Found this place accidentally. We were hungry RIGHT NOW. We lunched on salads at the bar. Salads large fresh and delicious. Especially liked the large serving of avocado and hummus on my green salad. Service very good. Highly recommend and would go again. read more

Casual pub atmosphere with good food and outside seating on a beautiful day, Overlooking a golf course. Sounds good to me.

Small-ish outfit near the golf course with about a dozen tables and a long bar with a few TV screens. Beer selections are minimal but just varied enough that you'll find something to your liking, whether mainstream or craft. The food menu is much deeper, nailing most of the pub food classics. As a burgers and wings guy, that was my focus, but there's enough greenery to satisfy my vegetarian wife too. GPH Burger: A well sourced blend, made into a patty of good thickness, grilled over an open flame, and housed in a potato bun with a generous allotment of toppings. Beautiful presentation, and most importantly, the flavor of the beef came through, never getting lost. You can order pink or no pink; I went pink, and on my first visit they nailed the temperature, color, and juiciness to go along with the crusty exterior. Good seasoning, and very enjoyable grill flavor. One of the best burgers I've had this year. Tried it again on a second visit, again requesting pink, but: a) not pink or juicy, and b) no flame grill flavor. Still a decent burger-- mostly because the addition of some nicely chewy and very strongly cured bacon picked up some of the slack. Third try, a repeat of the first, so two out of three ain't bad. Smashburger: Solid enough, though not as pronounced of surface crispness as a proper smashburger. Fries: Hand-cut, plentiful, dark, crispy, and just droopy enough. There's no salt on the table, but these were salted perfectly. Ketchup is an off brand, with a little more tartness than the standard, but it worked fine. Onion Rings: The thick ring, thick batter kind, and very crunchy. All depends on whether you like that style. Hot Dog: The menu lists them with fries included, but if you're already getting a burger, you can add one on without getting the extra fries. Toasted New England flat-sided bun, very juicy, grilled wiener, and toppings you can choose. Chili is a $3 add-on, but note there are beans included. I enjoyed mine and would get it again without the chili. Wings: Went Buffalo once, somewhat crisp, somewhat tender, nice sauce, with spices and seasonings, but not what I'd call Buffalo and not much coverage. These are baked, then fried, so missing a little something.went sweet chili on the next visit, and these were closer to the listed flavor and a little closer to wings that quench a wings craving. read more

This is the best neighborhood restaurant I have ever lived near. We go twice a month. The atmosphere is chill and comfortable. The food is always excellent. You need to have the truffle fries. Prices are reasonable. The bartenders are all great. Service spot on. They have a great redone outside patio. Enjoy! read more

I've passed this place 100 times over the years, but finally went in. I was certainly missing out. Absolutely fast and friendly service. The food is tremendous. Very cozy bar area definitely will be back. Not a ton of seating, but it works for this area. Great place to grab drinks after work or just a quick bite to eat read more

Good food, Good Service, never overly busy, and the price is reasonable. Not a great place for a date night but anything less its a nice spot. Also a good place to watch sports if thats your thing. read more

Exceptional food, staff attention to detail, owners' hands-on presence, prices spot-on make this spot a great place to enjoy lunch or dinner. Plenty of outside seating & parking next to the golf course. read more

There aren't a ton of options in this area, so we tried this place. It was pretty good, and I can tell it's a local favorite as there were lots of people that knew the servers. Decent selection of draft beers and it mostly consists of typical bar fare. I just thought the burger was ok, but the fries were pretty tasty. read more

well this place has been here for a while with some different titles, next to the local golf course, not to big, bar and seating and an outside dining area also....ate at the bar which became sort of packed, actually it got pretty busy here so popular locally, drinks were interesting and good, food was very good, we had a nice salad and the fish and chips and enjoyed both, both a little pricey but that seems hard to escape these days, service was pleasant, place got very noisy. but we enjoyed the meal.... read more

Nice and clean pub atmosphere on a golf course. Every server was pleasant. Fish and chips were tasty but felt at least $5 too much for the portion. Hand cut fries are very good and drinks were sizable. Would recommend. read more

Great lunch today!! Had the house smash burger, fries and a blood orange margarita. So, I am the pickiest person when it comes to margarita's, really only like my own. The one I had here was the best margarita I've ever had. The burger was perfection. Hand cut fries, the best. I'm a total snob foodie, this place is awesome! read more

