Avalanche is a great little oasis of flavor tucked into a nondescript Morton Grove strip mall. The menu is broad and service is friendly; in fact, they offer such a wide array of choices that I was left standing at the counter stumped for a few minutes. And after I tried my drink, I kinda wished I had ordered a large. While you wait for your order, be sure to check out the eclectic wall decor, which is by turns interesting and funny. Happy to have found this gem, and looking forward to sampling more of the varied drinks on offer on return visits.

Get lots of good stuff in your bubble tea from here. It's a pretty boring looking place from the outside in a strip mall but don't let that make you think it sucks. Avalanche is one of the first and still among the best places for bubble tea in Morton Grove. Pretty small inside but there's a few comfortable chairs and couches to relax on. The menu is pretty must just teas. Came when it was warm and I needed a cool drink. It hit the spot for sure. The main things here are teas. Basically that is the entire menu. It's about $5 for a regular size tea. Get fruit teas or milk teas, and these come with boba. There's other stuff to add as well. Lychee jelly is an interesting one to mix in. They also have almond and coconut among the non dairy milks. Has lots of cool drinks. It's located in a strip mall. There seems to be an endless amount of flavors and the fruit is fresh and not frozen premade kind of stuff.

Now this is the OG spot. I've been coming here since I was in grade school and it's still standing strong! It's just as good every time I visit. Staff is always so kind and welcoming. Their menu hasn't changed much from what I remember. They offer so many flavors I wanna try them all! This time, I got taro which I love because the flavor is pretty strong compared to other places. They have alot of other unique hybrid flavors I would love to try. When I say the place hasn't changed a bit, I mean it. Everything from the signage to the decor and furniture inside has been the same since I was a child. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to renovate? However the vibe it has now feels very nostalgic, comfortable, and homey.

You want bubble tea? Look no further - Avalanche is the spot! Literally always down to drive an hour just to get their Mango Avalanche - it's a classic and phenomenal! Tapioca (bubbles) are free but I recommend skipping them and instead adding lychee jelly. It will cost you a bit extra but oh is it worth it!! It's not your typical boba spot but I love it so much. Can confirm the Banana Avalanche is pretty delicious as well!

Avalanche is a local staple, people! My friend took me here during my visit and she's been coming since high school, so you know it's good. Options, options! There are sooo many flavor and style options here - we're talking flavored bubble tea, milk tea, fresh fruit smoothies, and more. It's an overwhelming amount of options, in a great way! Check out their sign with the most popular combos for your first visit. THE BEST PART? They use fresh fruit in their smoothies! I opted for Mango Peach with boba pearls, and could taste the fresh flavor. Enjoy!

It's super busy in and around here. The raspberry redhead is sour, peanut banana, mango lychee boba and a strawberry watermelon. Our 3 drink orders would take about 5 minutes or so. It took a little over 5 minutes to get our orders. The mango lychee boba is tasty, such a nice balance from the lychee and boba. The strawberry watermelon is refreshingly good. I can definitely taste the watermelon juice, it's fresh and little bits of the strawberry seeds too. The peanut butter banana was the best of the 3, but all are quite good.

The bubble tea here is fantastic! The boba is fresh as well as the fruits they use to make the smoothies. The service was super quick and atmosphere is cool. I highly recommend this place.

This place is amazing!!! Such a cool hangout spot and there's a park right across it. There were soooo many flavors to choose from! The Covid precautions are took your number after you ordered and then they text you when it is ready and you go and get it from inside. There's parking provided and it's a cite small shop would def come again

Many of their bubble teas do not contain any milk products but the milk tea derived ones do, of course, but I do not believe they offer soy milk or almond milk as options.

It was delectably foamy and sweet. My only regret was that it was this particular flavor combination didn't come with an option for a larger size. It really hit the spot for a cold, foamy beverage with perfectly chewy boba. I also tried out their house special braised beef noodles. They were great, but I wish there were more vegetables and noodles. (This was just personal preference.) The beef was well braised, seasoned, and excellent. Patrons order from kiosks and pick up items from the front desk. It would have been nice to interact more with staff, but the system is definitely set up for efficiency. Parking is a shared plaza private lot with plenty of spots during the weekdays. Weekends can be hectic given the amount of businesses here. Worth a visit for sure!

