We ate breakfast here before we headed back to San Antonio, so that being said we were in a bit of a rush so excuse me not taking pics but let me tell you that this place is one of a kind/whole in the wall/diamond in the rough. We just needed to eat breakfast before we came back home and not to mention the kids were already hungry and boy we landed here! On arrival the place looks like it needed remodeling but the food was what I was there for right. Once inside I noticed that on the Yelp pics of the tables inside are old because now they have new tables and chairs so our seats were very comfortable,,, Free chips and salsa were upon seating so I was like great! Drinks, we got to pick out from a huge fridge a wide variety of drinks from regular sodas to.mexican sodas to juices. Our waitress was very welcoming by the way so on we went with our order- My wife had the breakfast plate huevos rancheros, she said that was the bomb. I had the large menudo and oh my god that hit the spot for me. And aside we had one taco each, me of fajita and her of barbacoa which were very very good. My kids both wanted bean and cheese tacos and they loved it, and my 9month old had one scrambled egg! Eating these tacos took me back to Mexico because the tortillas were small like my family makes in Mexico so having that back home feeling was very warming and delightful for me ppl. So I will definitely be coming back here next time I'm back here in Arlington,Tx. Oh my god! That menudo was the bomb! I wanted to rave about this lil hole in the wall I tried the Menudo if I could give this place 10 stars I would the flavor is amazing the texture is just perfect I don't think this little places get enough credit . The service was great but I wish I could say the same about the food. The size of tacos were small and the overall quality in what looks like scrambled eggs were near burnt. How does someone mess up making scrambled eggs is beyond me but there is always a first for everything..... I guess. Let alone the price did not match what the plate or tacos were being served. I got a taco plate to go, I got 3 tacos all flower. The service was fine and it looks nice inside though really old outside, these places usually have best tacos. The tacos were ready in about 10 minutes. The price was about $10 so the average. The pastor taco was okay, the barbacoa was just okay and I didn't really like the chorizo taco. Service was ok , food wise the serving of the fish stew was bad , 2 very small pieces of tilapia , 8 shrimp , a lot of broth and almost no vegetables in it . while eating it I also encountered a piece of beef in the caldo de pescado. Delicious authentic Mexican! Had the barbacoa tostada which was delicious! A little bit too greasy for my preference but it was still tasty. The environment is homey and cozy, staff was sweet, service was good! I tried menudo for the first time with my boyfriend and it was surprisingly good! Although I'm not an expert on menudo, my bf told me it was one of the better ones he's had in dfw. They served a lot and was worth it for the price. Went here for a light lunch here for the first time. We got the 3 taco plate and an extra taco on the side. We got the carnitas, fajita, pastor and pollo asado tacos. All were really good!! The carnitas was our favorite. Lots of crispy bits. The servers were nice and they gave us chips and salsa. The chips were hard but the salsa had a really nice spice to it! Very delicious food and great customer service. We ate inside. They bring out fresh made chips with an amazing creamy avocado sauce. I ate so much of the chips and sauce that I couldn't finish my food. I got the fajita nachos which were so good. Being from Deep South Texas (15 minutes from the border) where Mexican food is life and overly abundant, I had to give this a solid 3. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't worth raving about either. The rice lacked flavor which was disappointing, to say the least. I had the carnitas tacos, which were pretty decent given I'm picky but had too much fat and were overly dry with okay flavor. If I was craving tacos in the future, I wouldn't necessarily choose this place, but if nothing else was open I'd probably settle for it. I ordered food before going inside the restroom. The toilet looked as if it had not been cleaned in months. There was a dead cockroach on the floor. I was disgusted I didn't even want to eat the food. I gave it a try, and the barbacoa tacos I tried tasted SLIMY not how barbacoa usually tastes. The rice and beans were bland. Once a week I was trying a new restaurant. I stopped by here and got some tacos. They were so good that I came back twice a week for two months before I tried the menudo. Then I tried the shrimp. I didn't know what to order next so I started at the beginning of the menu and worked my way to the end of the menu. Every meal on the menu is amazing. The service is excellent, fast and they always check on me to make sure I'm don't need any thing else. It's always clean from the dining area to the rest rooms. First time ever here. Looking for a new place to eat carnitas tacos... so bf decided on this place. The carnitas here are much dry and I personally did not like them. I explained this to the owner and she just decided to charge me for it anyways... (even though I didn't even bite the whole taco, I tried pieces of the carnitas with a fork) anyways, she was pretty rude about it and just sat down on one of the tables and told the cook to come talk to me. He was pretty nice but he explained she was the owner and he will prepare anything else I'd like only if she offered so. Intold him I understand that she's the owner and only she can decide.
