This little spot opened up in November 2022 and I'm so glad something opened for coffee around here. The commuter train is a few steps away and I don't doubt they get a lot of that business now. They have breakfast all day, lunch items and I'm not sure if they are open later? You can buy whole bean coffee/tea The coffee drinks are made well and they have a lot of flavorings to put in your drinks. Yes you can get an iced tea. Staff & owner(s) seem to be in hand and are helpful and friendly. The inside is warm and welcoming and they have additional seating in the other area as well and outdoor as well. Prices are fare and basically what you would spend at a Starbucks. Support a local place instead. It's worth a visit.

New York steak with locally sourced mushrooms

First impressions were a small, quiet, upscale, pub with a comfortable vibe. It was very comfortable, a hint of incense as we entered made me realise this was something different. We picked a table in the back as a duet was setting up (more later), and were greeted by a smile from the server who brought menus and took drinks orders. I picked a shandy on tap (delicious), my wife had a 4 Roses and coke, our friend had a glass of wine. Then I noticed signs for infused spirits, done in house. I had a vanilla and honey bourbon after dinner that was really nice, but want to go back try the habanero tequila. For starters we had a plate of crispy pot stickers served with a nice dipping sauce with kick. We all had the corn chowder, that gets a big recommendation from me ... delicious. I was torn on dinner because the menu has a lot of choices; small plates, "sammichs", poutine-style, and large plates. I went with the New York steak and chose local mushrooms rather than veg and it was worth every penny. My wife had the short rib poutine, I stole a cheese curd with some sauce from the ribs and YUM! Dessert was a custard dishes. Mine has an espresso liqueur, while my wife's had strawberries. Served in large champagne glasses, these looked like cocktails and were a perfect way to have a light but flavourful dessert Our server was terrific. Friendly, willing to make suggestions, and answered questions about the menu items. She was attentive without hovering and made us feel very comfortable. The bartender, (Markoh perhaps?) was friendly and kept an eye on everything. Drinks were solid and reasonably priced. Oh the duet. I am not a fan of live music while I dine in general as it tends to be played too loud. BUT, the music was at a reasonable level so we could enjoy it and still have a conversation. The guys were really good, played and sang well, and were joined on some songs by a young lady with a nice voice as well. We will be back.

This is a new place in Ayer, brought to us from the Markoh "dynasty" of restaurants. And what a welcome business! They offer a varied menu (pastries, breakfast sandwiches and standards like biscuits and gravy, plus lunch sandwiches and burgers) along with delicious coffee and a comfortable seating area. I'm all about the "vibe" when I select my cafes and this one was right on the money as a place where I could feel comfortable and linger. Speaking of money: the prices are reasonable, which doesn't happen often in Massachusetts. And with a location near the commuter train, they offer a great chance to grab that last-minute coffee and snack before boarding.

I don't usually write reviews but this place deserves it!My friend and I were starving so we chose the closest place to us. The staff there was awesome, atmosphere and music was great, the food was tasty and well priced. A very pleasant surprise for two people picking a random restaurant! I would highly recommend this place and will be back!

Great food, cold beer. Plus $5.00 deal. We paid buffalo wings and fries no more than $10. The best part about this place is the customer service the managers are extremely hands on. I love this place !

We went for a family lunch and were met with kind service and deliciously fresh options. The cornbread with maple butter was a great starter alongside the Crab Dip that was loaded with fresh cheese and crab meat. Our steaks were all cooked well and definitely priced very fairly for a farm-to-table type of restaurant... we've paid a lot more for a lot worse! The flavors were all pretty hit or miss with the bone marrow butter packing a flavorful punch on our filets but the chicken pot pie missing a little more savoriness that were no stranger in the crab dip and butters. The steak and sunnies was a fun breakfast take on steak, eggs, and potatoes. The seasoning on the eggs and crunch on the potatoes left the best impression. And for dessert, our kid's chocolate chip cookie was a little hard, almost refrigerated? Had it tasted and felt a little fresher, we might've followed up with some milk and cookies for the rest of us. Overall the ambience and service made the experience meet exactly what we were looking for when making a reservation here for our family lunch. There were definitely some opportunities to really take it to the next level, but overall, we were very satisfied with our lunch and would definitely recommend for a nice countryside atmosphere to celebrate at.

