Great place to eat! The ambience was amazing, the chairs were all hand painted and beautiful. They give you chips and salsa, very good. Chips were homemade. I had Chicken de Pollo, it had a great flavor and the rice and beans were real good. My wife got the chicken quesadillas. Again very good. Order the churros for dessert. There were 9 Churros along with a large scoop of ice cream and whip cream. I highly recommend this place. We will go back next time we go to Ouray. read more

After a full day of hiking, we rolled back into Ouray absolutely starving and landed at Mi Mexico around 4:30 pm. We were seated right away and immediately brought chips and salsa. Both were solid--the salsa had a nice little kick to it. We ordered a chimichanga and an à la carte taco, and the food came out in just a few minutes--super fast service, which we appreciated after such a long day. Everything was tasty enough, but I wouldn't really call what I got a chimichanga. It was more like a burrito--meat wrapped in a flour tortilla and topped with sauce. Where I'm from, chimichangas are deep-fried. Still, the flavors were good, and it definitely hit the spot. Overall, Mi Mexico wasn't the best Mexican food I've ever had, but it was quick, filling, and convenient. With a big menu and a location just a block off Main Street, it's a decent option if you're in Ouray and craving Mexican food. read more

Food wasn't good but it also wasn't bad. I got the enchiladas- didn't seem like there was any sauce on them. Also the chicken inside was really tough and the flavor was a little off. We very seldom complain about restaurants, but the food here was rated a 5 out of -0 for us. Our table was so sticky. Yep, sticky. Our cheese and onion enchiladas were not tasty. The onions were not cooked inside. The chips were heavy and thick. Not warm. There is more, but enough. We will not be going back. And way too sweet a margarita. I will say the service was nice! I liked the prompt, friendly service and the margarita (and overall cost of the meal for 4) was great for a tourist driven town like Ouray. The food though wasn't that great. My chimichanga wasn't crispy at all and the chicken was bland. My wife's chili relleno was oily and tasteless. Eldest son's queso burrito looked good (and he seemed to enjoy it), but it did a number on him later at the rental. My youngest had the tastiest meal (taquito's). Our Airbnb host recommended this place to us, as the most authentic Mexican food ever. We all enjoy a good Mexican dish so we decided to go. I would have to disagree. There are plenty of other Mexican restaurants that are superior, but it was decent. Service was really good. We had 5 people so had a good mix of food ordered from enchiladas, burritos and fajitas. Typical places serve the fajitas with 3-4 torts, this place gave us way more than that, wish was great! It allowed us to share. From the outside the place looks pretty legit, I will say. read more

Love us some Mi Mexico! After a fun day of cross-country skiing we decided to stop in Ouray...one of our fav little mountain towns. Thirsty and hungry we were like "Hey, let's go to Mi Mexico!" We haven't been to this location...only Montrose. Not everyone may know this, but this was the old Coachlight Restaurant and the building dates back to 1887 and has some really unique features. When we first walked in we were enamored with the stained glass windows/accents and loved the antler light fixtures. Historically, the stained glass dates back to 1968 when former owners bought it from a Montrose church...pretty cool. Ok, so on to the food! I got the Ensalda Cocula and the hubs got Chicken Mole...both were yummers x2! All in all...the service and food was excellent. It's such a great place that's historic mixed in with all of the traditional Mi Mexico décore...and the delicious authentic Mexican food of course! Let me tell ya, if the food only matched the service...WOW! Our server was fantastic, he worked dang hard to get our food to us quickly, and kept our drinks full. That being said...the food was just meh. We had a group of 9, and no one loved their meal.
