I'm surprised to see a spate of negative reviews recently. I've been going for about three years and it's always been really good. I ordered takeout twice within the past week, for uh, you know, research. Savory, delicious research. The chicken was excellent as ever. Both fries and broasted potatoes are nothing to write home about, but the onion rings are solid. read more

Chicken Inn is great! Always good chicken and delicious potato wedges! Every time is a good experience. read more

Most of the time everything's tasty sometimes not occasionally potatoes are very soggy not appetizing and occasionally I get diarrhea by eating a food here once in a while I'm being honest service is great little waiting time not bad read more

Decent chicken - only take out. Difficult parking lot to get in and out of, but it's doable.

We preordered 35 pieces of chicken, no wings, and our order was ready on time for our pickup and was hot, fresh and delicious with just the right amount of seasoning. Chicken pieces were good sized and very juicy. Everyone enjoyed it and I would definitely order from here again read more

This is a tiny storefront in a tiny strip center with a tiny parking lot offering to go orders only. The two piece dark was a good price but they have a surcharge. I hate surcharges. Just be honest with your price upfront without adding fees to the back end. The staff was okay, not overly friendly but not rude either. Pretty common Chicago attitudes. Their chicken is good but it was cold like it had been sitting under a heat lamp that wasn't working.. I was suspicious by how quickly they handed me my order, so I know it wasn't cooked to order. Their potatoes were cold and not that great, definitely sitting out for a while. The slaw was pretty much just cabbage, mayo, and vinegar. Southerners know that sometimes the gas station on the corner has the best fried chicken and the best tater logs in town. Once you leave the south the quality drops though. This reminds me of food from a yankee gas station. read more

Fantastic chicken .....been going here for 20 years. NO KFC!!! NO POPEYE'S!!! Only carry out.

Great Chicken! It was fresh, tasty and crunchy without extra breading. They cater for larger events too

The longevity of Chicken Inn says it all. No place lasts this long without excellence in every way. Despite occasional missteps this is a solid delicious option for broasted Chicken. read more

Love the chicken here , call ahead for larger orders. Have not tried anything other than the chicken, always good , well seasoned and hot fresh and delicious! No ambiance, none needed it's a pick up and go establishment. read more

The broasted chicken was just "ok." I had really been looking forward to going here when I came into town. Maybe it was an off night? Will definitely go again next time I am in the area. read more

I have been going to this establishment for over 30 years because they HAD the best broasted chicken. They must have forgotten how to make it because the last three times I have ordered there, the chicken was so over cooked it was not crispy but burnt and dry. I thought they may have been refrying when I ordered so I requested freshly made chicken today. Same overcooked dry chicken. I went back in to ask them if this is how they make the chicken now and the kid behind the counter said, "uhhh, it's the oil". Looks like they don't change their oil which says a lot about the quality. Won't be back. read more

Food was still hot when we got home, a 25-minute drive. We arrived 15 minutes early for our scheduled pick up, but everything was packed and ready to go. Chicken and the broasted potatoes were all very good. Chicken was moist and potatoes were fluffy on the inside with a little crisp on the outside. Couldn't ask for anything more. Take this all day over KFC. read more

Chicken Inn has been around for 50 years, but I had the broasted chicken for the first time recently. Chicken Inn is located along a strip mall, and there is no dine in whatsoever as there is just a small bare-bones vestibule to stand in if you are picking up an order. I was in there just long enough to appreciate the framed images of chickens. My buds seemed to know the lay of the land, and sure enough once they placed our order the food came out to us in just a few minutes. Our chicken buffet order of 16 pieces of chicken came with broasted potato wedges and a container of cole slaw (other sides are fries and rolls). This combo meal fed our party of six and cost about $41, not bad at all. The broasted chicken was tasty and was close enough in flavor to fried chicken while being less greasy. We had fun with the broasted potatoes as they are huge wedges of potato. The cole slaw was creamy if modestly flavored. read more

