If that describes you, you will want to put Acton MA in your GPS and make your way to this delightful destination. Solid beer selection and flights that provide 6 generous samplings from their malty menu. Presentation is half the experience, and they have cool little goblets from which to lap their lagers and sip their stouts. I got the California burger with a side of buffalo mac and cheese. You will not be disappointed by this combo. And you will not leave hungry. Flavor explosions could likely be heard from a half mile away. The mac had moxie! I like this place. The staff was friendly and the food was okay. My issue is the fact is this is a brewery or a brew house and the one thing that wasn't talked about at all was beer. We were seated and given a food, wine and cocktail menu. I asked about a beer menu and I was directed to a QR code or a tv screen for that menu. I could not find a list of any beer they make on premise, if any. It was all the same good craft beer you'll find most beer bars. Talk beer with your guests. It enhances the experience and guarantee a return. I saw a few issues with their systems as well. The aesthetics of the inside was nice and clean but nothing practical for the staff. They had to open and close a cabinet in order to get drinks for guests. Using Untappd as your beer menu does nothing to add value to the experience. Waited almost twos hours for 1 appetizer and a shared meal. Mind you, it was a SLOW Monday night. Pork nachos were so incredibly dry that they were almost inedible. Meat tasted like it was 5 days old with how dry it was. The only moisture on the nachos was from the canned pinto beans. Chicken sandwich had absolutely no flavor and was very dull/dry. Drinks were good, but service was so slow it was hard to order another round. Given how slow the service was and the poor quality of food, very disappointed and will not be returning. read more

Very mediocre food and beer and extremely slow service. Took over 40 minutes to get our food order taken. Food arrived and the child's hotdog meal came with a soggy bun. Adults ordered a Beef on Weck and a duck Reuben. Menu says the horseradish comes on the side of Beef sandwich, but it was smothered in it instead. Sandwich was cold, just was flavorless (imagine broth-colored water) and sandwich overall was under seasoned and bun also came totally soggy. Asked for Dijon and was brought yellow mustard twice. Duck on Reuben was extremely tough, like jerky. One of the beers (spruce tips...) was so bitter it was completely unpalatable. Took over an hour and a half for the entire meal. Only reason this is not a one star review is the waitress was personable, they didn't kill my husband (severe dairy allergy) the kids meals were incredibly inexpensive, and the tots and sweet potato fries were good. We've been going here since day one and have always enjoyed the food and beer. But tonight we had a totally different service experience than ever before and we had to leave even before sitting down. We asked to sit outside as the deck was wide open except for one table. But they tried to sit us on the sidewalk next to three other full high tops. We asked again for the deck and they said their servers "got slammed" last week so they were "alternating the seating". This made no sense because they wanted to sit us next to a lot of already full tables. We came here for a good experience and wanted to sit on the deck (which was available) and not on tiny wobbly tables on the sidewalk. Clearly this was done so the servers didn't have to walk as far. Prioritizing the station assignments of servers over paying customers makes no sense. We left and called from our car to speak with a manager because we wanted someone to know what was happening, but the manager wouldn't get on the phone. We spoke instead to someone who seemed like another server and who offered no apology or solution. We are hoping this message will make its way to the owner. Instead we went to Luna, a new Mexican restaurant in town that was just amazing. Completely opposite experience in terms of service. read more

