Dropped in for a quick lunch. Ordered the classic smash burger and onion rings. They cook it to order. when I got the order I was surprised it also included fries. The burger was huge. It was supposed to be a 1/4 pound. It had to be near 1/2 point. Nidely charred and crisp. It was on a sesame bun and had lettuce pickles, onions and tomato and a nice sauce. It was amazing. The onion rings were good, but I thought didn't have the onion taste I was looking for. The fries were crisp and all in all it was way too much food. The service is quick and it seems to be a popular place. It seems almost like a Harolds with a stark front with plexiglass window to place your order and pick up food. It's a bit off-putting. I don't think it's in a bad neighborhood so it's a bit like overkill on the security. Particularly since it's in a strip mall. read more

I'm giving an extra 0.5 points here because mine actually came very crispy. Not sure if I got a lucky batch, but if they always come out like this it's honestly pretty impressive! Philly Cheesesteak (8/10) This was definitely better than I expected. I got the 6" and it still felt like a pretty substantial sandwich. It wasn't cheese whiz as is traditional, but honestly I think I like the provolone more. They add mayo on their cheesesteaks, which I've never had before and purists would likely tell you is blasphemy - but I thought it was pretty good! I often have a problem with Philly Cheesesteaks being too bland, but the mayo actually helped a bit in this regard from my POV. Gyro Sandwich (7/10) A pretty standard Greek-style gyro sandwich. I don't have a ton to say about this - it's a pretty middle-of-the-road, but certainly competent, gyro on pita with tzatziki, onions, and tomatoes. The tomatoes got a bit cooked, but I'll probably attribute that to the takeout process so I won't knock them too much for it. I was moving my gyro around when I got what was like a splinter stuck in my finger. When I took the lettuce off I found little sharp needle like things inside of the meat. Went back to Fatzees to show the guy who made it. Now there where two guys in there. The other guy claimed it was the Cajun seasoning he showed me in a container. I didn't see any needle like things in it. I left the food there and went back to work hungry. They did not offer a refund or apologize. read more

Not going to lie, when I first pulled up to this place I was skeptical about how the food was going to be. This place is the definition of a hole-in-the-wall. I'm a big Philly Cheese Steak fan and came specifically for that and nothing else. We got one Philly with the cheese sauce and one Philly with smoked mozzarella. Both were surprisingly delicious. Meat was tender and seasoned beautifully. The cheese wasn't over powering where you can't taste and enjoy the meat, and the bun just brought everything together. The main issue I've seen with people making Philly cheese steaks is the cheese is over powering where you can't even taste the meat, that's not the case at this restaurant. This is by far the best halal Philly I've ever had. I've tried Philly sandwiches in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toronto, Dallas, Houston and even the famous Saad's in Philadelphia and I feel this place beats all of them. The owner Zohaib is a very passionate guy and even showed us his whole kitchen and is cutting and grinding his own meat, no processed stuff (except the fries). I'm already itching to go again. Don't let the negative reviews deter you from going, I went 12/28/2019 and I was content. My only fear of writing this review is over-hyping this restaurant. Only reason I'm not giving this place 5 stars is because of the ambiance. The store sign I think needs to be updated and the inside is in the process of being updated. It's a small space inside and 4-5 friends can probably sit and eat, but it's more of a take it to-go restaurant. As long as Papa Philly stays consistent with the quality I experienced, I am sure they have a long successful road ahead of them. Got the philly chz steak and fries yesterday. Fries were kinda mid but philly was good.

I had the fried chicken. It was really good. Taste homemade like an African American grandma was going in the back! It was fresh. The service was decent. No long wait. It seemed pretty clean. No complaints there. The only thing is, it was a little too greasy, it needs to be strained more. I went at night around 930pm so I'm wondering did I get the last batch. They have to be care about using the same grease to much. Once the grease is burned that ruins everything. I could taste some of the wings had a burned taste and was way too much batter. First of all when I drove to Fatzees, the area looked extra shady and felt weirded out. Secondly, when I walked inside, the place looked ok. I have ordered the mango habanero chicken sandwich with fries. When I went to get my food, the guy behind the counter said "we're out of mango habanero instead I made you the regular chicken sandwich. I was extremely disappointed when he said that. When I got home and opened up the bag, they chipped me on the fries. They didn't even filled the small bag half way up. 3 hours later, after I ate the food, I had a huge tummy ache, went to the bathroom and had diarrhea.... I don't have an air fryer so my go to place is Fatzees. I pick up my order of fried chicken 3-4 times a year. You can pick 4, 6, 8, 10, 15, 20 or 30-piece whole wings which comes with an order of fries and a soda. I usually get the 8 or 10-piece. They also serve other kinds of food like Philly Cheesesteak sandwich which is also good but I don't have anyplace to compare it to. The burger is also good. I've ordered here twice, both very simple orders they got a little bit wrong. They put the wrong cheese on my cheesesteak the first time, then the second time I paid extra for the onion rings and just got fries. This would be forgiveable if the food was good, but it was pretty awful. The cheesesteak was very cold and wet, possibly because it was someone else's order that had been sitting around. The chicken fingers were inedible, like the worst bag of frozen chicken at the grocery store. I had to keep pulling out weird meat strings that could not be chewed. I tried two different food options here. The burger was lame. Not juicy, not flavorful. I can always tell if it's yummy burger if it tastes good even without the bun. I ordered it bun-less, they put it on a bed of chopped lettuce topped with American cheese (even though they told me it's cheddar). Second order was the spicy chicken shawarma. Instead of on bread I also ordered this on a salad. It was extremely salty! I am so glad that yelp reminded me about leaving a review (since I never do whether it's a +/-experience. ) I had a taste for a Philly cheesesteak I just had one from 'Eastern style'. my dad, so I didn't want to go to them again. I looked on Yelp and found that fancies is known for their cheesesteak. such a taste for a Philly cheesesteak I got two of them for me and my mother-in-law and I get back to the house after a 30 minute round-trip I went and took a bite. It was so spicy, and I am sensitive to space, but this was intolerable!!!! my mother-in-law as she's chewing it, and she says, maybe if you do it in small bites as she swallowed painfully so I called and let them know the gentleman they were nice on the phone. He was fine to make new ones even though it was annoying that I had to drive 30 minutes round-trip again so I pick up my order as well smells good looks good get home same thing only it was like fresher meat that's it, just as spicy so I decide not to call. I just go back decided just want my money back and go there and bring them their package of the uneven food bowls, both meals, an eaten except for a bite or two and the first gentleman excepted it no problem give me my money back as I was leaving the other gentleman the one that was the cook. A couple buddies and I were taking pictures by the lake. We started to get hungry and searched for places to eat. We saw papa philly pop up and we decided to stop by. When we walked in, everything was clean. The prices were low. I wish I could give this place 10 stars. I am definitely coming back. The owner was very friendly and understanding. A little gem! I bought the cheesy Philly and it was cheesy and delicious! Its in a little strip which will make you skeptical but inside the reaturant is modern and clean. It is tiny but there are counters and stools where you can eat and we did. The staff are friendly. They care about keeping the place tidy.