Great place to grab a bite after swimming/golfing! They have a great to go system and servers are always so friendly and helpful (even to lively children!) good outdoor seating under a tent for larger groups and shaded patio for smaller groups. Indoor dining is more like a sports bar/pub. Food is awesome-large portions for what you're spending. Would honestly say everything there is tasty but the nachos, pretzel bites and fries are a 10/10. Have been there about a million times and will keep showing up! read more

We have been to Groton Publick House many times before and have always enjoyed both the food and the service, which makes this experience especially disappointing. I would normally not leave a review like this, but the experience for so terrible I couldn't not say anything. On Saturday evening at 5pm, our group of six arrived and ordered drinks, appetizers, and entrées right away to make things easier for the server. Unfortunately, in the hour and a half we sat there, the only thing we received was our first round of drinks. Meanwhile, we watched other tables who arrived after us be served both their appetizers and entrées while we were still waiting. What made the situation worse was that our server never once came by to check in, refill drinks, or even acknowledge the delay. After waiting far too long with no updates, we finally gave up, paid for our drinks, and left. We've always liked this restaurant in the past, but this experience was very disappointing. We truly hope it was just an off night, but the lack of communication and attentiveness left us feeling let down. read more

Very nice place! Definitely a high end date night with the lady! Food is fantastic, cocktails are well prepared. I would recommend this place for a banner evening! read more

Went there and didn't golf! Apparently the foodies do too. Had the pulled pork tacos. Best tacos I've ever had. Watch out the full size I'd for a large crowd. Guacamole was excellent and meats smoked there. Beer choices were excellent, good bar. The wait staff is amazing and makes this little place enjoyable. Not much atmosphere, but if you need any the front deck is open and the service is just as good there. Everything we ordered was great. My expectations were low given it looks like the country club snack shack from the outside. But sit down and enjoy the food and service and the rest falls away! read more

We've been coming to the GPK since opening day. The atmosphere is small, quaint, and appealing to those who prefer a laid-back scene. That said don't be afraid to step in to watch the game or a game, GPK is equally welcoming to those who enjoy a good sports event. People often ask why I give five-star ratings to places like GPK, and it's because I compare it to other local hot spots. Bottom line, locally, you cannot beat the food, ambiance, and local charm of Groton. Golfers, play a round of golf and enjoy a drink with your fellow players at GPK. GPKs apps are spot on, especially the nachos, nom nom nom. One thing to keep in mind as well, GPKs build your burger is worth everything thing you add to it, no lie. Finally, be nice to the staff, they deserve much more than we ultimately give them, and respect goes a long way. read more

Great nachos and drinks! Good, fast service. Will be back in the summer and expect it'll be much more crowded.

Have dined in and ordered out many times. Recently ordered off their catering menu. Everything is always delicious.

Nice variety and tasty food all around. Great variety of New England brewed beers to top it off. Great and friendly service

Delicious Cobb salad with blackened chicken! I sat at the bar watching golf and the Red Sox game escaping the heat for a short time. The ambiance was welcoming! My club soda was filled 3x- the service was quick and my server was friendly! I will definitely return! read more

Great food and a nice relaxing atmosphere. We will definitely return and recommend to friends.

A fun spot, great staff. My prior post was based on my personal issues at the time and I was wrong. This place is a go to, I just visited again and the staff , courtesy, food and fun was as good as I remembered. Definitely a nice place for a beer, food and I see families here as well. read more

Discovered this place while house hunting in the area. It was very lively on a Sunday afternoon!! That said, service was quick and friendly. I had the pulled pork sandwich and my partner had the chicken sandwich. Both were really good! Portions were very satisfying. It's a popular local spot and after trying the food - I can see why! read more

4, count 'em, FOUR BIG SCREEN TVs!!! with FOOTBALL, so you can watch at LEAST 2 different games, or even 4 different GAMES, if you are so inclined!!! The STAFF is awesome, bringing everything ordered promptly. The Fish & Chips were hot and delicious and HUMONGOUS! The Baked Haddock was tender & delicious as well. There were 6 beers on tap, and some unusual canned beers; we couldn't sample too many, or I wouldn't be able to write this review? Really good spot and, last but not least, would you believe it's really located on LOVERS LANE??? read more

The food and drinks are exceptional!!! The staff is very friendly and fun! Highly recommended going there!

