Highly recommended! We met our friends here and grabbed a table at the bar, no reservations required! The music and light were perfect! Ambience reminded me of a speakeasy without the smoke! The standouts for me were the butternut squash soup, break pudding and the filet with the mushroom sauce. That mushroom sauce will make you lick the place ( I asked for more). The break pudding has just the right amount of sweetness and did not have raisers. The butternut squash soup is something I can eat daily. It warmed my body up and set the stage for a good meal. Enjoyed our 30th wedding anniversary at Meehan's and it did not disappoint. Justin, our server, was awesome...the food, OMG!!! French Onion soup, outstanding. NY strip top notch, my wife had the Filet Mignon, she said super good. Absolutely delicious food. Great space and a pleasurable upscale experience for downtown Mansfield. It was quiet (except for obnoxiously loud laughing from the woman a table over punctuating shrieks in an otherwise serene atmosphere.) Our waiter was a funny, engaging and did his job well. Husband got the regular. Calamari was okay, it's better at Tipsy Oak in Arlington but the Serrano cilantro aioli was so good! Brussel sprouts, mushrooms and Mac and cheese were divine! Same with water. He was much more attentive to the other groups 4+. Other service team members had to tend to our table. What was the cherry on top of an unpleasant and FIRST experience is that even though he asked what we were in for this evening (our 11 year anniversary, we told him), there was no complimentary dessert given. Amazing dinner for our first time at Meehan's. The wife and I met 3 other friends on a Thursday evening (17-Apr-2025). We had a 6 pm dinner reservation. We used their valet parking. It's a great feature and is free except for tip. I tipped $5 upon return of my truck. Note that it's best to approach from the south if you're planning to use valet parking. Once inside, we checked in with the host and had just a few minutes wait for them to advise our server and ready our table. Upon being seated, our server, Eloy R arrived to greet us. Water was served, drinks were ordered and we studied the menu for a bit. After enjoying our cocktails for a while, we placed our dinner order. My wife and I shared the following: - Four Roses Old Fashioned (me) - Cabernet wine (her) - 6 oz Filet, medium rare with Au Poivre sauce - Wedge Salad - Cream Corn (shared with table) - Mashed Potatoes (shared with table) We loved it all! The filet was perfectly cooked and the Au Poivre sauce is amazing. We went to celebrate my husbands birthday. Our waitress was Amber. She was great! She was spot on with her recommendations. The food was excellent. We shared the porter house steak. It was more than enough for the both of us. For sides we had spinach and mashed potatoes. The sides were good as well. My husband had the speciality Old Fashion. He said he prefers the regular Old Fashion better, but he still drunk it. I had the speciality Lemon Drop ...two of them. We will be back. read more

Let me just start by saying, the food was great. 8.7 out of 10 I'd recommended it anybody. Our server was just not very attentive. We let him know that we were celebrating an anniversary because he asked, he didn't give any attention to that. We sat there with our drinks, empty at least three times for over 10 to 15 minutes. His appearance was scarce and we had to get help from surrounding waiters. Other than that, the experience would've been a great time. I just think that the server really dropped the ball and could have at least acted to care. read more

We had lunch yesterday at Meehan's. We won't be going back. The young lady behind the host podium just wanted a phone number....no real greeting. She made it sound as if they wanted your number in case you skipped out on a tab. The lady who sat us was positively morbid. I ordered a wedge salad. I'm not sure where the lettuce originated, but it wasn't an iceberg wedge. The bleu cheese dressing was watery and tasteless. I had two bites and gave up. The other two meals were fine, but would have been equally good at Chili's for less $$. Maybe they were just off their game, but for the price we'll go elsewhere. On a side note, I was sad to see they removed/covered up the grist. I just appreciate it when local restaurants offer a nod to the city they serve. read more

Was visiting friends in town who chose this for lunch. In the end, it was a really nice meal. Would I necessarily need to go back? Probably not. However, our friends use it for a lot of their special occasions so I can absolutely see that utility and if we lived in the area would likely do the same. We got three dishes: the calamari, the house cobb, and the apple Brie melt. The calamari was interesting, in a different shape than I'm accustomed to. The sauce was meh, but overall this was a great app. The cobb was excellent, almost too many ingredients but in a way I didn't mind. The melt was probably my least favorite only because it was a bit on the boring side. The service was shockingly excellent. The restaurant was pretty empty when we came for lunch, so the attention was astounding. But you can tell they really pride themselves on professionalism and great service. read more

