Loma is a beautiful new restaurant in the Arlington Entertainment District. As soon as I walked in the aroma of grilled meats hit me and I couldn't wait to enjoy all Loma had to offer. We started with the queso, house chips and salsa. The queso comes with a special oil (mix it in) and it gives the dip a really nice smoky umami flavor. We shared the large combo fajitas with steak, chicken and shrimp. It's more than an enough for 2 people, especially since we started with the queso. These were the best fajitas I've ever had. The steak and chicken were perfectly cooked, seasoned and tender. The shrimp are huge and bacon wrapped- AMAZING. I was impressed with how fresh and skillfully cooked everything was. Our server Nick was great- he's knowledgeable, attentive and pleasant. I'll be back to Loma for more fajitas soon! read more

Unimpressive. Not ready for big time events going on. They were crammed for the Eagles concert Saturday night. We arrived about 45 minutes early for our reservation due road light change in travel plans and requested if we could get arable early - anywhere. Indicated they were jammed and we would need to wait for our reservation plenty of tables were empty but guess they were short of staff or just holding for another reservation. Tables did start to fill in. Unlike many restaurants they don't use pager devices or text messaging to let you know when your table is ready. We wondered back in toward the host desk about five minutes out and wait for our bane to be called. It didn't happen though a couple other parties come in and get tables. Plenty though are turned away saying next available would be almost 30 minutes post-concert start time. We overhear a group ask about their 545 reservation and are seated. Even though we had checked in twice before we reminded them again of our reservation and were finally seated 15 minutes after our reservation. Once seated we ordered quickly so we could dine quickly and make it across the street for the concert. Order a sweet tea and a frozen margarita light ice. Tea came out quickly. Margarita came out 30 minutes later - on the rocks and no salt but likely wasn't mine but I was tired of waiting for my drink. It was okay. Nothing special. That was the key for the rest of the evening. Ok, nothing special. Queso was okay. Rice and beans okay. Corn tortillas okay. Chicken fajitas in their own was juicy and tasty but made into a fajita it was just not a great combo. Received our check quickly as requested but the special concert promo discount wasn't on it at first she went back and added it for both our table and the couple next to us. Server was nice and efficient but hindered by kitchen backlog trying to get to everyone I assume. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately I can't hold her accountable for the quality of the food and drink. One plus was they offered the Apple Pay QR code and we were able to leave quickly. Great location. Poor execution and use of the location. Maybe better if no event is going on. read more

Ate at Loma tonight with co workers. Pretty decent Tex mex. I ordered the wagyu skirt steak fajitas. The steak was very tender and cooked perfectly. It did lack seasoning though. Was kinda bland. They give you melted butter to dip it in. Our server was great and got me some spicy salsa to dip the steak in. The guacamole had good flavor with my meal. On a 1-5 stars I would say for me it was like a 3.8 out of 5. Co-workers all said they didn't really enjoy the refried beans. But they enjoyed their tacos and enchiladas. read more

Let me be clear. The food was absolutely delicious. The low/average rating is strictly related to the service that we received. We came all the way from out of state to celebrate my husband's birthday and were very disappointed in the service. Our server was nowhere to be found... I even asked if they offered anything for birthdays since I listed that when I made a reservation... He told me yes and never ended up bringing us anything. Wow, wow, wow. Loma is absolutely amazing. Brandon Hurtado has truly outdone himself here. From the interior to the exterior this spot is impeccable. Great atmosphere, excellent vibes, all around great. Fits for a great date, business meeting, group of friends (which is what I did), or a fam trip for some killer mexican food. The menu is awesome. They go beyond what you'd expect from your cookie cutter Tex-Mex and really expanded upon their culinary journey with menu items like short-rib enchiladas, oysters oxacafeller, queso macho, wagyu beef enchiladas. It was all amazing. If you're a cocktail person, they have some truly unique and fun drinks. I personally am not drinking, but all my friends in our group got some excellent drinks that I tried sips of, and they were exceptional. The honey dew, loma rita, al pastor cocktails... so good. Service was awesome. We got helped by about 4 different people for our group of 9. All swooping in to make sure everyone got the help they needed. The GM swung by at the end to wrap things up and helped answer some questions and was professional and helpful. Arlington only gets so many awesome food spots, and this is a new one. If you're anywhere in the metroplex, or just visiting for an event etc. this is absolutely worth your time. We stopped at Loma Txmx during our stay at Loews Arlington (as it was a short walk across the street) and while in town for a Rangers game. The menu isn't huge but provides some great flavorful options. The service was really attentive, friendly, and professional. I recommend for a pre or post game meal. read more

Love to see him branch out from bbq. Service was stellar, attentive. Interior was nice. Parking is going to suck being it at the ballpark but avoiding game times is the best way to combat this. Queso was nothing special but good. Guac was fresh, lacked a flavor punch (just tasted like avocado, not much else) but I liked it well enough. Husband ordered the fajitas which were solid, especially the skirt. Shrimp was huge, wrapped with jalapeno and bacon. I ordered half nachos, which were WAY overpriced for what it was. The totopos were smaller than the chips they provide for salsa, so a little laughable. Esquites was fresh, tasted good enough, but also lacked some flavor..maybe salt or some spice? All this said, it was decent, freshly made food! Worth visiting to check it out for yourself. For us, it was nothing stellar and at $100 for 2 of us, hard to make it a regular spot and not the best Texmex we've had in the area even at a premium cost. Still happy for the Hurtados for their expansion, I hope the service stays at the level we experienced and the food continues to evolve. read more

What a great new restaurant! Nice atmosphere for date night or dining before a game. We had the Guacamole and nachos for appetizer. Fajitas are flamed at the table - loved the shrimp brochette!! And, fresh made tortillas! You've got to try dessert - strawberry tres leches, moist and fabulous! Mia was very helpful and attentive. When dining here we found out the location had only been open a few weeks. The food was yummy and tasted of good quality, the steak was delicious. Taking off points for the lack of spice availability, the spice level is mild at best so hopefully they are able to create some spicier salsas. Even my friend that doesn't like spicy food noticed this. It is hard to hear what the servers and hostesses are saying but they were friendly. We did notice that the manager seemed to scold our waiter while he was telling us about this being a new Hurtados venture which we were interested in hearing about so it felt rude of him to 'shoo' him away. The drinks were good but lacked alcohol so that was disappointing for the price. The restrooms were clean. Overall we had a good experience and it is understandable there is room for improvement since they just opened. Would only recommend if going to Globe life for an event due to its location.
