We've been here a couple of times now, and every visit has been consistently enjoyable. We walked in without a reservation and were seated within just a few minutes. Our server was attentive from the start and did a fantastic job recommending menu favorites. The drinks arrived almost immediately, and my roasted jalapeño margarita was the standout of the meal. It had just the right amount of smoky heat without overpowering the tequila...well balanced, refreshing, and dangerously easy to drink. Foodwise, the fried burritos were excellent. The tortilla was perfectly crispy and flaky on the outside while the filling stayed soft, flavorful, and comforting. The sopes were packed with flavor, and the brisket tacos were just as delicious. They come with rice and beans, making for a very generous meal, so definitely come hungry! The only item that missed the mark for us was the chile con queso, which was a little bland compared to everything else on the table. One of the best reasons to visit right now is their World Cup special: $5 margaritas during the matches. Not the biggest fan of Mexican or Tex-Mex food personal preference wise, but this place is a special one. Chips and salsa so tasty it reminded my family of the food they used to get a lot back in California. There's a lot of Mexican and Tex-Mex restaurants but nothing hits quite like Maria Cuca's. Our server is super friendly but despite the not-so-rush-hour he was definitely occupied with serving many tables as it took a moment for us to order our food. However, the food came fast and the Tilapia I ordered was really good. I also got extra rice because the rice to meat portions were a little off for me. Went here for an unplanned lunch graduation celebration. The original place had over an hour wait (it was Mother's Day) and this place was near by and quick. We were greeted by the manager and all the women were presented with a rose. Very nice touch. There were 7 of us and we were seated pretty quickly. The inside is spacious and very clean/tidy. This is one of the best kept secrets in Arlington. This mexican restaurant has a wonderful ambiance and everything on the menu is fabulous.You can't go wrong!! The staff is always courteous and kind in accommodating. I've been here a few other times but I'm just now doing a review. So today, I had the chicken burrito? And it was humongous. You can eat off of that thing for 2 days or if it's enough for two people. And everything on the menu is at a great price point. 6/24/26 @ 6:30pm. Horrible service. While most of the tables in the bar area were vacant, only one had been cleaned after earlier diners. That booth had the seat so close to the table that no normal sized adult could use it. Meanwhile every other table had dirty dishes and glasses while an employee stood idly by the hostess stand watching the match on TV. No hostess visible and no one remotely interested in our business this night. I assume the management of this place is in way over their heads. What a shame. This has become a favorite spot of ours. We just really enjoy everything we've tried so far. I'll probably miss a few things but between Jon and I, we've definitely had and would happily order again (and probably already have) their enchiladas, fajitas, tacos (crunchy and soft), burritos, chimichangas, and nachos. Have never ordered a roasted stuffed poblano pepper plate and the pepper was NOT pealed. Yes you read it right! The burnt skin was on the pepper. The service was dry, unfriendly, and arrogant. I purposely said "thank you" three times when I had to ask for more tea, lemons, and he did not budge. I seriously regret not letting management know. The menu had a lot of choices, offering a great variety of options. I ordered the carne asada, which was well-seasoned and featured a nice cut of steak. I really enjoyed my meal and the overall ambiance of the restaurant. It's located across the corner from an upscale neighborhood, which adds to its charm. I did consider walking since it's so close, but the chilly weather convinced me to drive instead. Husband and I have been regulars of another Mexican restaurant in the area but it's quite a drive from our house and I saw some posts about this place on Nextdoor in the Viridian posts. Decided that since it's so much closer we should give it a try. This place has seriously put a damper on my yelp posts because it is so good that it's our go-to now. We have tried both crispy and soft tacos, fajitas, quesadillas, queso, guacamole, churros and tres leches cake. Everything, and I mean everything has been so good. I am a crispy taco fan and there's are amazing. The portions are huge, even told the manager that they could cut back and make more money. It's a lot y'all. Anyhow I've also tried the house and premium margaritas and both were excellent and you "feel" them! Not whimpy on the alcohol at all. Oh goodness I'll start with the good! Our waitress was super nice! When you first arrive they give you a small bowl of chips but 3 bowls of dip! I ordered Ice tea and later found out I was charged $7.99 for 2 glasses well I called the store and the amazing manager quickly fixed the problem and refunded both teas! Had been here for happy hour but never dinner. The bar area is a good size and is open seating for all table tops, bar itself and booths. The margaritas are delicious and strong. I came here with a group of friends for