I will say, I was not pleased with this restaurant. First, they were short staff for the amount of customers that were there. I seen a few customers come in and leave quickly. We stayed because we had eaten in the Maria Cuca's in Plano and we really enjoyed the food. Well, second. The food in this restaurant was not the like the one in Plano. I was greeted by Alberto, an absolute gem, who made an amazing skinny margarita and the roasted jalapeño margarita. I recommend both! I had the carnitas plate for dinner and as a Southern California resident I wasn't expecting too much. I will say, this was probably one of the best plates of carnitas I have ever had. Well, the short version, Veridian residents are gonna love this place, it's right up their alley. It's really nice inside, beautiful bar, service is good and friendly. For people like me that look at food, drinks, and value, for the most part, you need to read the long version. Went in weekend early evening. Sat at the bar, which as mentioned is super nice. Got waited on fast, looked over the menu and ordered the premium margarita for $13. The menu only offered queso by the bowl for $10, but I asked and got a cup that I believe was $6. The margarita was good, if kinda pricey, but you get some bang for your buck. With prices nowadays, I can't complain about the drink, well, the first one anyway. They bring three salsa's to the bar. Red, verde, and hot. The red was my favorite, the verde didn't have a lot of taste for me. The hot was hot, but also not much taste other than the heat. I would've preferred more of it, but it was little more than heat. The red sauce had some good flavor and I enjoyed it, but no heat. The chips were good. The cheese queso shows up and honestly folks, I thought it was some pretty bland stuff. No real flavor, but it's safe for human consumption. If you're on a salt and mostly taste free diet, you will like it. Cup was more like a shallow, small bowl. I decided to grab another margarita and see if I could get something more off the menu to go a little more fairly with my experience, so I got a half order of chicken fajita nachos for $10. What I got was four (count em', four) tortilla chips with beans, cheese, and chicken. Sour cream and guac on the side. Not much going on here either, I think I even hit a couple with some salt to make them more exciting. (spoiler alert, it really didn't help much) The second margarita tasted way different from the first. I don't know if they overdid it with one of the liquors, but to me it seemed like they added something to it that they didn't to the first one. I didn't really care for the taste (midori? I dunno, something really fruity) but it didn't make it not drinkable. At this point I just finished everything as quickly as possible so I could move on. The cost was about $45 before tip...yikes. If everything would have been to my liking I would go here occasionally to grab a couple drinks. As it is now, I probably won't be back. The food I saw being served had the same, sterile looking characteristics that I got. However, I think this place will be a big hit for people around here. Everyone is still dying to get more nice places, which I can understand. But this place doesn't have what I look for. read more

Well my wife and I were very disappointed on this visit to Maria Cuca's. We were craving there Enchiladas, my wife loves their Cheese , and I enjoy the Chicken, we arrived around 3:15 for and early dinner, we ordered drinks my wife had the frozen Margarita with salt I ordered a Miller lite, when the drinks came her Margarita was in a glass, and she got an empty glass with salt on the brim, my beer came the bottle, I transferred her drink into the glass with salt, and use the empty glass to pour my beer into it. We had to ask for the chips and salsa which they serve in small bowls, waiter brought them to us, and we proceeded to order, waited about 10 minutes for our food which was fine but when our plates arrived the rice was cold, food was a little bit more than room temperature hot, made the waiter aware of the cold rice , told him they need to turn the warmer up and the next thing I know he brings out a plate with more rice, that is still just barely warm. Keep in mind we were there early and maybe there were two other tables with customers so they were not busy at all but we will think twice before we go back, and spend $50.00 for two drinks and two plates of enchiladas, two per plate. We made reservations for Valentine's dinner a few days before. The owners were very accommodating to our small party of four. There are 2 locations in our area. We selected the newest at 3970 N Collins, Arlington. We had previously dined at their other location for lunch. The commercial center of their location is clean and safe with new shops. When we arrived, we were impressed by the upscale appearance of the facility and the staff. We were quickly made comfortable and the place was not snotty with servers with an upscale attitude. We arrived at 6:00 pm and the restaurant was not filled to capacity, typical of a weeknight and early dining adventure. The meals start with chips and 3 salsa's. I was able to devour all samples. The dark green has a nice smoky flavor and is described as the hottest. We ordered traditional menu items instead of the Valentine's special. Since were were having dessert at another location later that evening . Our entree's were Flautas and Burrito Grande. The portions were very filling. My sponsor bragged that the Flautas were some of the best she has eaten. Now that we have located this restaurant we will return to enjoy their service and flavors. read more
