Was looking at the hot air balloons doing their glow in downtown Durango. Stumbled across this restaurant and he wanted to get a drink so we headed in. He'd also not had a lot to eat so we looked at the menu and decided to share a po'boy. However, when we got up to the order counter (we were third in line), we were told that the kitchen wasn't making food for 15 minutes. So we ordered our drinks and then started to place a good order. They weren't even taking food orders. You had to come back in 15 minutes to do that. This I thought was ridiculous as we had waited in line and the line behind us was now all the way to the door. I wasn't going to stand in line again. The server wasn't that friendly either. Well we took our drinks and went out to sit at the stools on the small verandah. Restroom was clean and neat. There's a small corridor joining the order counter from the dining area. Looks like they have parking which was being used by one hot air balloon.

Gumbo!

Since we were in Durango for a couple days and at a hotel practically next door, we stopped in for a late lunch. When we realized they feature Cajun food, we had to create a sampler of amazing Cajun dishes: pulled pork sandwich, bowl of Gumbo, shrimp bisque, and red beans & rice. It was so delicious! Wow!! Sadly, we were only in town a short time, but if you are near downtown Durango we definitely recommend T's! We hope to be back soon.

Pulled pork yummy

In the parking lot of my hotel so fun to just walk over. Had the pulled pork and fries Its cute! Friendly staff and I'll come back

Nachos look good but not good

All sorts of terrible! First, we walked in during their advertised Happy Hour to find that not a single other person was there. Then, the girl at the register was extremely off putting. When I asked her about the specials and other questions about the menu she was completely unhelpful. She spoke so low that I couldn't even tell she was responding under the loud music! We the placed an order for the pulled pork nachos and small rib plate. Being the only people in the restaurant we thought the service would be pretty quick. Nope! It took 20 minutes for our food. Apparently our nachos had been done but the ribs took longer. By the time she brought out all of our food, the nachos had become dry and hard. The cheese solidified into a material that resembles silicone. I thought the ribs I ate were dry and chewy but my husband thought they were alright... edible but nothing to write home about. Don't waste your time or money coming here. Bad food and bad service make a bad experience.

Crawfish Boil!!! Ok so I've never had crawfish before so this was a whole new experience for me. First of all they flew them in from Louisiana and they arrived ALIVE! I literally got to watch them give the little guys a bath before they were boiled alive. Sorta made me a little sad but I know the flavor of fresh food is always best so.... After the deed is done, they come out hot, red, and spicey. Served in a huge pile with sweet corn on the cob, red potatoes, and sausage chunks. I have to admit looking at a whole animal, head and all was a little intimidating, not to mention I had no clue how to eat them. Luckily they were happy to teach me the proper technique and I got the hang of it quickly. The spice blend was awsome and covered the whole boil, the crawfish were good, think mini lobster but not as sweet, very tasty though. It was a fun experience, and only happens once a year at T's, unless you special order it for a catering event. It was a cool new experience for me, and this is yet another reason why this is my favorite restaurant.

Shrimp Po Boy Gumbo & deep fried corn on the cob. *****

While on vacation in Durango went to T's Smokehouse. Wow off the hook Cajun food, best we have had since we were in the Big Easy. The gumbo was great as was the shrimp po boy. The deep fried corn on the cob put our dinner over the top. Friendly service and great food what else could you ask for. Yummmy.

Really awesome food in the downtown Durango area! The alligator po'boy is so good! The only downfall is the absurd prices for what you get.

The service was quick and friendly, and the food came out fast. We started with the French onion soup, which was absolutely delicious--rich, flavorful, and definitely a must-try. I had the chicken pot pie, and it was fantastic. The puff pastry was soft and perfectly flaky, and the chicken filling was flavorful and cooked just right. My partner ordered the prime rib, which, unfortunately, was a bit tough and lacked seasoning--probably the only letdown of the meal. For dessert, we shared the peach cobbler with ice cream, and it was the perfect sweet ending. Warm, comforting, and not overly sweet--just right!

(LOL) But.... my personal business aside, it didn't disappoint. We sat at the bar and chatted it up with the bartender. Nice young man, can't remember his name. Hubs instantly ordered the Elk burger and I had the tuna melt. Hubs was delighted with his burger. Nice, rare burger with pepper jack cheese. He didn't even put ketchup on it. My sandwich was ok. The cheese wasn't melted and the fries were a bit soggy, or should I say crisp. I give the restaurant 4 stars for the ambiance. There might have been something else on the menu that might have "wowed" me.

It is also attached to the Camel's Garden Hotel so a convenient location. The bartenders, cashiers and other staff seamed friendly. They were in and out delivering food and cleaning up after everyone quickly. Drinks came quickly and were nice pours. For food, we ordered the steak fries, very good. Crispy outside, tender inside. Nachos were also very tasty. Real cheese not the sauce type fake cheese. Good toppings. The pork sandwich was a little dry and needed seasoning and sauce. The burger was a little dry as well, not cooked to order and the bun was dry and fell apart. But it came with all the toppings. Inside the restaurant were several families. Packed! Kids running around everywhere. It was way too chaotic for us personally so we sat outside. The patio was busy every afternoon with people and pups alike. I was sad to see so many people leave their dogs outside on the patio unattended, barking and whining looking for their person while they are inside drinking and dining. This happened every day so it seams normal. Telluride is a very dog friendly town. Overall good for after ski atmosphere. There seamed to always be some activity happening outside to watch or participate.

I really wish I could give a better review, because we were genuinely excited to work with Blue…read moreRibbon Barbecue for our wedding. This review reflects our experience with them as a caterer. The food itself was decent--definitely not Texas-level barbecue, but for Montrose, it's what you'd expect. We ordered 90 plates with the intention of having leftovers (74 mouths fed), but there were none. When our coordinator reached out, Tyler (the owner) explained that he always brings extra food so guests can have seconds. That didn't quite add up--why would a caterer bring extra food beyond what was paid for? It left us wondering whether the portions were simply miscalculated. Another issue was the food temperature. The small burners used during setup weren't effective at all. We were among the first to eat, and our food was already cold. I can only imagine how it was for guests at the later tables. One of the biggest disappointments was the trailer. We had a lot of family traveling in from Texas and were thrilled about the idea of Tyler's trailer, which has a big Texas graphic on the side. We mentioned this during our initial meeting and were quoted for 80 plates. Later, when we increased to 90 and asked about the trailer again, Tyler told us he doesn't bring it for larger catering events. That was a real letdown--not just aesthetically, but practically. We suspect the food would've stayed much warmer had the trailer been used instead of the burner setup. Overall, while the barbecue was okay, the experience didn't meet expectations--especially given the excitement and planning that went into it.

The mesquite smoked beef brisket sandwich was tender, juicy, packed full of flavor and plentiful! Ask for a fork and extra napkins...you'll need them! Our friend got the Bar-B-Que Sundae which looked delish! Gonna have to try that out next time! Overall we loved our sandwiches even though they were a little on the pricey side...two sandwiches (15.25/each) which included a small bag of Lays Potato chips. Plus a 20% tip...of course that was at our discretion. Bottom line, was it expensive? Yeah, but the food was great and I will never stop supporting our local food trucks and businesses! If you wanna grab some of Blue Ribbon Bar-B-Que's smoked deliciousness, their hang-out is at the Home Loan State Bank/Enstroms Parking Lot in Montrose.
