I had dinner at Luccas American Kitchen last night with my wife and two friends, and I felt compelled to finally write a review because the entire evening was simply spectacular. I ordered the Swordfish Special, which was served with shrimp, risotto, and a light sauce that was a beautiful blend of Provençal and scampi influences. The swordfish was cooked perfectly, and the combination of the fish, shrimp, risotto, and delicate sauce was outstanding. It was flavorful and satisfying while still being a wonderfully light dish. One of our friends had never tried swordfish before and ordered the same dish. Needless to say, they are now officially "hooked!" The Korean Short Rib entrée was also excellent, with just the right amount of spice and tremendous flavor. My wife ordered the Fried Whole Belly Clams, which she absolutely loved. And the experience didn't stop with the food. The bar staff were top-notch--knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely enjoyable to interact with. Great service can make a good meal memorable, and the team at Luccas certainly did that last night. I have been to Luccas several times and have always had great experiences. Last night, however, was one of those evenings where everything came together--the food, the service, the atmosphere, and the company. Congratulations to the entire Luccas team. Last week in MA, someone told us to check out Luccas, and I'm so glad we did! It's a really cool spot with super friendly staff. Our server Jane was awesome. The food was delicious! My wife and I loved the calamari. Our boys went crazy for the mac & cheese and cheeseburger--they gave everything two thumbs up. My wife enjoyed her seafood risotto. My chicken parm was huge--plenty to take home for leftovers, which I was happy about. It was tasty, though a little saucier than I like, but I managed! We'll definitely come back next time we're in town! read more

Have been here a number of time since our first visit. Seafood Risotto is always one of our selections. Of late, their delicious Veal Parmesan has been the other. Have yet to have room for dessert. Luccas has a great vibe. It doesn't sot roadside under a huge sign and almost feels like a place you have to go looking for to find. Inside, it is lively, inviting, and has great energy. We have been trying for several months to try Luccas. A Tuesday night was the perfect time. Don't get me wrong it was still packed but we found a parking spot and a table. Inside has a city vibe with brick walls. Bar stools look super comfy. After placing our order, chicken parmesan and chicken fried chicken (chicken supreme), we were given warm bread knots that were delicious. I had the house infused blueberry vodka with lemonade and my husband had his usual, Titos & tonic. For dessert we split chocolate + white chocolate mousse cake. I am from Leominster (50 years) and I sadly report to you that we never made it to the table! I know the food is good, but please, we encountered a seriously rude staff as we were being seated! I asked for a particular seat (at 1:30 pm) for lunch, instead the young waitress threw a couple of menus on a table by the door and started to walk away. I told her I wanted to sit at the table I had previously indicated. As I walked towards the table , I was confronted with the next rude awakening, another hostile waitress! " she accused me of swearing as I walked by ( I actually said "I want to sit where I want". She misinterpreted it as swearing , to no one in particular, I might add. I then waved to my wife that we were leaving, when we received the ultimate send-off - "That's a Great Idea!" I wouldn't spend a nickel in that place. read more

The food is five stars, the ambiance (noise) drops it a star. The food is fresh, homemade and incredibly delicious. While things a temporary location (a couple years until the new building is up) it is incredibly loud. There will be a wait because the food is so good, but you won't be able to have a conversation due to the acoustics of a large room with a lot of people in it. read more

Service - some of the best interactions I have had recently. I travel a lot for work and the waitress as well as waitress/receptionist/owner were friendly, efficient, and superb from start to finish. Food - also excellent as everyone had excellent comments about the food taste, presentation, and quantity. Highly recommend the chicken wing appetizer as well as the eggplant stack appetizer. Got there for dinner mid-week. We were early and quickly seated. The place definitely filled up though and by 5:30/6:00 pm, there was a small wait. Every service person was friendly and helpful and very efficient. Food is uniformly terrific -- never had a mediocre meal and everyone at this dinner (6 of us) were very pleased, including the desserts. The restaurant would do well to add some tapestries or draping to absorb some of the sound bounce off the brick and floors as it is difficult to hear the wait staff (specials, etc) as well as enjoy the conversation across the table. Otherwise, this place continues to impress. Lucas American Kitchen is terrific. We were there on Saturday afternoon with my husband's family (party of 7). There were a variety of dishes ordered from the steak salad to mac and cheese to a special of a pulled pork sandwich and everyone enjoyed their meal. The highest recommendation though came from my husband who loves Reubens and said this was in his top 3. Service was great and the prices are super reasonable. The only negatives are that it can be a little loud (but it was not a problem for us) and they do not take reservations at all. Don't miss this place! read more

