I have been waiting to eat here and it did not disappoint. Great Burgers that are reasonably priced. The burgers were great and I really loved the buns. The waffle fries are honestly amazing! They are so crispy it's almost like a potato chip on the outside but soft on the inside. I recommend dipping in ranch. The poke Nachos were super good. I wish they gave more chips because they give a lot of the poke guacamole dip. It comes with loads of poke! The Brussel sprouts are solid but at a $5 price point they get pushed up to really good. The signature 8 beer is really good. Being German I consider myself knowledgeable and this was a light beer but it had a really full body with no lingering aftertaste that so many light beers have. Just a little pricey I thought I was at the ball park for the price. Can I suggest $8? Lol the staff was really friendly and the venue is pretty cool. Ok, I'm a Dallas Cowboys and a Troy fan. We flew out to Dallas from California to attend a game and to go to Troy's restaurant, Having said that. I would have given 5 Stars but only gave them 4: Because there was a Two hour wait for a table for dinner which was ridiculous. Once we did get sitted , we ordered the wings which were were absolutely delicious. Mollie our server was good. Great live band and clean restrooms. But the outside bar (Adam, Donte and Sara) were phenomenal. They made us feel like long time friends. Not pushy, no sales just Relaxing and Enjoyable conversation. I know the menu is limited but you'd think that would mean that the quality would be decent. the grain and greens salad was really odd, had bits of raw carrots in it and large chunks of green onion, and was missing the Brussel sprouts that are listed in the description. When all this COVID business is over and we have it under control, what a great place to visit on game days or juts to watch any game if the Rangers or Cowboys are out of town. Great game day location as long as you understand that you will pay $35 for parking. The assumption is that you are paying to park for the game anyway. This restaurant is just outside of the new Ranger's stadium. The restaurant does a good job with burgers and fries but should stay away from salads. Troy, my wife and I have been a big fans for a long time, so my wife, my stepson, my stepdaughter, and I were all on board when she suggested visiting your restaurant on Saturday, May 25 after a trip to Six Flags. What started out very well became and all out disaster, and I hope my review will help things improve. First the good. The restaurant and entire facility are beautiful, and it looks like a great place to hang out, enjoy a few drinks, listen to good live music, and have a great evening. Everything has a fun air, though I'll have to admit, I don't understand why it was designed so your wait staff have to walk up a ramp and down a walkway to get to the booths on the inside wall. We were greeted by our waitress, Brittany, fairly quickly, and we received our drink orders in good time. Unfortunately, the first of many mistakes were made. Instead of the Revolver Hop Device Hazy IPA and water I ordered, I got the Leinenkugel Summer Shandy and no water. My wife and two kids got their drink orders, so I decided to let that one go. We ordered the Creamy Spinach and Artichoke Dip and the Cuban Quesadillas for appetizers. Both were excellent! I especially enjoyed the sauce for the Cuban, as it gave it a nice bite. My stepson and stepdaughter (though not kids as both are over 21) ordered cheeseburgers, I ordered the Tuna burger, and my wife ordered the Southwest Chicken Flatbread. Everything was delivered to the table in good time, but there were problems with everything. The Tuna Burger needs to seriously be rethought. The tuna was small and bland (needed seasoning badly), the onion ring unnecessary, and there was so much pickled ginger it overpowered the taste of everything else. Take it off the bun, serve it open-faced, something, so you can actually enjoy good tuna. The Southwest Chicken Flatbread tasted good, but the crust was doughy, under-cooked, and soggy. Two or three more minutes in the oven would have made worlds of difference in this dish. My stepson and stepdaughter ordered burgers, cooked medium. What came out could easily be confused with charcoal. Patties were dry, overcooked (even for well-done), and charred on the outside. He tried and managed to choke down almost half of his, but she could only eat one bite it was so dry. While we dealt with the other mistakes, we decided to send these back and have them redone. Unfortunately, we had to wait 10 minutes or more for our waitress to check on us again. In all honesty, I'm not sure what happened next, as I asked the waitress to have these recooked. Someone at the table suggested we could take them home, so maybe she got confused. Her response was to bring us no new burgers, but to-go boxes, and she said she would talk to the manager. The burgers were taken off of our ticket, but I was very surprised that no manager ever visited our table. Three of my children and I have worked in restaurants over the years, and I have never seen a table have a problem with a meal and not get a visit from at least the on-duty manager. We decided to try dessert, and these were an improvement over the entrees, but still lacking. The bread pudding was stiff and bland, and the caramel and toffee cookie was overcooked and dry. I wanted to like this restaurant, and I am willing to give it another chance. However, the execution of this meal was poor by all involved. The waitress was inattentive. The food was prepared poorly, and it appears your management doesn't care. It doesn't matter how nice the place is, or if you're just hoping to make money selling alcohol, without drastic improvements in service and the food, this restaurant won't be something you have to worry about for long. read more

I've been here a few time now, usually just to drink and listen to their live music acts but I have had their food twice. The first time was a complete nightmare! No, not an Elm Street nightmare but just one big mess. I went with 4 friends and got to witness a first for me when it comes to the culinary world. The kitchen managed to get all of the hot food out before they could make a salad! MIND BLOWN! It's a salad, it's not like you're trying to win 3 super bowls here! What made it worse, the food came out in weirdly timed increments. The first two items, wings and a burger, came out. They were followed, 20 minutes later by another burger, then another 20 minutes and we received a flat bread, and lastly, 15 minutes later...A SALAD! The second time I went was different, I was eating alone, sat at the bar, and ordered the Cuban Quesadilla which is a great item if you have ever craved a Cubano and live in Texas. Seriously, try to find a great Cubano in Texas that is made right. This time my food came out quick, hot, and it hit the spot. It was completely redeeming compared to my first visit. I would recommend giving Troys a try, but avoid it during game time and if anyone ever meets this Troy let him know he needs to be a little more humble. read more

