Probably the worst steak I've had at a steakhouse. Ordered the NY Strip with truffle butter on top. It was so overdone there was no moisture left, the steak pulled the moisture out of my mouth like a dry sponge. The fat wasn't rendered at all and the entire thing felt like a piece of rubber. I couldn't even tell if they put the truffle butter ($7) on it, the sponge on my plate probably absorbed it. The prices are high for any steakhouse, and the quality was worse than outback. I'm honestly shocked. There were many sides with zero seasoning or flavor. The steak had no salt. I could go to Tom Thumb, pick up a discount steak about to expire and do better. The server offered to replace it as he walked by and noticed the cook, but I didn't care to, we were already 2 hours in. Extremely disappointing and overpriced. If this is your local go to and all you know, try something else like bobs, del Frisco, Perry's, and see what you're missing. It'll be cheaper, better, and more worth your time. read more

Had a friend come in from Portland, Maine. Which has 3 Michelin star restaurant. I wanted to stay close to the airport, as he was staying at the Hyatt DFW. Chose the Chop House based on rating and the view. It did not disappoint. Met Mike on the grill chef on the elevator coming up and I knew it would be a good night. Dale the General Manager, was knowledgeable and professional. Jalen our waiter, was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave wonderful service. We started out with the shrimp and crab ceviche, as recommend by Jalen and it was amazing. Our entrees where crab cakes and the sea bass. To quote my friend "for Texas, these are great crab cakes". The Sea Bass was phenomenal and the risotto was almost the star of both plates. Excellent culinary adventure. What a wonder experience! We went on Saturday 04/25 and the Sea Bass (Imperial) was the best seafood dish I can remember having in years and I spent 3 years eating seafood in the Florida Keys. It was cooked to perfection:) Gidden was so personable and provided excellent service. The entire team from the host, bartender, wait staff, and manager were so attentive. The ambiance was very elegant with the sparkling Arlington city lights! My visit was on my birthday, February 9. The ladies greeting me at the door were warm, inviting, with all smiles! Service was adequate and friendly. Premium wine selection by the glass was a bit lacking. The food was good, but not spectacular. I started with a Caesar salad. It was okay. I thought it was a bit unusual that there was no apparent bread service for a fine dining restaurant. No other tables were served bread either, until one larger party was served bread following their appetizers, along with their salad course. Nothing on the menu indicated bread was served upon request and/or for purchase. For my entree I had the 6 oz. filet Mignon and a side of their steak fries. I finished with the chocolate torte and a Bailey's coffee. Looking for a place to watch in Texas. Originally wanted Mexican food but it was closed Monday and Tuesday. Found the Mercury Chophouse nearby. It was a great find. The restaurant is located on the ninth floor and has fabulous views. It is upscale and had live piano player. This place is a romantic place if you are in Arlington looking for a date night idea. My dear friend and I have made it a tradition to enjoy an annual Christmas dinner at Mercury Grill. Unfortunately, this year will be our last visit. We both ordered the pear salad and the New York strip steak. The salad was overwhelmingly sweet and inedible, and after only a few bites of the steak, it became apparent that it contained excessive gristle. The meat was extremely tough and difficult to cut, even with a steak knife. I did inform our waiter and the floor manager, and they kindly brought a replacement steak. Regrettably, it was of the same quality and clearly from the same cut or supplier, offering no improvement. While the ambiance is beautiful and the waitstaff was attentive and professional, the quality of the food was deeply disappointing. This was, without question, the worst dining experience I have had. I cannot recommend this restaurant for dining and would only suggest it to those seeking overpriced cocktails and a nice view rather than a quality meal. A representative from the restaurant responded to my review indicating their beef is Prime and marbling makes the steak more chewy. Obviously he knows nothing about beef. There are 3 grades of beef. The restaurant was fairly quiet, intimate and located on the 9th floor so the views are stunning! I sat at the bar and the bartender, Brian, was kind and attentive. Had a Lavender 75 and their mini crab cakes; would recommend both! As I was packing up to leave (around 5:30pm), the live music crew was setting up - the woman who sang was doing a mic check and sounded lovely from the small bit I heard. What a disappointment. For 2 people, our tab was well over $500 with tip. The food was just okay and the service was good enough. The website touts the wonderful views. When we asked for a table so that we could enjoy said views we were told "there was nothing to see but I-30." We watched a window table remain empty for the two hours we were there. Crab cakes are more filler than crab. The Wagyu mini tomahawk was more like just a big ribeye. Definitely not worth the $210. This was for a birthday celebration. The reservation asked if this was for a special celebration so I included that this was for a birthday. I guess that was so they could have the singer queue up the random Happy Birthday in the other room and stick a candle in our dessert? They brought