My biggest wish is that the menu changed up a bit more. Every time I go, it feels very similar, and I often find myself struggling to find something that truly stands out or excites me. The food is good, just not particularly memorable. That said, the service is consistently good and it's still a nice place to meet up or go for a casual night out. I'd love to see some fresher or more creative menu rotations in the future because the setting definitely deserves it.

And if it has premium beef and isn't yet another smashburger (I like them, but enough already), best scenario yet. Forge & Vine Cheeseburger: The burger here was fantastic. Most importantly, the beef brought flavor-- very enjoyable. Crusting was solid, though there could have been a bit more-- and perhaps a bit more seasoning. But no issues with the flavor, and the interior was a perfect medium rare with juices aplenty. The challah-like bun-- with appropriate size, volume, and density-- also brought some flavor: a pleasant slight sweetness. Cheese got the right melt, tomatoes were very fresh, and the other ingredients all worked in harmony. Tallow Fries: Included with the cheeseburger, these had both crispness and give, with a moist, fatty lubricant to aid the texture and flavor. Salting was on point. And plenty of them. All this for $24 might seem steep, but in today's economy, where it'll run you nearly $20 for a burger and fries at Five Guys, I'm all for paying a few extra bucks for the extra quality. And the space itself is pretty impressive too, from the high ceilings to the wood to the open kitchen to the view of farmland out back. Service was good too: efficient and friendly. Planning to return to try other items and post another review.

Their huge 275-seat event space was packed at tables for 4 to 8, for the two 1-hour sets of Live Dead & Brothers Band, an Allman Brothers - Grateful Dead group of legacy musicians from those bands and families!!! An authentic rockin' performance! They opened hot, with Feelin' Alright and Truckin', and ended hot with Midnight Rider, Ramblin' Man, and Jessica, with around 14 more between. The acoustics were excellent at our table, and we also took up our share of the crowded dance area :-) Their tour continues at least through Dec 2026. Our tickets were about $50 each. Service was fast and friendly, and they let us pull up one more chair for our group of nine. You can get crafted beers and cocktails. We settled in with ice cold regional beers, which honestly are just as distinctive as fancy craft beers. We got some food to share off their "concert menu", too. An entrée-size dish of rich creamy homemade Mac & Cheese, made with tasty aged Grafton Cheddar, soft slightly-al-dente curly Cavatappi pasta tubes, not-overcooked green beans, as i recall, crisply crusted with lightly-maple breadcrumbs. Very flavorful and satisfying. A sweet fresh bright Autumn Salad of greens, pecans, and bright beets, in tart vinaigrette. And juicy "Bull Run Classic" burgers with crisp lettuce, tasty firm tomato, mildly-sharp red onion, and, for one of them, an add-on of rich cheddar, all on a cloud-like brioche bun. They do ask for $20 per person food/beverage minimum for all shows, essentially an entree or a couple beverages each. That's about what we had planned to order anyway :-) This place knocked us out with their dedication to farm-to-table ingredients, sourced from more than 25 regional farms named on the dinner menu. We've never seem such an extensive list of the actual sources. Very cool! The Bull Run has been a tavern since 1741, named after the Battle of Bull Run in 1861, (or in another version, named for a brawl in the tavern at the same time :-), and has been run by the Guercios extended-family since 1946. It was a stop on the stagecoach route and a gathering place for the Revolutionary war. We loved the original wood, structure, and décor. The fireplaces were lovely. It's a huge venue. Bull Run has live music every week, and they're open Wed-Sun, but watch their schedule because dates vary, sometimes one day that week, sometimes all four! This show was in their 275-seat room. There's at least one larger room for around 400. Theres a little parking along Rt 2A, and much more out back across the covered bridge. Dont be put off by the rustic exterior.