Interesting place within Texas Live, and if not a major baseball fan, they have a live band while the game is on elsewhere on every TV. The band was a great mix of pop, country and retro. We came by on a Friday night (during a game $30 to park) for a friends birthday. I think they were short staffed bc there were empty tables but took 20 min to get seated. So we went to the outside bar to check it out and get drinks. Two girls working bar literally chit chatted with each other and one guest for 10 mins before looking our way - maybe 5 people at bar so mostly empty too. I finally get one's attn for a drink menu and placed the order, but she finished all but one (mine) and she gets called into main area. Does she make my drink? No. Disappears. After 3-5 min I ask the other one to finish the last drink or transfer tab to table, it was ready. Nope, can't do that. *sigh* Get seated, attentive service at first, ordered my drink with everyone else, their drinks come but once again, not mine grrrrrr lol. Yes, a half hour passes and I finally get a drink! Takes nearly 90 mins to get our food and another half hour to get my second, but everyone else's drinks came quickly whenever she checked on us?! Goodness We were about to leave after an hour of no food but manager came by and told us they were sharing the kitchen with another area that had 600 people compared, our food was almost ready. So we stayed. Food came but fries were cold, so I said something when manager asked. He brought back fresh, hot fries with his apologies within 5 min and waived all our meals (7 ppl). We didn't even have to ask. But I'm glad he offered! We didn't mention our burgers were over cooked (white in the enter - zero juice- wtf?!). Not a good first experience. I don't know if I'm an outlier here, but I felt this was like eating at DFW Airport. Can't complain about the food quality, but the experience felt impersonal as a guest, was very pricey, and I'm still trying to figure out why I paid an additional $5 for a facility fee. Good stuff - the Heat Burger is delicious. It's a little messy but I mixed all the trimmings that fell into my tater tots and forked it in. I'd come back just to eat this. It's a better version of the spicy burger from Jake's in Dallas. I hate sweet potatoes but my dining mate said her fries were on point. My server was either brand new or I annoyed him by not ordering the appetizer he pitched. I got a water to start because I didn't know if I wanted a beer with my meal (I did) and it put us off on the wrong foot. Total tab for two people was over $50 with two entrees, two beers, and that fee. Was just an order taker - Rosie from the Jetsons would have had more personality. They might be trained to turn tables for money for all I know. He didn't even remember which meal was mine when he ran the food out. I'll come back once the new car smell wears off, or if on someone else's tab. This isn't some place to go have beers with your co-workers after 5 - more a restaurant you meet friends before a Rangers/Cowboys game when you know you're blowing money in advance. I'm sure Cowboys fans coming in from elsewhere will love giving "Troy Aikman" their hard earned cash. I'll pass for the time being. read more

The first impression is the hostess. She was so unfriendly, didn't smile. Could not engage. The place wS 1/8 full. She sat us at the closet table to the hostess desk. Why? Lazy? Who knows but we requested a seat with a booth style seating. Five of us walked in and she asked how many? Duh - she was so not with it/ was she even working? Good grieve it is hard to find good help these days. Wow the waitress was awesome. Brought another glass of tea before we had to ask. Great job. It is team work and the hostess failed to deliver. We went to Troy's on a Tuesday evening before a Rangers game. We got there between 5:00 and 5:30. No wait for a table in the maybe half full restaurant. Our server showed up quickly. He then gave us an overlong introduction to the place before taking our drink orders. They were out of one of the draft beers we ordered. He came by twice without the drinks and told us the drinks were slow because there was only one bartender. He struck up conversations with us each time. It's nice to be friendly, but we were having a nice conversation without him. We were sitting within 20 feet of a very long bar with 15 to 20 taps but no bartender. We finally got our drinks and ordered our entrees. They too took quite a while to be delivered. This restaurant uses food runners, so your server does not deliver the food. I had the Korean BBQ Burger - Bulgogi glaze, kimchi, onion and daikon slaw, kimchi mayonnaise, Korean barbecue sauce. My dinner partner had the Cod Bahn Mi - Grilled or tempura fried cod fillet, cilantro, Sriracha mayo, garlic, fish sauce, lime, jalapeno, rice vinegar, pickled slaw. Both were very good. Troy's shares a kitchen and I think bar/bartenders with Miller Tavern. Maybe that was the problem. Maybe it's just a new place getting the kinks ironed out. Our visit wound up being almost 1 1/2 hours for a beer and a burger. Poor staffing or poor system? This is a nice space and the food, once finally delivered, was good. Texas Live overall looks like a fun place with lots of eating and drinking choices. We'll try some others before we return to Troy's. I visited Troy's today for a second time for a mid-week lunch (the first time was right about a week or so after Troy's opened). Needless to say, the service was still as shaky as it was upon its opening. Everything, beginning with our drink orders came out incorrectly. After over an hour waiting for our food, no one received the correct burger, two meals had to be re-made because neither were close to correct and one member of our group received their food a good half our after everyone else because they delivered her meal to the wrong table. A manager did come to apologize, but even for a non event day, I do not recommend for a quick or convenient meal. read more