The best fried chicken place to go to. They are crispy and juicy. Price is OK. I love that you can also get fried chicken liver and gizzard. The place is just to go. Service is quick. read more

My family has been ordering food from this establishment for many years. Great juicy chicken and the best cole slaw. Easy ordering and fast preparation read more

1st, stop removing the chicken tender off the chicken breast, leaving a sm chicken breast, n so so so so SMALL, for the $$. Roasted chicken breast used to be amazing n I moved n was driving 1/2 to buy it, n bought for 30 yrs! New owner Debbie shrunk the sz of the chicken breast plus no tender on the breast n OVERCOOK the hell out of this chicken, maybe using old cook times! Horrible, dried out, sm, n might as well go to Popeyes n eat tasty chicken! At this rate, they'll close they're doors as bad expensive chicken! read more

Best darn broasted chicken on the NW side of Chicago, and maybe the world! Love this place. Get yourself some, of have some delivered. The slaw and onion rings are also excellent. Check it out. You won't be disappointed. read more

Love their broasted chicken. I order their chicken and broasted potatoes for parties and put out toppings on the side to create a broasted potato bar. For the kids I get chicken nuggets and mozzarella sticks. The food is always a hit. Always delivered hot and fresh! read more

See all

It was great to call the restaurant directly and put in my order. Super polite fella answered my questions and we ordered the 8 piece buffet for dinner tonight. They use their own people to deliver so all the $ goes to the restaurant. I think the guy who took my order was the delivery person. He brought a hand held machine to charge us, so no worries about giving a card over the phone. Chicken was hot and cooked perfectly. The potatoes were good as well, and not overdone. Juicy fried chicken and was able to sub out wings for other dark meat-legs! Thanks for giving me the night off cooking and leftovers to spare for lunch tomorrow. First timer for this place while my fella ate here 20 years ago. We will be ordering again and look forward to this great fried chicken again. Only thing is wish it had some more spice, but hey, 50 years in business, they're making a good fried chicken. Maybe next time I'll try I'll the broasted version. read more

Chicken Inn - The 8 pc Chicken Buffet cooked perfectly. - Chicken Wings Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

I ordered the 16 piece chicken dinner buffet that came with 16 pieces of chicken, fries and rolls. The chicken seemed like it was fried at a temp too low because it wasn't crispy and it was greasier than chicken should be. It seemed like the oil had been used one too many times since it tasted slightly fishy (from frying with fish). The fries were fine but bland. The rolls tasted like I was eating spongy flour. Even my carb loving children wouldn't eat them. I would have given them 1 star but the food was prompt and fries were plentiful. I would not eat from here again. read more

Chicken was burnt worst from that establishment! Sorry I've that place at one time, but was sold and they suck!

I have been going to chicken Inn since I was a young man, but yesterday was my last time. I spent $60 for 6 thighs and 6 breasts. When I returned home the chicken looked more like chicken jerky! It was so dry it looked like it was left sitting for a long time or over cooked. It's a shame as I have never gotten a bad order in the past. read more

I've been waiting to have this chicken for several months. So I had some yesterday. My Son picked it up after 15 minutes or so when they told him to. The chicken was cool and overcooked. I was very disappointed in the chicken. Next time KFC I would give them two stars read more

Customer service could be better. Ordered 20+ pieces for a Christmas party. I went in personally, ordered and paid for the order to be picked up at 5:30pm on the day of the party, which was 2 days later. At 5pm, a voicemail was left on my phone stating that my chicken had been sitting there since 3:30pm, and why wasn't it picked up. He was very rude. My question is why did he wait till 5pm to call me? That was only 90 minutes under the lights getting dried up. I immediately called back. It went directly to voice mail. I called repeatedly before the call was answered, put on hold and promptly disconnected. We finally connected and I was told that my credit card receipt showed the time of 3:30pm pickup. It did not. Somehow, there was no responsibility on their part. He told me to come by and there would be fresh chicken waiting for me at 5:30pm. The chicken was as dry as the Sahara Desert. Nobody ate it. Such a disappointment. I believe they just dropped it into the fryer to heat the chicken up. Chicken Inn has had a wonderful reputation in our neighborhood for years, but we will never go there again. read more