I'm gonna make this review short and sweet! An A+ dining experience. The ambiance, the service, the food, the wine offerings... all first class. And plenty of parking. Free Parking! NO. Really. This is Mansfield, people, not Fort Worth or Dallas. So well worth the drive (well except for what looks a third world road construction project on I-20/820. Find an alternate route until this is completed). The service is exceptionally efficient...multiple people attending to each table - servers, runners, hosts and hostesses, managers. Impressive. And every single one is hustling about their business so fast that at one point my wife said "They're wearing me out! ". LOL. Perfectly cooked filet. Excellent onion soup and wedge salad. As the wine list is not posted on the website I'm posting it here. Also the menu on the website is not current. Prices are unsurprisingly a few dollars higher. read more

Wow! Meehan's is a very special place. We went there to celebrate our granddaughter's birthday and it was our first time eating there. The food was amazing and the customer service is outstanding! Our server, LJ, was one of the best parts of our dinner. Personable, friendly and attentive. He made us feel very special. The food? The calamari appetizer was some of the best I have ever had. Steaks were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The trout was delicious and the chicken Milanese was so tasty. Hubby got the special lobster risotto and that was so good. For our sides we had the spinach, mushrooms and herbed fries. Delicious!! Great wine list to choose from and the old fashions were very good, made with good bourbon. Be sure to get dessert. The cheesecake and crème brûlée were out of this world. If you want to treat yourself, go to Meehan's. You will not be disappointed! read more

My husband and I really enjoy this place. It is located at the corner of Main & Broad Street by The Backyard area that has Del Toro bbq and Twisted Root Burger. We have been here several times now. We mostly enjoy drinks and some of the smaller plates at the bar when we visit, but we have also sat in the dining room when it's more than the 2 of us. The feel is very high-end classic steakhouse. It has leather tufted high back chairs, low lighting, an illuminated wine wall. White table clothes, cloth napkins. The staff dress professionally. The plates have the restaurant name, as well as the steak knives. The wine glasses are Texas sized and could hold an entire bottle of wine. They have a full bar with excellent liquor selection. The craft cocktails are great. My current fave is the sidecar, my husband's; The Closing Argument (a twist on The Last Word). We have had many good old-fashioneds here. They have a great red wine from Bonnie Doon by the glass. A good wine by the glass list is hard to find. Our favorite appetizer is the calamari. The pieces are big and meaty, like a chopped calamari steak, instead of little tiny rings & tentacles. It come with a zingy green dipping sauce I thought it had wasabi, waiter said serrano I think. It's a perfect size for sharing. We have also had & enjoyed the spinach salad, the wedge salad, the roasted beets, the scallops. The salads are always excellent, my most recent fave is the pear and blue cheese endive salad. The French Onion Soup is another standout. My husband orders steak with sides some visits, and he is always very happy with the flavor, seasoning & temp. We were just here for his birthday and the butternut squash side was incredible! Get that before it's gone. Lately they have had oysters as a starter and they are the best I've found in the area. They serve them with the little vinegar & shallot mignonette that I love. Also the short rib appetizer is fantastic. I hope they keep that for a while or bring it back seasonally. We have also sampled a few desserts, the carrot cake is great, even if you just take it to go for later! They accept reservations, they have valet parking. A great place for a special occasion. Update. It's official, Meehans has become our "Go To" spot for special occasions. We used to take special meals at Ruth's Chris, Morton's or Perry's. Out of town friends and family we took to Eddie V's or Texas. Those are all still great but as we sat in Meehans with guest we realized that the last four or five most special dinners have been right here in Mansfield at Meehans. Food and service every bit as good as the big names above but in our town. Hands down, the best in our area. read more

This was my first time coming to Meehans chophouse, I really enjoyed my experience, but friends had a little bit of a different experience. I came to celebrate my birthday. They have complimentary valet parking, which is very convenient. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. I also had a reservation, and my party and I were seated immediately. The vibe is very fancy and the staff caters to you. LJ was our main server. He helped with questions about the menu and gave recommendations. I got a butter pecan old fashioned but appreciated it wasn't too sweet. We shared an appetizer, the calamari, it is cut into thick strips, and the sauce it comes with is amazing. It is spicy, and it compliments so well. For my entree, I got the scallops based on the recommendation, and LJ definitely pointed me in the right direction. They were sweet, tender, and cooked perfectly. My friends experience differed at this point. They both got steak, one got the steak and lobster, and one got steak fries. My friend said the lobster was cooked really well. Both friends' steaks were cooked incorrectly, and the staff did not stay until they cut into the steak. So they they had to wait until we could get someone's attention... which took longer than it should have. They did bring them new steaks and new sides... I had already finished my scallops. My friends' fries were also greasy. The sides we got were really good. The mashed potatoes were creamy. The creamed corn had jalapenos that elevated the corn. It was not super creamy, but it was really good. They gave me a free creme burlee for my birthday. It was one of the best I ever had. The sugar was perfectly hardened, and the custard was tasty. Will I go back, yes, but you may want to get seafood instead of steak. read more

We always sit in the bar for great service and relaxing atmosphere. Bartenders are fantastic. Cozy and welcoming- can't beat it!