an early dinner on a Sunday, it was not very busy at all. My sangria was pretty decent, and the food was fine. Not the best, not the worst. Service was not great, our waitress really didn't seem to want to be bothered with us. And kept going to another table to sit down and eat? If she needed dinner they honestly should have given our table to someone else. Additionally, when it was time for each of us to pay for our portions of the meal they added in the tip but were shady about it being added (it was almost hidden on the receipt) and had a separate spot for the tip again.... I have never seen anything like it and a few people in my group DOUBLE tipped for really sub-par service. I do not not mind tipping well, but please don't try to trick us. Beautiful place with multiple seating options to accommodate different party sizes. Easy convenient free parking. We went on a Saturday for lunch and there were 6 other tables seated and room for plenty more. Staff were friendly. Service was a little slow (one of my pet peeves is being brought chips & salsa without water/drinks coming shortly thereafter) and it did take quite awhile to get the entrees but luckily we were not in a hurry and were in good company. The chips were good and served with 3 different flavorful salsas. The red was more mild, verde medium, and the dark green was spicy (my favorite of the 3 if I had to choose). We ordered the chili con queso plus brisket and it came out quickly and was really good! I added dollops of salsa to some of my bites to give it some heat and enjoyed it! The kids burger and fries was surprisingly large and was enjoyed by the kids. My mom got flautas laredo and really enjoyed them. They weren't overly greasy and had a good amount of filling with tasty toppings. Other meals enjoyed: Sour cream chicken enchiladas Brisket tacos (next time would ask for lime wedges) Chicken nachos Steak fajitas The rice and beans that come on the side were also good. Flour & corn tortillas are good and appear to be homemade. Large portions - we left with 3 to go boxes. 1 star removed for the slow service but that won't keep us from going back! I went here with a toddler and 3 adult family members on Saturday, 9/20/25. We went at noon and it was not crowded. Good location and parking. We chose this place due to its proximity to the Viridian. We usually go to Chuy's or Blue Goose Cantina. The atmosphere was great and it was clean. We ordered just water to drink and I along with my son ordered fajitas. Price $21 for one, $42 for two. We got a children's meal of what looked like boxed mac and cheese (which kids seem to love) and a plastic fruit cup for $9. Another family member got the brisket tacos and another the enchiladas. The food was good, and there was enough meat to make 3-4 fajitas. Each fajita meal came with 3 tortillas so I needed an extra. The total bill came to $92.54 (not including tip) for these 5 meals. I was surprised to see that I was charged an additional $1.50 because I asked for more flour tortillas. The waiter did not tell me about the up charge. When I asked the waiter about this, he said, "If you would have ordered the fajitas for two, you would have received 6." This floored me, as I've never been charged extra for additional tortillas. Also, I didn't need a double order of fajitas and there was no deal in getting an order of 2 fajitas, as some restaurants give you. I deducted the tortilla amount from the tip, because of the way he had responded to my question about the extra charge. I would not have done that if he had responded in an understanding manner. From Tucson AZ. Here on business. NOBODY has better Mexican food than Tucson....but I'm here for 2 weeks, needed some Mexican food and was enjoying the trails in the area and tried out Maria Cucas. Hands down. Best fajitas I've ever had. Steak tender melt in your mouth, shrimp juicy and not over cooked seasoned to perfection. I was really pleased on my recent visit to Maria Cuca's, and found it to be a good new addition to Arlington's excellent Tex-Mex scene. We stopped in late on a weeknight and enjoyed beautifully presented options from their large cocktail menu, with the cucumber margaritas being a particular standout. My wife and I had dinner here. We were seated right away during the dinner hours. We had a very nice and friendly waiter who came right over to take our drink orders and meal order. I had a mango margarita, and it was very delicious. It could have used a tad bit more tequila but still good. For an entrée I had the combo fajita. It came piping hot, but it could have used a little more meat. The chicken was good, but that steak was delicious and very tender. It came with only three tortillas, but everything was great. For dessert I had the Tres leches and it was so delicious, we even ordered some chrios that came with two dipping sauces and ice cream, they were so very good also. Eh.. fiancé and I came here hearing that this place was opened by some of the former staff of Mariano's. I was pretty underwhelmed by the food. Queso was like cheap nacho cheese. Chips came out cold. My Chimmychanga was nothing like what Mariano's used to have. Fiancé's meal was forgettable. Drinks were ok. Nothing to write home about. Staff was friendly but we came on a day where there was nobody in the restaurant and even then we felt like we had to wait. Restaurant decor and ambiance was nice.