us the wrong bill (we should have kept that one and saved a few bucks). Then on our way home they called to ask if we wanted to come back to the restaurant to get our to package. For dinner we shared the porter house for two. I hope this isn't a good representation of Texas steak. We're from NY and my expectation maybe too high for Texas. It's not like we went to Outback Steak house. It cost 145 for the steak. We also had the mashed potatoes and asparagus. Asparagus were thick and hard, and I was so bummed about the mashed potatoes. Mash potatoes are so bad for you, so I rarely ever have them. As my wife says, it's only a meal, but I was hoping for more for the 260 we spent. At first we were a little perplexed if we were in the right place but the sign outside of the building as well as the map legend inside , provided us with more context that we were in the right place . Once you reach the 9th floor you will locate it adjacent from the Luxor staffing office. I made reservations ahead of time and we got seated quickly . Not at all busy for a Wednesday afternoon. Prices for the lunch menu were reasonable/affordable. Food and quality was well above average . Our server was very nice , attentive, and courteous. I chose the Marinated skirt steak stroganoff paired with the broccolini. Bread is served upon request with no additional charge . They have basic soft drinks and alcoholic beverages . I also added the lamb lollipops for two as a suggestion from our server that was listed as an off menu special . Everything was seasoned to perfection and well cooked . The view and atmosphere was calm and peaceful. There were other guests here as group but it wasn't noisy or disruptive. The menu was easy to read and the environment was clean. What an unforgettable dining experience last night. Went to a gathering in Grand Prairie and invited some friends to join us for dinner. We opted for the Mercury Chop House in Arlington and could not have been happier with our choice. We were doubly fortunate to have Cody serving us and taking care of our needs from the bar! From the moment we sat down, Cody made sure every detail was perfect. Friendly without being overbearing, professional but still personable -- he set the tone for a truly standout evening. The food absolutely lived up to the atmosphere. We ordered the salmon and the cod, and both were cooked to perfection -- flaky, flavorful, and plated beautifully. It's clear the kitchen here takes serious pride in their craft. Our cocktails were just as impressive. The Bloody Mary was bold and perfectly spiced, and the Old Fashioned with a special Angel's Envy bourbon was expertly balanced -- smooth, not too sweet, and exactly what you hope for when you order a classic To top it all off, we couldn't resist dessert, and I'm glad we didn't. Every bite was a reminder that Mercury Chop House doesn't cut corners -- from start to finish, everything was outstanding. We actually had to do different deserts to share with our guests. Our waiter Blake offered good recommendations. We started with salads... Greek and a wedge. For my entree, I did the Lobster and Cheese Ravioli and was quite pleased. We did family style sides and had the whipped Potatoes, Brussel Sprouts and Mac and Cheese. All were very good. I'm picky about Mac and Cheese and wouldn't recommend them all but theirs was delicious. The others had 8 oz. Filet Mignon Steak. No complaints there. For dessert I sampled the Creme Brulee and I asked if they could make Affogato (sp?) as they had espresso and Vanilla Tillamook ice cream. Very good. They should put it on the menu. Included threes cheese, figs, dried fruits, pickles, honey, sausage, prosciutto with some crackers. It was fantastic, everything was fresh and tasty. Dinner we had two 12oz filet mignons . Cook to your taste, and flavorful. You can add enhancements. We didn't. The sides we had were three cheese oven baked potatoes and the corn risotto. Both fantastic options, the corn risotto was lite compared to the potatoes. For dessert we had crème brûlée, and Italian cream cake. Both were tasteful and lite options after a lot of food. Came here for our 10 year anniversary. The ladies at the front are really nice and welcoming . We got there early for our reservation and they were able to seat us within 5 minutes. We got a table by the window as we requested and it did not disappoint. The view is beautiful and very romantic!! We got the grasshopper and Golden Cadillac as well, which were their ice cream drinks. The ice cream drinks were super tasty, like drinking a milkshake. For our appetizer we got the filet mignon cigars and they were amazing and packed full of flavor. For our entrées I ordered an 18 oz Bone in Ribeye, my husband ordered the Sea Bass, and for our sides we has their Parmesan Truffle Fries and the Lobster Mac n Cheese. My ribeye was perfectly cooked to my liking and had a lot of flavor, the sea bass had a light and fresh taste, the fries were nicely seasoned, and the lobster mac n cheese was the bomb. All of their sides are definitely shareable portions. The service could have been a little bit better. It was a little slow, which in this economy I have learned to be patient. However I do feel like our waiter could have been a lot more attentive. It was our anniversary so I felt like maybe they should have wrote Happy Anniversary on the plate of our dessert. Sometimes those special touches can make a special event, even more special. The manager on duty was very friendly and helpful. I did see him helping waiters with plates, and checking to make sure dinner was great. Overall I do recommend this place and I would eat here again.