Update. And not a good one. Unfortunately I have not been happy with this place the past few times I stop in alone or with a group of frIends. We actually all have the same feeling.... "Why do we come here" Review of the food; decent. Depends on what you order though. Brussel sprouts are usually a safe order and always good. Fish tacos, still tasty. BUT something as easy as a grilled chicken Caesar salad. I was beyond disappointed and couldn't even eat it. Set aside the well done chicken breast (and not much of it either) but the dressing. I didn't know Caesar's tasted of too much garlic, I mean so chunky and thick (and I love garlic too. But this way TOO much) and LEMON!!! Why lemon!??? The dressing ruined it. Now let's get to the real reason why this place has gone down hill. THE SERVICE! I mean the bar is right there so why does it take 20 min to even come over and greet us and another 20 min to pour an glass of wine and a beer?!?!?!? All to come over and say "we are out of that" come on! Even when we have a table and a server several of us have to order from the bartender because the waitress is no where in site for days and days. There is one waitress there that has such a pissy attitude too. I mean, know who's paying the bill is all i have to say and don't insult that person and throw them attitude the entire time. Jus sayin'! All in all. If you're in NO HURRY. Stop in. See if they have that you want and sit there and be Ignored and if you don't want a good Caesar order this one. Work on the service! I have been here many times dating back to their opening and I think this is my first review. I'll keep it simple Beer is just ok, never had anything here I would go out of my way to get. They try a lot of styles I'll give credit there. If they have a dark on tap (porter or stout) that will be your best bet. I have had guest beers here or cocktails a lot food is OK dry rub wings are great - there is some connection with Buffalo NY and you can get beef on weck a true gem from that region. I have to admit that I wrote this restaurant off 2-3 times over the last 5 years of living in a nearby town. They could never seem to get their act together. The food and service were always either subpar or "good enough" but it was never a place that you craved coming back to. This weekend the appropriate circumstance arose where we were in the area and needed a quick bite to eat. I remembered seeing they had a new chef so we gave it a shot. I'm glad we made that the decision. The food easily we from a 4 to a 9. I grew up eating steak tips and these tip were simply incredible, perfectly trimmed and marinated. Kudos to the new chef. Also, kudos to our server Kevin. He was clearly in the weeds all afternoon and new to the role but he did his best to make it all work out and keep us happy. Hang in there Kevin, good times will prevail. The bottom line is this area lacks good restaurants and for the first time in 5 years I can honestly say that we'll be back for more at this one. Was not impressed. Came for lunch on a Saturday. And the food was awful. Fish and chips - the fries were over cooked - brown all the way through. The fish was placed on top of the fries. So the burnt fries became soggy. The coleslaw on the side was overly sweet. Fish had absolutely no flavor. The portobello panini. Was also overlooked. The bread was so well done it was like a cracker. The bread snapped when you took a bite. I had wanted the side salad with my sandwich but I was never asked and it came with fries. Just as overdone and burnt as with the fish. No bottled sparkling water available. Maybe if I start drinking again I will come and try the beer. But forget coming here to eat. read more

This brewery has everything a good restaurant should have, good ambiance, outside patio, great beer, unfortunately service and food are sub-par. Waited 40 minutes for a burger and a fish&chips. Burger was tasteless, cold and soggy, fries were limp and barely warm, fish was over cooked and coleslaw was like eating straw... All that for $62. The first time I came here it was a year ago, this spot was hustling and bustling! We sat at the bar and ordered the dry rub wings and tater tots. The wings were moist and delicious. The tots are house made and have cheese mixed into them, so GOOD! We had a couple locally made ciders, it was a blast! Visited again last week and I was super happy we could sit inside (its super socially distanced) because it was a chilly night. They were out of the ciders so we went for some fall themed mixed drinks, they were all very good! Got the wings and tots again, they were both delicious just like last time however I swear the wings had a sweet glaze and the dry rub on top of it, they were still great even tho they weren't how I remembered. I am so sad to have to provide such a poor review. We want to like this place. The first time we came over a year ago we loved it actually. But it's beyond bad now. This isn't based on one visit-- We have now had four bad experiences in a row and will never go back. To start with the positive, the space is beautiful. The service is friendly. Sadly it is friendly but incompetent. As many other reviewers have said, this isn't a staffing shortage issue it's a management issue. But without a doubt the biggest issue is that the food is truly poor. Beyond poor. I just had a chicken sandwich that was totally burnt. Salads are always soggy. The kids menu came with "crudités" -- I assumed carrot sticks and is was sliced tomatoes that were not even ripe!! I could go on but suffice it say that over four visits and eight entrees nothing was good at all. The menu changes every time we go but nothing improves. If I could speak to the management please, please raise your standards and start serving decent food. So much potential and such disappointing results. We'd love to come back if the management and approach changes but until then I can only urge people to stay away. Maybe they will still get it together... read more

We had our baby shower here and I cannot say enough good things about our experience. Julia and her team were wonderful! She worked with us on a custom mocktail menu and the bar staff were amazing; especially Brendan who was super personable and made both a mean cocktail/mocktail and beer recommendation. Chef Jon and his food are both amazing, I had people coming up to me days afterwards raving about our menu and how delicious everything was. He also accommodated my last-minute request to note all the options that were gluten-free so our guests with dietary restrictions could be comfortable too. They fully rearranged the event space to suit our needs and left a time buffer to make sure our breakdown was as chill as possible. They also had a table in back room/speakeasy event space to have a Bluey break room for the younger kiddos when they needed it. We will definitely be back and bring our kiddo with us when we do! read more