Get the nachos. You won't be disappointed. The personal one easily feeds two people. And there's 2 sizes larger than that. So bring an appetite. read more

Terrible management and absolutely no apology or discount for their fire alarm going off, not once but twice, inches from our family. We had to evacuate the building the first time and the staff didn't even acknowledge it. After my son and I had to run out of the building to escape the sound of the fire alarm being inches from our table for the 2nd time, I found out my husband paid full price for the "experience". After speaking to a staff member who answered the phone, she informed me that it wasn't their fault and that it was the town of Groton's fault...? She also went on to say that "if she comped everyone's lunch that they wouldn't make any money today." Not the brightest and no customer service skills. Patrons should have been both apologized to AND had their bills discounted for the inconvenience. It's proper etiquette. We should not have had to pay full price for that meal as stressful and inconvenient as it was. My toddler shouldn't have been inches from an extremely loud alarm no matter where he is seated. Horrible experience with no concern from staff. Unfortunately it isn't our first bad experience at GPH and my family is never going back. read more

Cobb SaladLove so many things about this place, the food is excellent, the drinks are really great and the servers are awesome....but the LOUDNESS is just awful! The crowd noise mixed with the blaring music is overwhelming! The tiny acoustic tiles do nothing to combat the noise. This needs to be addressed as this is not the first review to point out this one negative in what is otherwise the best dining experience in the area! read more

Great place to catch a bite! Had a super friendly server and the food was reasonable priced

A hidden little gem of a place. Excellent food, nice selection of beers on tap, and an awesome, friendly staff. Hub and I went for lunch on a recent snowy Saturday. When we arrived there were a couple of patrons in the dining area and at the bar. As we ordered, and then ate, the place filled with diners. Groton Public House is a good bet for a tasty meal and a frosty draft beer! read more

Groton Public House never dissapoints with the quality of the food. Our family has gone here way too many times to count and the food is consistently good, as seen by the pictures. I've had the opportunity to meet the owners too and there's nothing better than supporting local businesses who live in town. The service like most establishments has been somewhat impacted by the times, but so has everywhere. All in all it's a hidden gem, or not hidden at this point and we will continue to go for the great food, reasonable prices and overall great experience. read more

After a round of golf at another course I will not name due to a bad experience, my brother and I needed a bite to eat. I found Groton Publick House via Yelp and just 4 miles away thought we'd give it a shot. It was mid-afternoon on a Thursday and the pub was empty. Sitting at the bar another patron came up to the bar and seeing us looking over the sparse menu over he volunteered recommending the burgers claiming they were the best. We took his advise. I went with a bacon burger with cheddar and the standard lettuce, tomato, onion with mayo and ketchup. I don't think it was the best burger I ever had but was definitely in the top percentile. The burger was perfectly cooked to my medium well liking and still juicy. The condiments and buns were fresh. It was a darn good burger. The truffle fries were a great tasty add. My brother enjoyed his burger as well and his side of sweet potato fries. Service was spot on, but then again it was just the two of us. We both left very happy. I recommend and do try their burgers. read more

Yes yes yes and their new menu is great. Love their burger, love their chicken sandwich and the location is very cool. Worth a trip to Groton (check out Johnson's on the way home for ice cream). Family run, great drinks and good spot to watch a game or to go after the kids get done with sports. We love the nachos. Dog friendly outside Bring back the Asian chop salad! read more

My husband and I used to come here this was the Groton Tavern. We loved it then. Now, not so much. I can't say anything about the food, however, I can speak on the service and LOUDNESS. Seriously....my husband, and I went with another couple last Friday night and we couldn't even hear ourselves! There wasn't even music happening....only people! My thing with loudness is there are ways to combat it...it's called acoustic tiles!!! Put them on the wall/ceiling and you have a fix! Makes things nicer for guests. :) They only had 2 servers on and they were covering both the bar and tables! While I felt bad for them, it felt like we were there forever. They may want to hire a bartender or 2 on busy nights? Once we got the check, we headed to another place for drinks and food. If they take care of the noise level and get more help, we might go back, but for now, it's a no go. read more

First time and so pleased!!! Checked all the boxes..... Clean, good lighting, cool music, good service and of course great food!!

Great local pub like place for really good food. Wings are awesome and presented really well on a tray with tasty ranch. Ruben is amazing. Great ingredients clearly show through. Server was very friendly but probably need one more person as lunch crowd really was a lot for her. Interior is nicely done however the main 4 tables are just inside the door and could use a half wall to make it less like you are eating in the doorway. Will be back to try the nachos that were huge and very tasty looking. read more