Ordered here again last night 10/28/23 . I am a Chicken connoisseur. This Chicken is in a class by itself . Absolutely top 3 anywhere in Chicagoland. Great service and packaging. read more

Ok, we late to the show but we here now! This chicken is fire! Love places that don't look like much but pack a punch! Got the 3 piece fried chicken meal. Came with 2 breast (perfectly cooked) and a wing. Cole slaw (on point) and a roll. No sauce on the menu. Straight up chicken! Fries not bad. Not outstanding but played their role. $2 pop's. Wife had shrimp dinner, she said it was very crispy and good. Same sides as mine. Popeye's = No, KFC = No, BBW = Hell No! Chicken Inn = Hell yeah! read more

Little whole in the wall place with challenging parking because of the 3 way intersection, tried 3 piece Dark meal and I'm giving this 4 stars because of the chicken. The fries and coleslaw were very bland. However the chicken was so crispy, and so juicy I actually heard a loud crisp when I took a bite. Some of the best fried chicken I've ever had and highly recommend. I would suggest getting a bucket of Chicken and getting your own sides as there's didn't impress. But there fried chicken is definitely on another level!! read more

Love their broasted chicken-I am white meat guy by the way. Wish they still had their Palatine location, years ago. Anytime in I am stopping and picking up to go chicken for the family. Always steaming hot, I put in the trunk so my car does not smell like broadest chicken for days. read more

Chicken is always fresh and delicious! I love their broasted potatoes! Not a huge fan of the coleslaw, but my family loves it. They are also very accommodating....I called and needed the food in 15 min (didn't think that one through) and because it was a small order they had it ready for me even though they were super busy! read more

I went there the other day, after not ordering from here since before Covid hit. I remembered it being pretty good back in the day. The chicken came out very fast which was a good thing but upon eating it, I found the chicken to taste dry and kinda greasy. sorry to say, I was greatly disappointed. read more

Now I love a good steak, But, Chicken Inn Rules. My motto is-" You got No beef with Chicken" ;) Hands down some of the best Fried Chicken on the North Side at a reasonable price.. I used to enjoy a popey's every now & then until last week- which is another Bad review- but this place is delisious.. I ordered a 4-peice.. Moist, and the breading was very tastey.. The place looked very clean inside and the workers all wearing PPEs... Very Happy with Chicken Inn read more

Chicken Inn - Chicken Wings Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Yummy and crisp chicken, though the sides are lacking any variety. The "spicy" chicken is pretty mild.

I have loved their chicken for over 30 years. Their chicken and broasted potatoes deserve 5 stars. I tried the ribs, and was disappointed for the first time. The sauce wasn't bad, but the ribs were much too salty. I will stick to their chicken from now on. read more

Delicious food! No dining room - take out only. Limited menus -- broasted chicken, barbeque ribs, fried shrimp. Side include broasted potato wedges, French fries, mushrooms, broccoli cheese bites, soft rolls, and tasty cole slaw read more

This tiny carryout joint is a time machine. Apart from obligatory price increases over the years, little else has changed since 1972. The gaudy, oversized sign has become iconic and the menu is unapologetically retro. The order window and waiting area were "minimalist" long before that term was invented. But there is no need to update the appearance. IMHO, their broasted chicken and potato wedges are better than anyone else's, and that's what keeps this mom-and-pop business rolling. read more

Chicken inn has the best chicken around ! They are always so fast and efficient . I got the chicken tenders and they have the besttt sauce I've ever tasted to pair with it . Sooo soo good . Highly Recommend read more
