with wall-anchors still in the semi-finished paint, everything was in immaculate condition. Sit or squat? Sit! read more

A new boba shop that does their drinks excellently. The interior of this place isn't as flashy as some of the other shops I have been seeing open, but to me, the flavor of the drinks is more important. They have plenty of options for everyone, and they show off the fact that they use real taro for their drinks instead of powder. For sure, I will be trying out a taro drink next time. I like that most of their drinks have the option to reduce the sugar since I don't like overly sweet drinks. Additionally, if you like warm drinks, you can add a note on their kiosk to make it a hot drink. I got the king of milk oolong tea with a milk cap. The tea was nicely brewed, and the milk cap blended pretty well. I would say that the milk cap here was slightly less thick than I like, but it is still favorable. This is a new shop, so not too many people seem to go here yet, but I can see it being a go-to spot for some in the future. read more

So I went on Sunday on the last grand opening day. Ordering from the Kiosk is easy. My items came out at different times but the wait wasn't long. There's enough seating for about... 10 people? The boba was good and the bubble waffle was delicious. The bathroom is clean - the only thing that was inconvenient was that there was no hook to put your purse or jacket onto. It's new so I'm sure they're still learning, but I actually got to the place a little before they opened. The open sign was on and the door was open, making people think they can enter. So I just watched a bunch of customers get turned away at the door for half an hour. Perhaps don't have the open sign on if the store isn't open yet. read more

I've been here a few times. First time it was favorable, second time I was not satisfied with the drink (haha my fault! It was a rare occurrence that I only had cash, and the cashier stated to "order at the kiosk" but I responded that I only had cash. She then said they were closing the cash register (time being 9:15, they close at 11pm) I want to give them the benefit of the doubt--they want to close the register early etc. It's unfortunate that I drove 20 minutes to find out they couldn't accept cash. I discovered Tsaocaa Niles while in search of a neighboring restaurant (Oh K-Dog) inside of Super H-Mart. Tsaocaa Niles just happens to share the same parking lot as Super H-Mart, so its location was hard to miss. From there, it became an instant bookmark for me to visit after I viewed and took a liking to the featured drinks on its menu. Tsaocaa sits along a strip of businesses within Civic Center Plaza amongst several other businesses like Super H-Mart, Home Depot, O'Reilly's, etc. Being that it sits inside of a plaza, the parking lot is shared, and there are plenty of spots available including spots directly outside of the restaurant. I was acknowledged shortly after I walked in and up to the register to look at the menu. For your information, there are also two kiosk machines that sit off to the side near the entrance for ordering as well. I ended up ordering a Mango & Passionfruit Green Tea w. Nata Jelly along with Waffle Fries. Out of the many selections of drinks, it was the ingredients that led me to choosing the Mango & Passionfruit Green Tea w. Nata Jelly. Moreover, I did like some of the drinks featured in the classic fruit tea section of the menu which will likely lead me back to Tsaocaa. Service: 4 (Good) I opted out of dining in the restaurant and choosing to enjoy my order inside of my vehicle. Nothing wrong with the atmosphere of Tsaocaa, I just was not in the mood to dine-in. Moreover, the atmosphere appeared bright and gave off a relaxed vibe. And there is a decent number of tables and seats available inside of the dining area. Atmosphere: 4 (Good) The waffle fries were fresh and tasted crispy! Since it took some time for them to cook, that was the least I expected them to be. I really loved that there were two bamboo skewers given to alleviate touching the waffle fries with my hands. Not that I have any issues with that, but still, I did not have to worry about wiping my hands with napkins after touching greasy waffle fries. I could not wait to taste the Mango & Passionfruit Green Tea w. Nata Jelly which I felt I waited too long to taste. Too long as in I waited until the order of waffle fries were cooked by Tsaocaa, and I waited to take my first sip of it while inside of my vehicle until I ate all of the waffle fries. Yep! After my first sip, I said to myself "This is good!". And with every sip until the last, I enjoyed the chunks of nata jelly inside. It certainly lived up to the wait and I could not help but think to myself a 50% sugar level drink does not taste bad at all. Food: 4 (Good) Being that I had a good experience, I would gladly re-visit Tsaocaa Niles again when in the Niles area.