My husband and I went here for lunch last weekend to meet some of our family. My mom was really excited for the beef on Weck because she grew up visiting, upstate New York a lot so it is nostalgic for her. There were seven of us, and four of us ordered the beef on Weck. Not ONE of them actually ate it because the sandwich was so gross. The buns looked amazing, but the inside of the sandwich looked like chopped up roast beef mixed with some sort of cheesy horseradish mayo . The ratio looked like it was one part meat : four parts cheesy mayo. Just a slimey sloppy mess. Our waitress poured 2 of us cold watery coffee. I did have an excellent bloody Mary and my husband really enjoyed the New England style IPA. I had a garden salad with salmon, and the salmon did not taste old, but it did taste Cheap... It had a weird tangy fishy taste to it, if that makes sense. We loved the pretzel appetizer but the buffalo cauliflower got mixed reviews. Didn't want to wait 50 minutes at a larger chain restaurant a few miles away and gave True West a try. Very happy we did. Beer flight was 6 beers! Had some unique apps, dishes and specials on the menu. We got the steak tips, burger, hot honey chicken sandwich and the Bangkok Street Noodles. All were tasty! Service was excellent. True West has risen to the occasion! We couldn't have felt safer or had a better experience outdoor dining. In case you didn't know there is a "secret" back deck. The back deck has 4-5 tables with generous spacing. More importantly there are newly installed heaters in the ceiling over every table. The night we ate the temperature was 39 degrees and we were more than comfortable in jeans and jackets. If you've driven by you know that there are more than enough heaters in the front as well. In terms of the food - it is top notch. The burger is expertly cooked and TW is one of the few places around that still makes the crinkle fries (although tots are also a great option.) The pretzel with beer cheese makes an amazing starter, just leave room for your main course. We saw the schnitzel come out while we were dining - looked fantastic! Without a doubt there is a beer to pair with anything you order. Highly recommend as a local business who is making it safe for all of their patrons! read more

Waste of a babysitter. Service was slow. No - this wasn't a staffing shortage. There were about 7-8 employees standing inside laughing and talking. It took 20-25 minutes for a beer to arrive after ordering. Another half hour for the food to hit the table. Fish tacos were cold, seasoningless fish with blobs of mayo on an old tortilla and limp lettuce. I ate one, abandoned the other two. Beer was alright - but there was nothing on tap they actually brewed there themself...hardly a brewery. We would have ordered more drinks, but too much time passed between visits to our table. The last review should have posted a week ago, but I'm now a regular. Tonight's meal was just as delicious, but so much more sophisticated: My son had the Steak Frites. He said mmm good but he couldn't say more with his mouth full, devouring every last bite. My daughter, a burger fan, opted for the Veggie Burger. She said it taste like a burger only better. "And not like a you know....veggie burger". I had the Risotto on the gluten free menu and it was by far the best Risotto I've ever had, even before my gluten free days. Good, fun atmosphere in the bar area with high tops, we sat in the dining room which was a bit less vibrant but still good. Home brewed beer menu was more than solid and options for every taste bud. Good Buffalo Wings and the Fried Cauliflower had some heat but was good. The dinner salads we had came with extremely small portions and was underwhelming on the listed ingredients. The Fall Waldorf Salad ($14) was less filling than the house salad at the Outback. A disappointment for sure but the grilled salmon that was added was cooked great and tasty. I love this place! We accidentally found this place after a Google search for a place for lunch after apple picking down the road. The brewery/restaurant is very kids friendly! Each child is presented with an activity that keeps them busy and there's also a section with books etc. The beer selection was pretty good and a few of us took part in the flights. My raspberry mule was delicious and I couldn't resist but order another one. Our server was super friendly and patient as we looked through the menu and drink specials. For appetizer, we shared the bacon wrapped dates, buffalo wings and pretzels. For lunch, the burgers and fish tacos were delicious. The margarita pizza was not what I expected. I thought of something with less cheese and topped with fresh basil basil that was not the case. Tip: try the tator tots. are amazing! they are robust and full of flavor. I was super excited to try this place. I love supporting small local restaurants, and their menu looked great! I met my friend on a Tuesday night and we made a reservation for 6 PM. We walked in, and the hostess was okay. Not overly friendly but it's Covid, I get it. It's a pain to wear a mask all shift. Totally understand. They sat us within 5 minutes. It took about 10 minutes for anyone to come over. Out waitress was so quiet we could barely hear her. We ordered 2 drinks, and it came out 30 minutes later. We didn't get our food (salad and tacos) until 7:40! We just could not believe how long everything took. It wasn't busy, and no one ever came over to check in or apologize for the delay. I understand it's Covid and I'm sure everything isn't up to par, but it's going to be hard to want to go back because of the service.