We Had lunch today, Corned beef Rubin, and a Fish & Chips, I enjoyed the sandwich alot. Good amount of meat nice marbled rye, swiss cheese, dressing and the perfect amount of sauerkraut. Yes!!!!! So glad they are back. Only being back in MA. for 2 weeks I couldn't go back home to Utah without stopping in and saying hi to Emily and Jody. The food is still excellent and the people are so friendly. I got the steak tip salad which is a huge portion and loved it. The garlic bread rolls are still out of this world. I got there around 5:30 on a Friday night and it was already packed. Looking around you could tell that everyone is happy John's back and cooking delicious food. Leominster needs Luccas!! Luccas will definitely be on my go to restaurant list when I come back. read more

We're all sorry about the fire, and glad they're recovering but the latest iteration at the new location is way beneath previous standards. Overpriced entrees that are mediocre at best, friendly but slow service and lousy parking/location. They've had plenty of time to work out the kinks but will try again in a year or so. read more

Arrived on a Friday evening at 5:10pm. The restaurant was already busy and abuzz with diners. We had a large party of 10 and had to wait 20 minutes to be seated, but no worries as our party members arrived staggeringly. Plan ahead they don't take reservations and this restaurant is popular. They also ask patrons to respect their 2 hour (gentle) turnover policy, so that they can service more patrons. This was a first time visit and I was quite impressed. Atmosphere is casual with large bar in middle of the dining room which was busy and full and new patrons lined up to wait their turn for a seat at the bar. Great choice of beers, but not overwhelming. We had a great waitress that answered everyone's questions with patience. Food was fresh , hot and delicious. The fish and chips were awesome crunchy batter with delicate sweet haddock moistly cooked to perfection. Did I say served piping hot! The French fries were whimsically served in a brown paper lunch bag.! Great idea. My wife enjoyed the short rib special. My brother in law had the chicken parm which was of ridiculous portion. We all had a great time and all enjoyed the great food. We will definitely return. read more

"Dicey" Wanted to love it but unfortunately did not. Parking is a headache - which I understand they only have so much control over. Terrible getting in and out. Upon entrance, nostrils inundated with an unpleasant seafood smell. I understand that seafood is on the menu, but this was not a fresh smell. Seated quickly but our waitress was not personable and had an aggressive demeanor - we felt as if we were being barked at the entire time. Appetizer plates not removed when entree plates brought leaving no room at the table, and then when she did take plates she took food we were still eating without even asking. Food was under seasoned. Left much to be desired even when adding salt and pepper at the table. No robust flavors. To top it off - as we scooped a mussel out of the scant amount of broth it was served in, there was a long hair embedded between the two mussel shells. As we pulled the hair, it un-wove from where it was intertwined in our food. Rather than make a big deal about it, when a woman - whom I presume is some sort of management though she never introduced herself so really, can't say - asked about our meal we quietly informed her there was a hair in our food. She picked it up and surveyed us both and states "hmmm dicey" to which we were confused. She was adamant there was no way this came from her kitchen staff "since they rinse the mussels" but I'm safely assuming that nobody at the table was intertwining their hair into mussel shells at the bottom of our bowl. While this dish was comped from our bill (which we appreciate), the overall experience left much to be desired and I could have made this same food for a fraction of the cost with more flavor and less of somebody else's body in it. read more

Bar area is nice but stools are like oversized chairs which are comfy but a little to short making the bar an awkward height to sit at. Felt like I needed a booster seat! Bar staff were excellent- attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. The Salmon Rizotto was good but lacking flavor- can't pinpoint what but something, just bland. Bread served with the meal (garlic knots I think they're called) were delicious! I will be back! read more