Honestly if you're wanting a tea or a drink this place is great for that...but that's about it…read more I've been a number of times and really have had decent experiences and again would recommend the Nile's location for to-go drinks only. Everything else is sub par...the dan dan noodles may have been the worst I ever had. The noodles were over cooked and stuck together, there was hardly any toppings and it was not at all as it was described. We also got the "Chinese burger" honestly this was also not something I would ever get again. The "bun" situation was dry and had no flavor...also the pork had no flavor and was also dry...I can see why the girl behind was questioning if it was even on the menu still because clearly no one is ordering it and when a customer does they're surprised. Now what really put me off (aside from the surprise piece of aluminum foil found in our food) was the horrible customer service. While waiting for our drinks and food to come out all I hear is one of the employees behind the counter commenting on multiple items on our order. Is it really that hard to make a drink and add extra ice without questioning why you need to add extra ice if that's the special request? It's requested because maybe we like our drinks to not be luke warm and prefer them cold. Then to make comments and being surprised an item was ordered ("chinese" burger). It was on the menu it sounded interesting we wanted to try it...after hearing the reaction it honestly made me second guess placing the order. Then to top it off when the drinks were ready our name was called...I asked if the food would be coming later and the attitude I received back being told that it takes longer threw me off completely. Yes I asked if the food would be coming later but I was asking to ensure that they knew we also had a food order. The attitude implying that I didn't understand that it'll take a bit long was not necessary. Needless to say if we ever come back our orders will be ONLY for drinks, we will NOT be ordering food and I will hope to not have much of any interaction with the staff at this location. It will strictly be pick up & go. Hopefully your team takes some time to work on their customer service skills cause it's lacking.

Ranked number two at the time, it became an instant bookmark for me being that I absolutely love boba tea drinks. And honey, it was a must visit once I discovered the Oreo Shake which literally made my mouth salivate! Thanks to Ashley S, who shared a picture of it via yelp. I visited post getting off of work prior to driving towards Edens Expressway; its location sits not too far from downtown Skokie, an area that I frequent. I honestly feel like you have to be in search for Kandy Crush Melt because it sits off of Oakton St, yet on Kenton Ave. In my opinion, there needs to be some sort of signage off of Oakton Ave that would capture the interest of individuals driving along Oakton St. Even though I knew what I wanted to order before visiting, I took my time looking at the menu, just to confirm the items. And when I was ready, the employee took my order, and I ended up ordering the Oreo Shake as visited for. As I waited, I was given a free sample of Mini Pancake Bites which were freaking delicious! I finished every bit of what was given because I had not ever tasted anything as delicious as that Nutella syrup. Immediately after finishing off the Mini Pancake Bites, I began taking sips of the Oreo Shake which I must say looked wonderful! Eek! Brain freeze! Tehehe, these taste buds of mine were surged with that delicious Oreo taste as anticipated. From then on, every sip was a mouthful of joy as I drove, resulting in a slight grin that not even traffic on the Expressway could break, I kid you not. There was a point while driving along the Expressway that I questioned if I would be able to finish it off; thinking to myself that it was good that I ordered a medium size Oreo Shake rather than a large because that shake, good Lord; the medium was definitely enough. Being that I had a great experience, I would gladly order from Kandy Crush Melt again when in the Skokie area. For future orders, I can surely see myself ordering via yelp in order to make it an in-and-out visit while on the go for sure. The good: I chose the herbal chicken and the spicy pickled mustard green soups bases, both soups are great and flavorful, the sauce bar has a great selection to make your own sauce, and the tiger sauce is incredible, (don't miss out on that one), the place is clean and fancy, service was incredible, waitress was checking on us constantly to make sure we are covered. Since we hadn't been here, we decided to check it out. This restaurant is located off Dempster St. in a small plaza. They serve a variety of dosas and Indian street food dishes. We ordered a Ghee Roasted Dosa, and extra spicy Mysore Masala Dosa, a Spring Dosa, Mumbai Pav Bhaji, and two Adani teas. The food was served promptly. The food is served in sturdy disposable food trays along with plastic ware and hot beverages are served in coffee shop like to-go, small size (paper) coffee cups. The tea was scalding hot as it was freshly prepared. I had to let it cool off. The plastic lid of the cup was tightly fitted and given how hot the cup was, it was hard to take the plastic lid off. The lid was hot along with the cup. They had the hot cup sleeves but they were too big for their small tea cups. The tea was nice. All the dosas were tasty. We liked them. They had decent flavor and texture. They were a bit thicker than the dosas from other south Indian restaurants we have eaten at. That wasn't a problem to us. The spice level for my dosa was good. The accompaniments with the dosas of sambar, coconut chutney, and tomato chutney, for dosa dipping purposes, were nice. We really liked the coconut chutney (w/ cashews) and tomato chutney (w/ peanuts). They were flavorful. The sambar had a nice flavor (from spices & veggies) but texture wise it could've been better. It needed to be a bit thicker. The Pav Bhaji (bread with mixed veggies in a gravy) had a decent taste but it needed to be thick with some body from the usual veggies in it. The Pav (Indian bread) for the Bhaji was really good. Our experience was nice. The service was decent. We were the first customers after they opened at 12:30 pm but a short time later, the restaurant got busy. If I am in the area again, I would go back. Overall, 3.5 stars.
