Takeaway: Quick and cheap Halal fast food - nothing fancy, but gets the job done and is honestly pretty decent Context: Got takeout for dinner Fries (7.5/10) These are basically just regular fries. I'm giving an extra 0.5 points here because mine actually came very crispy. Not sure if I got a lucky batch, but if they always come out like this it's honestly pretty impressive! Philly Cheesesteak (8/10) This was definitely better than I expected. I got the 6" and it still felt like a pretty substantial sandwich. It wasn't cheese whiz as is traditional, but honestly I think I like the provolone more. They add mayo on their cheesesteaks, which I've never had before and purists would likely tell you is blasphemy - but I thought it was pretty good! I often have a problem with Philly Cheesesteaks being too bland, but the mayo actually helped a bit in this regard from my POV. Gyro Sandwich (7/10) A pretty standard Greek-style gyro sandwich. I don't have a ton to say about this - it's a pretty middle-of-the-road, but certainly competent, gyro on pita with tzatziki, onions, and tomatoes. The tomatoes got a bit cooked, but I'll probably attribute that to the takeout process so I won't knock them too much for it. There are a ton of better options within a 10-15 min drive, but honestly this is pretty solid if all you're looking for / expecting is "pretty solid".

Not going to lie, when I first pulled up to this place I was skeptical about how the food was going to be. This place is the definition of a hole-in-the-wall. I'm a big Philly Cheese Steak fan and came specifically for that and nothing else. We got one Philly with the cheese sauce and one Philly with smoked mozzarella. Both were surprisingly delicious. Meat was tender and seasoned beautifully. The cheese wasn't over powering where you can't taste and enjoy the meat, and the bun just brought everything together. The main issue I've seen with people making Philly cheese steaks is the cheese is over powering where you can't even taste the meat, that's not the case at this restaurant. This is by far the best halal Philly I've ever had. I've tried Philly sandwiches in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toronto, Dallas, Houston and even the famous Saad's in Philadelphia and I feel this place beats all of them. The owner Zohaib is a very passionate guy and even showed us his whole kitchen and is cutting and grinding his own meat, no processed stuff (except the fries). I'm already itching to go again. Don't let the negative reviews deter you from going, I went 12/28/2019 and I was content. My only fear of writing this review is over-hyping this restaurant. Only reason I'm not giving this place 5 stars is because of the ambiance. The store sign I think needs to be updated and the inside is in the process of being updated. It's a small space inside and 4-5 friends can probably sit and eat, but it's more of a take it to-go restaurant. As long as Papa Philly stays consistent with the quality I experienced, I am sure they have a long successful road ahead of them. I'm definitely looking forward to go back in the next couple of days!

Delicious food and a Great Price. Can't go wrong when you got the munchies, whether it's lunch break or dinner. They will season your food just right. Milkshakes are very delicious as well.

You can get what is likely the most authentic cheesesteak in the Chicago area at Papa Philly. The chicken cheesesteak is great too

Best Philly cheesesteak I've had in the Chicago area, at least as good as Philly's Best, which is no longer in Evanston.

Now you only get that basement vibe when you head to the bathroom. lol Monti's is a legit cool kid now, and I'm not mad at it at all. The cheesesteak? Still doing what it's supposed to do. I ordered one to go and demolished it later that night, like usual. I did sit in and have a few beers and bites. Somehow I've been sleeping on the onion rings and wings this whole time. Listen, listen, listen, Linda, the onion rings; Do Not Change Them!!! Don't you dare switch to those battered, frozen, chain-restaurant rings of bull-s. These are the good rings. Now, the wangzzzz. I'm not going to pretend these are the absolute best wings in the entire city, but they are absolutely in the "I will randomly crave these on a Tuesday" category. The meat could use a little marinade situation to bring more flavor inside, but that crispy coating holds up to the sauce like a champ. I like it, I like it, I like it. Extra points for a buffalo sauce that actually has some thickness to it and isn't just "here's some hot sauce, on a wing being called buffalo sauce. Now, I am going to need to try some of the other wing sauces, but if they hold up too. I would rather come here than go to some other well known wing spots. Honestly, I can see myself rolling through just for wings, rings, and vibes. And that Golden Monkey beer? Yeah, go ahead and keep that on tap forever. Please and thank you. haha

When I arrived the cashier initially couldn't find my order in the system but after a lil detective work it was located. Even though it was a 20 min drive from the time I ordered my food to when I arrived. Add on an extra 10 min because I placed a phone call. So that's 30 min time that's elapsed since I ordered. I still had to wait an additional almost 20 min before I received my order. Mind you, I was driving from O'Hare airport. To Hammond, Ind because I think that's highly of your sandwiches. Then onward to the city of Chicago, the 100's to be exact , as my final destination. When I finally get home I'm definitely ready to eat but to my disappointment I couldn't even indulge like I was anticipating. I ordered two med mixed ( stark and chicken ) Philly sandwiches. Each with different toppings. What I got was two chicken sandwiches that looked like complete slop and were so messy they couldn't even be picked up to be eaten. So fk'n angry, pissed and most importantly hungry! Is a lil order accuracy too much to ask for?? I live entirely too far to drive back out there to rectify this problem. So that's why I'm here. I tried calling to speak to someone but I was out on hold. So if I can't complain to them directly. I'll complain to yall! S/N they just hung up after keeping me on hold for over 15 min. This gave me the opportunity to check out the eatery, which also sells all sorts of fun food snacks, beverages and products. There are a few tables should you wish to dine there. I ordered a half sandwich and my lovely wife wanted an order of cheese fries. I figured the half "Classic Reuben" would be a nice snack, but the portion looked more like a full sandwich rather than a mere half. The Reuben is served warm and tasty with corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and Russian dressing. The cheese fries were generously covered with cheese sauce, and fortunately we ate them fairly quickly so they did not become too soggy. Our friends ordered full sandwiches, and so each sandwich seemed like two sandwiches in size. Needless to say, they had leftover sandwiches to take home. Ironically, I do not believe anything we ordered contained any pickle, oh well.