We had reservations for 5:15 pm, and upon arrival our table was waiting for us! We requested for booth and they were able to accommodate the reservation. After being seated, the servers' assistants took our drink orders and immediately gave us fresh dinner rolls! The mini rolls (baguettes) were baked to perfection! The crust was the chef's kiss and the bread was fluffy! The salted butter paired well with the bread! For starters, we ordered the crab cakes and Cesar salad. I didn't care for the crab cakes. The flavor was ok. The crab cakes texture was too mushy for me. They could have seared the crab cakes more and consider adding breading or panko crumbs to help boast the texture. The ramoulade was yummy ! Being that I've read such great reviews, I'd thought to give Meehan's a try! I ordered the 10 oz filet mignon and my husband ordered the Chilean Seabass with mashed potatoes. I was fairly dissatisfied with the filet. I requested for the steak to be cooked medium. It was medium well. Joel immediately brought attention to Scott, the manager. Scott came to our table, apologized, and had another steak made. I also shared with Scott that the mashed potatoes were generously salted.. My second steak came, it was more than medium well. (Still overcooked). We replaced the mashed potatoes with a baked potatoe. The third steak came, and while the medium temperature was correct, the outer steak was very tough and chewy! The grill master must've overly seared the steak and/or placed it in the oven too long... The steak's cut wasn't great, either! It was a poor piece of meat! The steak was gamey, irony! We've eaten at nice steakhouses such as Cuervo Bravos, El Gaucho, The Capital Grille, The Metropolitan, The Woven Chophouse, Chris Ruth's, etc. We are familiar with high quality steaks, and Meehan's didn't do it's justice as to what many people have said, . Customer service was great! Scott and Joel were very apologetic... Scott discounted our meal and he really wanted to make things right! Although their customer service was great, I expected a higher quality of meat and the grilling of the steak. It took three tries, but it still wasn't done correctly. Not sure if this is not the normal grill master or chef, but this isn't good business for the consumer or the restaurant.... Please review the pictures and you can see the third steak's outcome! . Because of this experience, I won't be coming back for steak! My husband said that his Seabass was ok, but it's not return worthy. read more

We did an event in downtown Mansfield today. Afterwards the wife and I decided to have lunch at Meehan's Chophouse. Upon arrival we were greeted at the door and it only took a couple minutes for them to prepare our table. This is a very nice place. The interior is stunning with a full wall of wine. The serer was very gracious and knowledgeable about the items on the menu. The wife had steak and brussel sprouts. I had a Shrimp cocktail and a Meehan's Burger. The food came out in a very reasonable amount of time. The burger was I do believe the best I have ever had. The fries were very good as well. The burger was cooked a perfect medium well and all the toppings were fresh. I will be going back again the next time we are in that part of the world. Everyone was kind and courteous. Now let me warn you the prices match the food but were not that too over the top like so many other high end places are. So okay it was a great experience that came unexpectedly. read more

This review is only in reference to our most recent visit... We come often from Minnesota to visit our son and daughter-in-law who live in Mansfield and we always look forward to going to Meehan's when we're here. Love the feel and atmosphere of the place. Last night we had dinner in the bar and my husband ordered the sea bass, I got the trout. We waited quite a while and when our food came, my husband's sea bass was way overdone and rubbery. The manager handled it well as far as apologizing, offered a redo or a different entree, asked if we wanted our side refreshed and asked if we needed drinks refreshed. The redo on the sea bass took way too long - the manager apologized again. By the time it came, my food (which was really good!) had cooled off. Things were just not syncing and off in general. But, hey, things happen, right? However, my beef is that no compensation was given. Not a free side, not a free drink, not the offer of a free desert, nothing knocked off the bill. We were pretty surprised. One not-so-great experience isn't going to deter us from coming to Meehan's when we're in town and we always have a great time at Henry's. Really just a review to let management know a complimentary drink or desert and coffee or a few bucks off the bill would have been appreciated - and the appropriate gesture . read more

Just had the sea bass and fries. Y'ALL...get here! I rarely order a second martini these days but Kendall made the smoothest vodka martini I've had in a while, so 2 slid down nicely. It's hard, bland, tasteless. Even the less-than-you Texas Roadhouse has better bread. 2. Chill all the wine by the glass. Even the red.
