Location: 5 Service: 3…read moreFood quality: 4 Cleanliness: 5 Prices: 3 Ambiance: 3 I had been wanting to try Jimmy John's and finally had my chance. It looks like a relatively new restaurant. It looks nice and well maintained both inside and outside. Plenty of parking as it is part of a shopping center. When I arrived there were a few people ahead of me, so there was a short wait, but that gave me time to look over the menu. I chose an Italian Night 8" sub in the lunch box which includes your choice of chips, a pickle spear and a cookie. The service could have been better. When a first time customer comes in it helps if the person taking the order can explain some options or how things work there. The bread is fresh baked, like a soft baguette, but denser and skinnier than the bread used by a well known sub competitor. I only saw one option: white, in two sizes: 8" or 16" long. The ingredients, both the meats, cheese and veggies were fresh and reasonably portioned. Still it was good and with the denser bread was very filling. I didn't see any sauce options to add flavor. They used mayo and a sprinkling of oregano. While it was good, I felt it was bland and would have enjoyed it more with additional seasoning: spicy mustard, Italian dressing, oil and vinegar, jalapeno, or something. The pickle spear helped! The cookie was also very good. I chose the oatmeal and raisin. I could have eaten more of those! This review is written during the COVID19 pandemic. Everyone was required to wear masks except for when eating at the table. There were just a few people seated at tables. Most were there for takeout. I did not see the restrooms. But what I could see of the dining room and the kitchen, everything seemed very clean. Prices were a bit on the high side IMHO ($10.81 without a drink), considering what other sandwich shops offer and charge. For the same price, I could have gotten a hot Ruben stacked with half a pound of pastrami, (and chips and a pickle) at another chain. I would give them another try. I will just make sure I ask about added seasoning or take my own ground chili piquin for added spice!

We ordered the Calimari/Fried Jalapeños and Hot Skillet Meatballs along with the Pastrami Sandwich and Fries. 1 Malibu and Coke and 1 Smoked Old Fashioned. This is 4th visit in the last 2 months. This spot has become a favorite as the atmosphere makes it pleasing to the eye. Very well decorated. Each visit has been a pleasant experience. See ya soon. Missed snapping a photo of the Smoke reveal. A good reason to return just for Happy Hour.

First off, it took about 15 minutes for our server to come over & take our order. No acknowledgment or "I'll be right with you!" She was very sweet, when she finally got to us, and very animated. She had super long braids...that she kept hitting my friend in the face with every time she turned her head, which was a lot! Hair that long should always be up. We finally got our food, about an hour after we got there. I was curious if there was a large party/ies that would have slowed the kitchen down, which would have been perfectly fine and understandable. There was a bigger table (appx 12 people)...with their leftovers in boxes and bags. Sometimes it takes a bit to catch up though, so again, I get it. Got a spinach salad that was good but there was no Gorgonzola cheese, as advertised. And I could have done the backstroke in it, there was so much dressing. I got the catfish, shrimp & grits. Saw it came with crawfish and sausage as well. Was super excited bc shrimp & grits is one of my all time favs! It came out fried (no biggie there. I like fried too) but with...MASHED POTATOES!! No grits bc it "wasn't ready". No heads up, no nothing. Grits takes about 20-30 minutes to make (Louisiana girl here so I know) so that excuse did not fly with me. My friend got the chicken parm. The most bland chicken parm I have ever put in my mouth. . The table next to us got it as well and concurred. Their food took about the same time to come out, and they had young children. Someone who, I'm assuming, was the owner came over. He was very apologetic and comped my meal. Much appreciated. The waitress raved about the bread pudding, which I love. Said it was served with gelato on top. Not only did we not get the gelato on top but it was cold!! Who serves cold bread pudding?! How this place has 4.7 rating is beyond me. Maybe it's under new ownership or something?? Needless to say, we will never be back.

Stopped into The District in Midlothian after a long afternoon of house shopping with my husband…read moreand sister because nothing fuels real estate decisions like hunger, dreams and hope. The place was fully booked, but the hostess saved the day and offered us lounge seating on the sofas. Honestly, it felt a little VIP...like we'd accidentally wandered into the cool kids' corner. I halfway considered putting on my sunglasses indoors just to commit to the moment, maybe even asking if they offered bottle service in the lounge. Within 10 minutes we were settled in and already getting excellent service. And as if the vibe wasn't good enough, there was a one‑man show crooning jazzy tunes in the background. He was smooth, talented, and added just the right soundtrack for an early dinner. Think "speakeasy energy," but suburban‑friendly. Now, the food. My husband ordered the Crunchy Pig sandwich, my sister went for the half rack of ribs, and I claimed the smoked turkey BLT. Everything hit the table about 20 minutes later, hot, fresh, and so lip‑smacking tasty that we inhaled every bite before remembering we meant to take pictures. My apologies to the food‑photo purists; trust me, the plates were camera‑ready before we destroyed them. If you find yourself wandering around The District in Midlothian, do yourself a righteous favor and grab a memorable meal here. Great food, great service, great music, and apparently great sofas.

Why would someone make a reservation to sit there and wait? Other parties that came after us were seated immediately. No manager talked to us. We left feeling incredibly disrespected, like our business didn't matter to them. I'm not sure if it was something about us personally, but I've never been treated like that at a restaurant I have a reservation at.

It was excellent. We ordered the shrimp with the brandy pink sauce which was what brought us back. The brandy pink sauce is really good and the shrimp are huge. The Cesar salad dressing is apparently made in house. Oksana made sure to go out of her way to make sure things went well this time. We went at an off time which I think made all the difference. We were the only ones there besides a lady at the bar. They could work on the ambiance a bit. I would the staff is professional. I don't know if that's because we had a bad experience the other day and thought we would complain again. Except for that and the chipped saucer things went well. I'm glad to know when to go. Definitely not when they're busy. But the shrimp are huge! We couldn't finish our food but gladly took it home. We will likely roll the dice again. We just know what to order when we go.

The marinara was could have been warmer, but good flavor. The fried mozzarella was good, served hot. Good flavor. Pizzas were well cooked, great toppings, very good crust. Great chew and crisp on the bottom from the oven. Generous toppings, large pizzas. The salmon was cooked correctly, fresh, and well seasoned. Too much olive oil on the salmon and veggies, but a good flavor. Grilled veggies were ok, just too much oil for my taste. Service was friendly and quick. Overall a great an experience.
